    By the way, in case you didn't know, you can save a snapshot of your project using P and +, and recall it by doing P and -. Seems it would be more efficient than disabling manual save.
    Furthermore, you can also disable manual save with P and Track, just in case you weren't aware! :D

      Great that you mention! I actually had it in my original 'script' notes but I thought it was already too long. I hope people read your comment and notice that's a great option as well!

    great video, this is 100% gonna help me a lot with the "cool but single pattern" syndrome, thanks a lot

      Haha you're welcome! Single pattern syndrome is my whole life :D... If you have a pattern you like then definitely just run with it and see where else it might develop. Hope it's helpful!

      Yeah this is the block I'm running into with the op-z, it feels more intuitive to develop ideas in a DAW where you can kind of see things linearly. Excited to watch!

    • @RDiefenbach

      @@taylorh79 Interesting perspective with the 'linear' element. That's kind of how I view it in the OP-Z by progressing left to right across the patterns until I feel like the song is long or varied enough.

      @@RDiefenbach that's how I've started looking at it, when I first got it (a few weeks ago) I was doing a pattern in slot 1, then copying it to slot 2, and adding some things, then doing a new pattern (like a chorus) in pattern 6, doing the same thing there, so the song would be 1 2 5 2 6, etc.
      Definitely leaning more towards linear now, leaving an empty pattern between intro and verse, verse and chorus, where I can just so it's easier to navigate

    The opz audio is so good that's what made me buy the op1 field and tx6. Now to learn these suckers.

      Cheers Miles, I was actually inspired to mention the pre-performance save states by the reminders in your Digitone video so the knowledge is making its way around :)

    Do you have any other gear you sequence with your OP-Z?

    • @RDiefenbach
      @RDiefenbach  4 роки тому +1

      I have a Roland TB-3 I have tried sequencing via / THRU my Arturia Keystep as I don't have the OP-lab but it's a bit of a pain so I usually end up leaving it on the shelf. I've been looking at the Digitone for a long time as the perfect match to get but waiting for the right moment / deal. What about yourself?

    • @casinomann
      @casinomann 4 роки тому +1

      @@RDiefenbach I actually just got the oplab, as my buddy and I often jam out and we can finally use ir as a reliable sequencer.
      I myself only use it with my Mikrokorg, both sequencing it and using it as a controller for the OP-Z. I'm really looking for some new small gear, so that's what I thought to ask haha
      Pipe dream is 0-Coast, but I'm leaning more toward getting a Volca, Modal Craft/Skulpt or similar (Bastl Kastle i.e)
      If you have experience with them/any other tips, I'd gladly listen! :D

    • @RDiefenbach
      @RDiefenbach  4 роки тому

      @@casinomann Roland Boutique series is a popular choice I think for portable but powerful options! 0-coast for sure. I'm hoping to make an OP-Z and TB-3 video sometime soon but I don't know what to make with them - I guess acid house is the natural choice but it's not my fav genre - but perhaps that's all the more reason to take on a challenge!
