She's a year younger than me....and I'm not ready to be retired. Here's hoping she can be restored back into service again very soon!! I thoroughly enjoy your videos and this was especially a good one. Thanks for taking us along. - - - Long Live the BR 80002 and her crew!
Heritage railways need locos like the standard tanks as their main workhorses as the excellent 80002 has demonstrated. I hope it is back in sevice without a long delay.
Engines like this used to take me around from Liverpool St and Victoria when I was a kid in the fifties. So many memories. Compared to a top link express tender engine, they should look ugly. But they don't. I think they are rather handsome. I love tank engines! I hope she is back in service before too long. Five years??
Sad to see 80002 leave service (even though I've only seen her once last March) At least she'll be back on track in many months to come. Such an honorable engine and a credit to the railway!
Although it's sad to see her go I am sort of glad, everytime I go she's out!!! I'm going tomorrow as it's the 4F and WD. Neither of which I have ever rode behind!
I spent my youth briefly firing to these tanks 80154 and 80144 brilliant steamers, why is 80002 going ?? she looks in brilliant condition as opposed to the filthy condition they were in at the end of steam.
Beautifully shot & edited as ever. There's quite a nice set of full line journeys you've got now; I don't know if you've done one with the 4F yet? That'd be a good one.
Is the engine shed just off Haworth on a separate stretch o track that eventually connects back onto the branch line? IDoes the loco travel solo all the way to Keighly to pick up coaches? m hopefully going to be going down there soon for a days footplate experience course and wqould love to know
Tedthetrain productions , there was an recent assessment, decision still pending, but as additional issues were found it will no doubt be a while before she returns to steam.
WHAT IS GOING ON, THERE HAS BEEN NO PUBLICITY WHATSOEVER ANYWHERE ON THE INTERNET OUT 80002 AND THE SO CALLED LAST DAY OF 80002 AT THE K W V . SO WHAT IS HAPPENING TO 80002 THEN, WHERE IS IT GOING ON TO. POOR OR NO PUBLICITY IS RIFE EVERYWHERE IN ENGLAND, SCOTLAND AND WALES AND IS ENDEMIC OF THE USELESS UK.
peter buckley , an assessment of 80002 was done around the start of the year, I gather some additional issues were found, however no final decision has been made as yet as there is still a requirement for the 4Fs replacement when its ticket runs out.
Absolutly great video with a very nice subject. I have this engine in gauge 1 live steam and it is one of my favorites.

I hope that 80002 enters service soon
Would be nice to see her back, was nearly started two years or three years ago, with an idea to be ready for when the 4F dropped out.

Graham Bentley 41241 is currently under overhaul, with a little bit of look she maybe next.
Very nicely put together, well done a fitting last day for an engine which appeared to be in good order.
She did sound great!
I bet such a useful engine like this will soon be back in service.
Nice steady camera work on board the train by the way... : )
Cliff.
Great video and she sounds brilliant and shows she is in fine spirit still!
A nice and well filmed tribute!
It's a former Scottish Region engine, and they were fond of painting whatever they could blue as it was their regional colour.

I had a look at the cylinders a couple of weeks ago, they are cracked
When I was a youngster in Perth West Australia, locos like this pulled the metro commuter trains [before they were called that] 3'6" gauge
OwenDWF, The engine sheds are at Haworth, but the carriage sheds are at Oxenhope.

Saw this loco about a week before this video was taken. It looks like its just 90733, 43924, 1054 and when finished 'Big Jim' and 'City of Wells'

Correct, 8 years ago now, hopefully it will not be to longer before they start overhauling her, but no date as yet.
Is the engine going to have a overhaul?
