Man I wish my Saturday down there was as nice as yours. I ended up having to pull my pistol out on 2 guys that cut the line at the ramp. Me and the guy behind me tried to be nice and just politely tell them they just skipped a 45 min line that stretched to the far side of the parking lot ,well they didn't like that and decided a fist fight was the way to earn top spot in line. Some ppl....
The fish are big and plentiful in Murrells right now. We fished Thursday 6/8 from about 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, from about dead low tide thru high and a couple of hours of incoming. We caught fish at every location we anchored. I targeted creek mouths and sweeping bends in the creeks mainly. But we also went up into the big flats area just northwest of the inlet at slack high tide and anchored along the south rock wall inside the inlet later in the day. There are fish everywhere! We fished from land along South Causeway Rd of Pawleys the day before. I caught one 14" flounder at the first bridge out from Pawleys, scared up a puppy drum in the little channel paralleling the road and unsuccessfully sight fished to a red making its way down the same channel. Just couldn't get a good cast from the road. I give so much credit to Chris's channel for our success. This was our 5th year staying in Surfside Beach. We had chartered 4 hour inshore trips the first 3 years. Last year and again this year I rented a pontoon from Crazy Sister Marina for 8 hours as the cost was the same as a 4 hour charter. We caught more fish both years renting the pontoon than we had on any chartered trips. (This isn't a slam against charters - with 8 hours on the water the chances of catching fish more than double compared to 4 hours. The Charters out of Murrells are great!) This year was spectacular! Chris, you are the man! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge of the area. I'll be ordering some Deadcalm Destroyers!
Awesome fishing! Im coming down in the middle of July again this year. I fished the Pawleys Island area last year for flounder but had no luck. I never tried the Murrels Inlet area before. Is the fishing better there as opposed to Pawleys Island?
Keep up the great videos. I can’t wait to try Murrells

Murrells Inlet is just different. And MI is bigger. You’ll do great. 👊🏻
