Last traveled over the route (from Haltwhistle) shortly before closure. This excellent video captures the beautiful scenery and conveys atmosphere. This has prompted a return visit. Many thanks for posting.
the brake van; in the old days it contained the winding wheel that pulled up the brakes on the train of cars behind the engine. it was always the number 2 car as such.
Brilliant loco in peak condition and brilliant railway. Sadly, on the 2 occasions I have been in Alston it has not been in operation. Good reason to go again. 😝
Excellent film, as always! I especially love your landscape filming and your superb vantage points. I so much feel that I'm personally there partaking the journeys. Thank you so much for all your efforts and then sharing the results. Ihave been subscribing through my account "anzaksonn" but google wants me to close that down and have "everything under one roof". So I'm subscribing again your channel through this account. Take care and keep up your excellent work. Cheers, ...anwar...

Excellent Video, Thanks for posting. I like the way you included the painted scenes in with the actual sites.
Wow the preparation and homework that must have gone into that video, Absolutely brilliant.
What a lovely view down the valley at 13:10.

thanks for great vid of a great little railway
Hello to Penny this fine day and every day..
Wot a very quirky little railway. Wots the grey cart the loco has behind?
I like the animated bag on the Water Crane spitting out the water. The Driver and the Guard playing bobbin in an out.
Yeh lol! U any idea wot the lil grey truck was for??
Matthew Snowden I think it's an air compressor for the brakes.
Really??? Not seen owt like that before
Matthew Snowden Harrogate is vacuum braked, and they use air braking on this line, so they have the compressor in the truck, I believe.
