Adam, I would like to see the same knife throw on a ballistic dummy torso wearing a t-shirt and hooded sweatshirt or similar clothing to what the boyfriend was wearing that day. I have a different opinion about the knife throwing in this case. If she aligned her anger fear and frustration towards him in alignment she could have done a hard throw because of adrenaline rush. Also she could be considered an expert at throwing things in anger……she may have had a rage blackout too. However I do think that she may have thrown the knife because most stabbing in conditions of rage would have multiple stab wounds. A throw would have just one……just consider a fearful angry frustration throw that may have been very lucky…….also if she was talking with her mom it would also be a subconscious primal defensive mind state of survival throw. I always enjoy your videos. And I’m trying to learn your instinctive throw style.

I think the distance it sticks in the spin changes depending on the grip position of the knife she grabs at once. Unlike her master Adam Celadin's professional knife grip, if she grips the knife near the center and throws it, I think the distance the knife will stick will be longer.

While I do think it could have easily been accidental that the knife stuck him in the artery and killed him, the throw was not accidentally done. At the very least, it’s manslaughter. Could be second-degree murder. The fact that a throne sharp object can kill you is well known, and she cannot claim she didn’t know it could. Her story relies on him, being the aggressor, and her throwing in self-defense. She has the history of being the aggressor. Secondly, her folks didn’t help her out any by trying to tamper with evidence. Innocent people don’t tamper with evidence.

I agree. And she must have done it drunk, without intention to kill, but as soon as she realised what she had done, she began inventing stuff, like throwing the knive. Throwing the knive makes it look more like she was reacting in panic.
I'm not a shrink, but as i watch the scenes of the questioning i get the impression that she's making stuff up as it goes.

listen i trow knifes for fun i wouldnt consider myself a professional but i have a story that is actually what made fall in love with knife trowing i was just starting trowing and knew nothing yet of all the fundamentals like distance, spins and all that i put my tagret at the end of the hallway and went all the way to the other side of the house in the living room target must have been 20 -25 foot away full spin (but held it by the blade) and baseball trew that sucker down the hall not only did it hit directly on the mark i was aiming the blade went all the way trew the wooden target because it had so much momentum...it was a tperfect trow that i couldnt replicate today on call after 20 years of trowing knifes anyway morale of the story is even a beginner can have a lucky trow its not out of the realm of the possibilies is it improbable yes but not impossible

I can see how with some heavier kitchen knives this could very well have happened, *however* when the doctor said that she cut the subclavian artery, it sounds like a typical icepick stab to the shoulder - the subclavian artery is very hard to hit frontally, because the clavicle is in the way.

I'm a police officer in Brazil and I've seen many knife attacks on duty. I am also a self-defense instructor and have been practicing knife fighting for almost 20 years.
In the past, one of my partners was hit in the femoral artery by a kitchen knife thrown pulled by an untrained, middle-aged drunk man (about 2 meters away), so (I most certaim that she is lying) but it's not impossible to thrown a kitchen knife with zero training and mortally hound someone (I saw it myself as I said). Of course it's pure luck (or bad luck). and I'm sure that in most cases the attacker will simply stab the victim.
Also, I'm more familiar with brazilian laws, but whether the victim threw the knife or stabbed the victim makes no difference. What matters is if the act was in self defense or not. If a big buy are charging someone to kill (lets say with a knife on his hand) if the victim defend hinseft throwing a brick on the atacker or hiting him in close combat with the same brick that doesn't matter as long as this was done in order to save his own life from a real and imminent life threat.
therefore, I can't understand why creating an elaborate lie about thowing the knife if saying that she simply stuck the knife in him doesn't make the slightest difference legally as long as it's in self-defense

getting a knife to stick with shear luck is possible, but the damage required, combined with panic, and being thrown from the off hand cuz you are on the phone... hmmm idk toughy, i think her story being all over the place is a damn good indicator though. great video.

  • @nightshade7240
    @nightshade7240 4 місяці тому +2

There is another variable that makes her statement highly suspect. She said there was an island between her and the boyfriend but somehow he's charging her? First, he has to charge around the island, so he's not coming straight at her, so he would be changing the distance not just in a straight line but to the angle as well. Second if he has intent to harm her he starts his "charge" with the island between them? Third, we are talking high stress, high adrenaline situation where even a pro knife thrower confronted by sudden violence from a loved one would at least have a moment of hesitation. If you were going to throw a knife at an attacker, where would you aim? Especially under panic and stress? Instinctively you'd go for centre mass, so hitting the subclavian artery deep enough to puncture it with a kitchen knife with a random throw is pretty much impossible. More chance you hit bone. With a stab though, well a lot of people have died to a lucky stab.
The biggest mistake she made was talking to detectives without a lawyer present. Always lawyer up, even if you are entirely innocent.

After listening to you and the autopsy I came to my own conclusion. Although he never said exactly how far the knife went in to his chest it’s really tough to know how fast the force was to go into his chest.I personally think she probably was going towards him with the knife and she stabbed him with the knife in her hand and never threw it to get that strength and pressure to enter that far and cut an artery, of course I don’t know for sure, because I wasn’t there, it makes more sense after you see all the videos of her running after him, hitting him.

The subclavian artery is pretty shallow. If you threw a knife, hard, and got really really lucky and nicked it, you would kill someone. No matter what kind of knife, as long as it was heavy enough. I wish I knew which knife she used. If it was a 10 inch chefs knife, You could definitely throw it hard enough to accidentally kill in that spot. I don’t believe her story, but it is a good cautionary tale about throwing knives at one another.

  • @KnifeShuriken

This shows how lethal an accurately thrown knife is, for people to even question it is silly, scary thing is you can't ban knives the way firearms and other specially made self defence weapons can be, it can only be restricted by an individuals’ ability and the will to use it, thankfully it is a very difficult skill to be good at, otherwise it would be too available for nuttas
But it is all down to intent and the will to use it, someone with the skill and the will is very dangerous, I am kind of glad I have that skill, but not that I ever want to be in situation where I needed to use it

A thrown knife is possibly more dangerous than a stab with the same knife, I can embed a knife a good 3/4in deep into a hardwood board at 7 yrds, an old table, I tested out stabbing as hard as I could with the same 🔪 at the same wooden board and it would only go in about 1/4in in, throwing the knife is a massive force multiplier, cheap ass kitchen knife from Lidl can penetrate 2 to 3mm steel sheet at 7 yrds, (but for it to stick in I have to launch a bit closer) if it can bust into sheet steel, there is no questioning the damage it can do if it hit someone’s body

Thrown knife is more powerful than a stab with the same knife; advantage of stabbing of course albeit less powerful, is that you can pull the knife out and stab again and again as many times as you have stamina to pull it out and stab again, it is a most lethal yet simple weapon, that’s why it is still used by infantry present day, rifle, handgun, shovel and good old nasty tactical knife

But in the case of Courtney Clenney, I don’t have the facts, that would be the prosecution’s job to prove if she if a practicing knife thrower; I don’t think she is, she is either very naturally skilled at throwning a knife or practiced secretly or it was a very lucky shot (or unlucky for both her and BF if you know what I am mean, if she threw the knife in anger and it hit the BF by the hilt it would be a less tragic and severe outcome, but all in all, I don’t think she is a skilled knife thrower; sure it was a lucky shot,
Any practiced knife thrower I don’t think would launch 🔪🔪🔪 at anyone out of anger,
A case like this is very rare, personally I have never heard news of anyone killed with a thrown a thrown knife, this is shocking news

High end kitchens often have heavier higher quality kitchen knives, so giving more power to any throw that by chance happen to stick. Having said that anyone would protect themselves with their hands and arms from a knife throw as that is the natural instinctive reaction and can be done remarkably fast. How deep the stick will depend on the power and weight, though most women aren't renown for "power throws". Add it up it just makes the story highly unlikely. The coroner has more information and in his professional capacity believes in this case: impossible. A stab was very probable and the woman had the power and ability, as most do, to deliver a fatal stab.
Sadly, knives can be mighty lethal. They happen to be one of man's main tools and possibly more important than the wheel.

Before to argue on the fact if she can or cannot throwing the knife.. the question should be: why she should try? I mean... exist the big risk that it don't works and he would have also the knife. Also if I use it sometimes to throw, I would not try to defense myself in this way! It's no sense to me. For self -defence defence is more sense to stab than throw it. But... I'm a thrower so I know it. Maybe in that moment she thought it would be easier to throw and she tried. In your test, if I can say, you don't count the fact that she say he's walking fast to her.. this could change the rotation needed. (Ok you said it about a minute after. 😂 But as I said... the main problem to me is: who should try to use throwing with the risk to throw bad instead to stab? Of course if it was like she said and for self-defence.. the fact that she can't go crazy knowing he's dead could be for shock. But yes, it's strange to ask for an hug.

odd note about the investigation, was there no prints for hand position on the knife, or other details about how she would have thrown it?
Honestly the oddest part of this investigation is the idea that they could have swept over the knife for hand position to see if it was held with a full hand or a couple of fingers that would prove a base line of intent. unless the knife was just washed with blood from the injury either way still odd.
The second and fundamentally the most important question is how did she throw the knife? that would have been the first and ultimate question to ask her. "so you're saying you threw the knife?, ok how did you throw it?, could you replicate it?, etc

She definitely and definitely stabbed her partner at close range, intending to do so at that moment. Just as she had done many times before she killed him, but this time she was not very good at acting in front of others and her boyfriend died. There is a lot that disturbs me about this story, toxic relationship aside.
The first thing is that he was so mentally and emotionally dependent on her that he would not let her go, making him a man with morbid and obsessive attitudes.
The second thing is her insanity. A completely disturbed girl with drug addiction problems and dual personality, who tried several times to push Toby away from her.
The prosecuting attorney said that her ex-boyfriend came close to being kill3d by her. But in her case the relationship ended earlier. The disturbing aspect in this case is that it was all avoidable and predictable.
The more I think about it, the more absurd it is. Toby knew he was headed for death, and yet he plunged into it with all of himself, mistaking this for LOVE. But that is not Love. This is DISEASE, and it must be treated.
Both of them had clearly visible mental and emotional problems, and none of their family or friends ever did anything about it. Unfortunately we underestimate many things about human behavior, but in this case I believe that death was visible and predictable.
Beautiful video by the way, congratulations, I will continue to follow you.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is why you inform the police that you are invoking your right to remain silent and say that you want an attorney present. Then you STFU! That 911 call didn't help either, when you hear her say "Baby I'm so sorry" that pretty much torpedoed her. Giving conflicting statements to police is a HUGE red flag (not to mention a crime), in their minds, they think you are lying to cover up your guilt. Here is the real problem, a person who has gone through that sort of event has just under gone more stress than they ever have before in their life. Their mind is trying to process all of that with adrenaline coursing through their veins. Odds are HIGH you are going to get pertinent points wrong, even if you are telling the truth.

Definitely not self defense. She made up the throwing story to create plausible distance between herself and the crime. I believe she stabbed him. Could someone throw a kitchen knife and have it stick, like you said it's technically possible, but really difficult, and with the type of knife it was, it'd be a freak chance for it to happen. I wish domestic violence against men was taken as seriously as domestic violence against women. No one deserves that.
But I'm glad to see you give your expert opinion and demonstration, very interesting! They should bring knife experts into the courtroom too.

I think it depends on how far the knife went in. If I saw an autopsy, I'd have a more certain idea of whether or not the knife was thrown. Apparently throwing stuff was her form of abuse against her bf

Based on the info you provided us, we can't make a decision. We can only hope the judicial system had all the correct info to make a valid decision. But l don't think that medical examiner has ever thrown a knife at a relative soft target with some force.

Also you have to take into consideration what type of shirt/sweater/vest or jacket the victim was wearing. That would definitely obscure the data.

Anyone that questions the lethality of a thrown knife has not trained in it, a kitchen knife is one of the most lethal knives one can throw; I can nail a kitchen knife into a brick wall at my optimal range (5-7 yards, happens to be the length of the diagonal of my Lounge) no, you don’t need to be Predator in AVP to stick a knife into a brick wall, if you can throw it the right way, but as said, it takes minimum ten years to get to that stage where you can just pick up any old shit and throw
A thrown knife has FAR stronger penetration force than a stab with the same knife
The difficult part is being able to embed that sucker into the target

I’ve got some heavier kitchen knives with all steel construction and heavier handles. Those knives I think could be pretty effective throwers, although they’re too expensive for me to test my theory. 😂 Who knows what happened, there is always beginner’s luck and instinct. One thing that supports her story is that there was a single stab wound … if I’m scared for my life and holding a knife I’m not stabbing someone just one time. if i’m trying to kill someone I’m also not stabbing just one time. But a throw means I get one stab… ? who knows? RIP to the victim.

She was holding knife differently, more like stabbing, with blade downwards. And as someone who has worked with wood and pork ( in the kitchen, with skin) - knife works different on both materials, would stick in the wood (especially soft wood target like yours) more easy as in the pork, especially with skin. However I am not an expert, just my observation from working at home😀. I‘d go for stabwound .

Even if the knife stuck on dumb luck, it wouldn't have been no kill shot, the kitchen knife just isn't heavy enough, and with distance constantly changing the way it was, yeah she stabbed him I'd have to say.

  • @rong.9130

I want to see the knife. If it was a well-maintained (sharp), large chef's blade, it could have enough mass and cutting ability for the beginner's luck claim to be plausible. If it was a cheap, light, flexible department store knife, or a something small like a paring or steak knife, then it was definitely in her hand when he got stuck.

    • @nightshade7240
      @nightshade7240 4 місяці тому

There is no possibility she hits him front on with a thrown knife there. It's the fact she severed that artery that buries her case. That artery is protected by the clavicle. You have to get around the bone to hit it. So most likely scenario is a downward stab that probably still hit the clavicle but had enough force or the blade was fine enough to still get through. There are a lot of variables that have been left out but all of the possibilities point to a stabbing attack, which is why the doctor categorically states the throw is impossible.

I don't think it was deliberate murder, because she could just leave the guy any time if she wanted.
so either she was scared he'd beat her, or she was crazy/angry and did it in affect.
