Btw, even if it was a joke it a terrible one. Even the average pun is funnier than intentionally pronouncing a name wrong. And if the joke is supposed to be the way people respond, we come right back to the whole sacrificing quality for a few extra comments thing. Jokes at the expense of the average viewer kill retention.

Draco ,mean Dragon in Latin ,come from the Ancient Greek δράκων (Drákōn)
Colosse ,from the Latin Colossus ,from the Ancient Greek κολοσσός (Kolossós) ,it mean a Statue of great Height ,It's a word synanimous to Giant in English .
"Teeny" would still be fitting for a tiny dragon though
I wouldn't really call card counting and Pokemon RNG manipulation all that similar.
Card counting is the process of getting an idea of what cards are left in the deck. You're still getting random results from new cards, you just have a decent idea of whether what's left is good for you or not.
RNG manipulation is more like having a deck of cards where you know there aces as the 5th, 17th, 32nd, and 51st card. There's a machine that grabs cards from the top of the deck one at a time and puts them down. You then try to grab the aces from the machine at the right time.
I find card counting to be much more interesting and strategic.
It's always funny to randomly see the clip when Werster is losing his sanity.

I love the Voltorb Flip because of how much skill-based it is. It actually makes it worthwhile to 'gamble' for Pokemon and TMs instead of just buying them using money (its not really gambling as you can't lose anything, and you also can't buy coins anymore)
I will never be able to hear Dratini the same again
This video hits like a really good pizza on a lactose intolerant: I was craving that Speedrun content like one craves that amazing cheese taste and I really, really enjoyed it, but it made me feel bad down to my stomach because of the name pronunciation of literally everything that has a name.

I fucking LOVE voltorb flip so much and I wish they included it in all subsequent games. I can play that shit for hours on end, day after day (and I’ve done so before). I have accidentally maxed out my coins on several different cartridges and would have to spend them on things I didn’t care about just so they would let me play more voltorb flip...which is...the exact opposite reason why people would play voltorb flip in the first place (‘play it so you can spend coins on rewards’ vs ‘spend coins on rewards so you can keep playing it’). I think I have a problem lmao
Most people seem to dislike it compared to the original slot machines but I can’t understand why. Even if you hate both, you can’t *lose* coins on voltorb flip, and there’s an element of strategy to it compared to just ‘insert coin, hope for win’, which gives you more control over winning. It’s still luck reliant, but you can GREATLY increase your odds if you know what you’re doing. Being able to eliminate useless paths, *using safe but useless paths as buffers* so you don’t get sent all the way back down to level 1 if you flip a voltorb, and counting exactly what multipliers each row/column will have deeply satisfies my troubled personality patterns

I'm a card counter as well as a casual speedrunner. That's a bad comparison of the two tbh. Card counting generally gives the player a 1% advantage over the casino (more if you use the advanced deviations as well). This is if you make no counting mistakes, use perfect basic strategy, and use a perfect bet spread. Rigging the RNG in speedrunning gives you a 100% chance of saving time using tactics that wouldn't otherwise be obtainable. Not saying it's cheating or anything, but card counters like myself have winning streaks and losing streaks and win in the long run after 1,000s of hours of play based on a small advantage. This tactic allows you to save time everytime as long as you don't make a mistake.
Sorry, but the comparison is terrible IMO, as one is guaranteed without human error, and the other take 1000s of hours of play to guarantee a win in the long term with a slight advantage.
While the success rate of card counting and RNG manipulation in Pokemon may differ, the fundamental concept of manipulating a system to gain an advantage is similar in both cases.
Both card counting and RNG manipulation can be seen as a form of problem-solving, as the player must find ways to beat the system that requires hours of practice and attempts from both sides.
And while I understand your perspective, my main focus is to emphasize that branding these methods of playing as cheating is unjust and belittles the hard work and dedication needed to achieve proficiency in them.
@@PulseEffects I agree with this mostly. Only real difference is that card counting comes in thousands of different scenarios and combinations with what the count is, and what combinations of cards come out of the deck. Speedrunning you generally try and follow a specific method to beat the game as fast as possible (even though things rarely go perfectly), and rarely do people shy away from the method. I agree that neither is cheating though and it's just using your brain to solve a problem. I just think that speedrunning in a nutshell is simpler than card counting.

I will say the card counting analogy is kinda a bad one because it is heavily frowned upon and a lot of casinos will kick you out if they suspect you are counting cards

Not gonna knock the category for using heavy RNG manipulation (even if I personally find it makes HGSS runs boring due to how heavily they rely on it), but the card counting analogy is flawed. Counting cards gets you kicked out of casinos. Sure, it's a strategy, but it's heavily frowned upon.
