what a pleasent surprise to see you tonight Robert . Your a wise man for recgonizing that you had a bad day and not a bad life . You love what your doing and us viewers love watching what your doing . Good job for helping out your uncle ..yes you are a somebody and through your videos you have reached out to hundreds and hundreds and made a better day for each and everyone . Last night I had a dream and in that dream youwere catching fur ...so the fur is coming friend . I also enjoy your camera skills . Thanks for sharing ,
Robert, I’ve been having some bad days lately too. Thank you for your inspirational words that I will apply to my life.....that is “ having a bad day but not a bad life “. Thanks, you’re truly awesome !
Thanks for the great video Robert. Nice to see we got the Robert we come to appreciate back again. Can't beat a nice camp fire to find peace and harmony. Really enjoyed the techniques you used to make the stump stove and the stump set. When you put your mind to it, you have lots of things to show us along with the stories of times past. Thank you again and we look forward to your next visit. Your uncle will be thankful for your help. Peace.
Robert: your life is richer than most. the spark in your voice when you tell your stories of past life and how you shared it with others tells us this ! do not stop enriching our lives. Thanks!!!
I was very concerned that you might give up on making videos. Glad to see this video show up when I awoke at 3a.m.to stoke up my fire! I cut wood almost every day as that is my only heat source and found it funny that YOU are cutting wood today as well. I have learned many things from your videos especially about snares. I have never seen any video of yours that I did not enjoy. Would be glad to listen to just your stories. I think many people would like to know about the day to day life of folks like you and your wife who live on the Rez. I think you are doing a wonderful thing Robert. Love, respect, and peace to you my brother from the mountains of Ky.
Robert you so lucky when I used to hunt or fish an get nothing , I always said the worst day of fishing or hunting is always way better then the best day at work
Very happy to see you making more videos I look forward to watching them every time they are inspirational , fun to watch love the old time stories and when you teach us bushcrafting in your area!!
Thanks for not giving up, we like to see what your doing even if your not trapping. I’m sure your uncle really respects you for getting him wood and helping him. Your a good man Robert awesome ✌️✌️ok ok
I am so glad to see you back. Many others probably are.I rushed home from work to see if you were here.It may be many miles between us but in the past couple of months I have noticed that many people have become a large part of your family.we are one large family spread all over the world.thank you for being there and bringing us together.
I’ve been called a lot worse than “ a seatbelt”! Lol. Glad your bouncing back! The fur is real slow for me in Connecticut too but I still get to see the woods and the morning sky! Keep at it and so will I!
Hey Robert I can tell you have worked in the bush for a long time. One thing I am impressed with is the use of layering for your clothing. Alot of people are not aware of how important that is in winter. This might be a good topic for one of your videos to show people and talk about it. PEACE
That was cool to see you work with the chainsaw, you handle it real well. Nice to have you back. Its the little things that we learn, what to collect to start a fire, holding a Bic to warm it up so it will light in cold weather, making a fire log with a chainsaw and how to get the saw to work when it's froze up. Every video I learn something Robert, keep on doing what you are doing, it's not just us older folks who are watching, it's young folk too. Thanks for a good day on the trail getting firewood for Uncle G!
Robert...we had to start fires all the time to thaw out our chainsaws...we cut the trees where we had the fire so things didn’t freeze up ...also We brought a couple of beach chairs and always had a cooler holding our shore lunch...usually fresh bread, jam, and a big ham steak for roasting With wrapped potatoes in the coals...two sleds and two tractors equals a great day outside....they wanted too much $ for cut trees back then. My grandfather would cut trees and use his Percheron Horse team to drag out to farmhouse...such a great time to be a kid growing up!
Robert, when I was young my father and I would sit around a fire and he would tell me stories about his life and what went on in days gone by. He's long gone now but listening to you reminds me of him. Mah-si
Hey nice to see you back Robert ! You are a Somebody don’t ever forget it, we are all somebody’s . Anyhow like your video and the way you get that fire going there’s always something to learn, oh we all have bad days my friend ok .... anyhow you have a nice day regards to your family from mine here in the UK ...... glad to see your helping out your uncle with the wood. Bye for now I’m learning your language maybe Maasi lol 👋👋
See Robert, it dosen't always have to be about trapping, we all love watching you do your everyday routine. You don't need to be sorry for having a bad day, we all have them. Please keep doing what your doing , if you catch some fur that's just a bonus. We love you buddy. PEACE
Always wear your seat belt. In life I compare that to having our moral compass guide us. We always need to do what ones inner voice tells us. Some call it the voice of ones conscience or spiritual guidance. It's foundation comes from what we were taught or what we learned in childhood. It keeps us out trouble and on the right path in life. Many walk the path you walk Robert. This is clearly evident from your many followers. Also, there are many forces that try to lead us on a different path. It could be alcohol, envy, temptation, etc.. Yes Robert, indeed keep your seat belt on it is a wild ride sometimes. God Bless.
Glad to see you back Robert. Great video. I think the young folks would love to see a video of you snaring, cleaning, and cooking a rabbit over a fire. Just a suggestion. Really enjoyed the fire log.
Glad to see you are getting into the videos still Robert. You had me concerned when you were down about the fur situation yesterday. Stay with it, you will figure something out and we enjoy seeing what you are up to. Take care.
Ok Robert? Ok. This morning, when I got up, it was early and dark. I looked west, far west. There was a little light. This light reminded me another song, like yesterday. This time, it is from Elton John. I could see "... a candle in the wind ..." Yes, Robert was back in the bush, as usual, as a fragile, but a clear light for generations, visible around the world, a strong link between all of us. Thanks Robert & Peace to you.✌
Robert, Yes mate you are a somebody, a bloody awesome somebody that has pure respect from the heart. Your fur will come in time, So to the cabin, Keep at it & keep the stories coming Dont forget the chin stick. keep your head up :) Peace from Aust
I too am glad your back....like the way you make fires👍 same way we do this in the north too, I call the spruce branches with the green fuzz ol mans beard! Lol.....never seen the checker board type log stump fire...awesome👍 and your tree hole for trap👍 keep up the good work and nice to see you help out an uncle ❤️
Robert, That's such a good realization when you said, "I just had a bad day, not a bad life." What a good reminder for all of us! You're a great role model, Robert! You're not just somebody... YOU'RE AWESOME! Stay strong.
That stump set looks like it would do nicely for the wolverines. Saw was sharp, cut smoothly and fast. Just remember Robert, we are here for you just as you are here for us. Fur takes a back seat to having our time with you. We have fun watching you and hearing your stories. Peace.
Robert, good to see you back and big smile on your face. Mahsicho for that. When you get to feeling down, go back and watch Rez Trapping 39 & 40 and listen to a little BB King to put that smile on your face. We all love ya and don't ever forget that. Ups and downs, doesn't make any difference, we're here for you. We all have em. Like you said, thousands of us!!!😊 Trapper Jack from South Dakota USA . "Keep your stick on the ice". We will see you again👍✌🏻
I will be cutting firewood today just picked up an Echo cs 590 timberwoolf, saw is only a year old "still in warrenty" but who ever had it didn't clean the oil holes in the bar and I think it has the wrong chain.no more ajustment so I will pick up a new bar and chain for it today. Its a beast though 60 cc motor says it will handle up to a 29 inch bar.
Lorne C The chain has stretched. You dont need a new bar or chain, the chain can be shortened if to long. Ask at saw shop what problem could be before buying something you may not need. Take the bar off saw and use a putty knife or your pocket knife and stick thin blade in bar groove and push away from you and all the small chips and junk will come out of grove so chain moves free and also clean holes by the oilier. When home i use air hose and blow gruve clean. A new chain will stretch and become loose , so make a few cuts then re tighten chain. Always use Premium or regular white gas in saw. Ethinol gas will melt gas lines, so always empty when no using.I If you have older saw , replace with the new gas lines that wont melt. Empty tank then pull choke too empty gas lines and carb. Never use more or less oil mix in your gas , Use only what directions say to use. One huge mistake people make is trying to keep sawing when the chain gets dull. Only very little pressure is needed for chain to cut , very little. Look at the teeth on chain, and if the''' TIP"" of tooth is shinny it needs to be re sharpened "" NOW "", or you could burn up the saw by over heating it. My brother in law burnt up 2 of my saws he barrowed from me because he kept pushing down with a dull chain. Yes he bought me a new one [ because he was honest ]. You can learn how to sharpen your saw on You Tube.
@@allanclose9684 hey thanks for the comment but I had cleaned the channel the bar had been grooved by the chain and chipped in a couple of spots after doing some part research it was because who ever had the saw before it was at the pawn shop had put the wrong chain for the bar on it it was supposed to have a d70 and they had been running a d72 so I put a new bar and chain combo on it today. And the chain was so uneven that they defiantly did not know how th sharpen a chain either. The saw itself runs great. Thanks for commenting though.
Oh and even with having to replace the bar and chain the saw still saved me $150.00 than what a new on would cost and it still has another 3 years and 4 months under factory warranty left on it!
Lorne C, Now i see why the trouble u had. I buy most saws and supplies from Bailey's in Calafronia they have great sales. Sometimes u can get a bar and chin for the price of one and great prices on files. I keep my file in a piece of cardboard that i folded 3 or 4 times , then wrap with some tape and slide file in to keep it clean and dry, it last much longer that way. i use air hose and clean it . I keep it on dash of pickup to keep dry too. I cut firewood for a living for may years. They have catalog on line and 800 number, call and ask questions or ask if have or will have a sale on a certain item. In 1983 i bought a case files [ 60 ] and still have a few left . Been buying from Bailey's since 1974. Good lock with saw. Whats your 20?
Peace my brother.I will not say goodbye. To my people when you say goodbye that meens you will never see that person again. And I hope to see you many times in the future.
It's your UA-cam channel, Therefore; it's your video production. Create what and when you want. It sounds like the saw may have a fuel problem (Ethanol in gasoline can harm) or maybe it needs adjusting? Such is "Life as a Trapper on a the Rez,"

Don't give up on trapping. I think the War Paint scared the B-jeepers out of the game. Maybe pull everything and boil the traps to kill the scent. Start with all new poles and such. Same area but away from the old sets. I know you will make a go of it. Peace Brother.

""YES, I KNEW IT"" Just a bad day not a bad life. You just needed that chin stick. My dad always said, keep that chin up and a stiff upper lip. Have you ever tried to talk with a stiff upper lip? Try It, it will put a smile on your face. Maybe not the furs you expected and the little woman gone just got the best of you. It can happen big guy, to the best of us! You will look back and laugh someday. Maybe you need to fall on the snow and make a snow angel, it helps take a load off. I do it sometimes and I'm 67 years old ! P

Good videos Brotha! Keep em coming even if it’s a short one, we still watch it when the notification pops up! Your doing good things that’s for sure, you have a great goal with the youth and elders you’ll get it done no problem! Ok? K. ✌🏽
I don't understand why your not wearing safety glasses. !
Merry Christmas and A happy New Year to you and your fam :)
First year watching. Hilarious! One question: Why does Kevin R. answer the questions posed to Robert??
You should do a live chat one eve.

Now that was a funny storie. What ya say. Lol
