Well, 6 years mine’s been like that! And it was an easier fix as mine wasn’t broken, just come unhooked! Done in 2 minutes, many thanks for the video! 👍👍
@@DawgWillFixIT have had to replace the pump but it’s still very temperamental. The boot lid won’t come down during the process and I need to push it down manually. Sometimes I get errors and stops during the process. But it’s fine now another year until it’s summer again!!
FYI, grey ones are 75 quid, black ones are £24 direct from BMW. Mine is black, I was on the verge of doing exactly what you've done until I realised black ones are cheap so I bought one. Wish I'd seen you pry yours out though, I pulled the whole inner trim off to get to it 🤦♂️🤣
I've got the flaps for mine, ...... somewhere! 😂 Obviously common fault , with having the roof opened and closed through summer months!,(even when it's cold)... we've all done it!😁🥴
These cars have so much plastic, it might be worth buying a hot staple repair kit. Here's a video I found showing how they're used. Of course, you could just use a hot soldering gun with bent paperclips if you didn't want the kit. ua-cam.com/video/b6UIVSNEps4/v-deo.html

Anyone know the same fix for a facelift model? With the angles push rods?
What's different about the facelift variant? Thought they all the same?
One side of mine has a spring completely missing.
Anybody know the part number or what it's called?
Hi There , part no: 51438163692 for return spring. Hope this helps.
