The host is very knowledgeable and articulate. The guest is open to trying different dishes and combinations. You can see that he’s enjoying the experience, not just having food. All in all, a great episode.
As mentioned in a lot of comments, the knowledge of the host made the content of this episode, very engrossing. Keralas food history goes way back and it is also deeply entwined with our countrys historical and cultural development. Really enjoyed this one!

Tapioca cultivation was introduced by the Travancore King ,Visakham Thirunal Rama Varma in kerala. This cultivation helped to survive a massive famine during the 2nd world war. @14:03
It was not famine, British forced all the Indian rulers to give all rice cultivated by our people. My Grandmother told me that when they harvested the government officials will come and take all, this was then taken by British to manage crisis of war. Our people cultivated Arrowroot and Tapioca to survive. History texts in India never did justice to our motherland.
KERALA🌴🌴🌴 "LAND of SPICES" Because of its rich trading heritage, over time, various indigenous Kerala dishes have been blended with foreign dishes to adapt them to local tastes. Kerala cuisines offers multitude of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian preparations 🥗🍛🍚🥟🍤,historical diverse with cultural influences🛶,Having been a major production area of spices🥥🌶️🧅🥜 for thousands of years, the region makes frequent use of black pepper, cardamom, clove, ginger, and cinnamon. One of the traditional Kerala dishes is vegetarian and is called the Kerala sadya. A full-course sadya, consists of rice 🌾with about 20 different accompaniments and desserts🍮🍨🧋, and is the ceremonial meal of Kerala🌿🤗🤗🤗🌿. Wonderful Episode 🙏😊
Another good full filling and wholesome content (44 mins 😀) I watch all videos on bigger screen to experience such good content. Very well explained about rice and tapioca by your host. kudos to you to your host and to your team ✌

Understand if the other person is comfortable talking in Hindi or not, establish that in your conversations for the viewers. Otherwise, great content!
Fantastic episode, the food looks delicious. My forefathers are from Palghat in Kerala, but have not lived in the state since generations. Glad I learned something today.

Looking at a lot of episodes of yours it is evident how good Mazan is as a guide/co-host. It is also commendable he has been given the stage to express his views. This entire series has been such a cultural tour instead of just a food tour. Really amazing series and kudos to you to covering a single city with a lot of time to cover the depth instead of breadth.
Lesson to be learned: Rice and tapioca (casava) are not native to India. These were imported from far away places. Before that people use to eat millets and yam. Introduction of high glycemic foods as rice and tapioca paved the way to deteriorated health. We should allocate more space for cultivation of non starchy cruciferous vegetables and berries.

The host is very knowledgeable about local ingredients. However a factual error about a statement. Portuguese(not South America) brought the cassava or Tapioca to India via Kerala. They brought the same cashew nuts too. Chillies are from South America. We exported spices including black pepper to China, Middle East, Persia, Europe and rest of the world.
