Thankyou muchly for promoting my hometown mate, it’s a hidden gem that most foreign tourists missed unfortunately. FYI, the Casuarina Inn you shot, was known as the new rest house (in the 70s), the old rest house being opposite King Edward 7 Primary 1 school (near the Telegraph museum).
Just some Comments. The tree that's propped up on the road at the Taiping Lake Gardens actually fell across the road during one of the thunderstorms as it's roots were uprooted. Despite it's age the Town Council decided to save it, previously that road was open to vehicular traffic but I can't remember when it was closed to traffic. Btw that roaring sound is made by the Tigers of the Taiping zoo part of which is just behind the wall to the left of where you were walking, yes there are elephants in the zoo but they're near the Zoo entrance which is much further than where you were 😄
Thanks for showing to the world
Thanks for your comprehensive excursions despite the intense heat
I would like to suggest you go to the next town, Kuala Kangsar (its the royal seat/town of Perak), nice buildings.....
That has really whetted my appetite for a return to Taiping . Very enjoyable . Have a great time in magnificent Ipoh .
It's a great city!

I loved Taiping. It has so much history and should attract way more tourists. This was my second visit.
