this class is important as general education to get at least a bachelor degree. I tell you, I had to do this Math to get my master. I am close to my retirement age, and I never needed to use exact probabilities. Only I have said looking at the sky... "Will probably rain". or "you probably will be fired"... dont pay attention to me. I am just elderly, but I am just saying. Saying that, here is the best explanation I have found for my kids.

My teacher just dictate what is written in the book and force us to write it without telling us a single thing what the hell the topic is about and why it is used etc ... It means that the probability of Sarah choosing Algebra is dependent on her choosing Biology too , hence it is detonated as P(A/B) and not P(A and B) .
Awesome presentation as usual. My one question is about the Multiplication Rule finishing at 2:17. Is that for successive events? If so, I was under the impression the multiplication rule for successive events was P(A and B) = P(A) x P(B|A). But I must say I have a hard time differentiating between the Multiplication Rule for Successive Events and the Conditional Probability Rule P(A|B) = P(A and B)/P(B). What really is the difference between the latter two?
