The List card is legal in draft now. Unfortunately the most expensive one you can pull is Ranger Captain of Eos.
The second card in the prerelease pack is not to be played as I understand it. It is just a bonus card promo.

The kits come with 1 of 3 legendary cards you are not allowed to use in the prerelease.

List cards are worse because they are legal in limited now, and the biggest difference between play and set booster is that play booster are draftable and replace both set and draft boosters
The second box had a playset of shocks which is pretty cool

So... am I missing something here? They increased the price of boosters and pre release kits for... essentially a draft but with set boosters set up worse? + 1 promo card I guess. In my country the minimum wage is 810€. The pre release packs used to cost 24€, now they cost 30€. What the shit is this?
I believe they increased the amount of packs in boxes as well so the per pack price will be on par if not a little less than sets were before to account for the lower pull rates.

I've seen some interesting discourse on this set so far. A lot of people are into it, and a fair amount aren't. I'd count myself in the former since the idea of murder mysteries and detectives sounds so awesome in a MTG setting. I plan to go to pre-release at my LGS.
I just paid for my prerelease! I am super excited. As a newer player, the prerelease really challenges my skill
I don’t have a lot of skill but the skill I do have gets challenged and it makes me better.

Charge us the same for set boosters except now its less cards, much harder to get more rares/mythics and less chance at the list
What’s the problem with the list if it takes up a slot that doesn’t matter too much in our packs?
Because these Play Boosters are replacing draft and set boosters. If you're getting a crap card in the one slot that may be a card from The List and you only end up with 14 playable cards (including the land) then it's a waste of a card slot. At least that's my interpretation of the sentiment.
I heard list cards in PB are legal in standard
@@JoeyMossBBG MTG's website does state that The List and Special Guest cards are legal for limited (draft, prerelease, etc). If the cards are not banned, then they should be legal in other formats as well, one would think.
