  • Batik is a method of dying fabric that originated in Indonesia, but it's also used in other parts of Southeast Asia, such as Singapore and Malaysia. From June 17, visitors of the Asian Civilisations Museum can embark on a journey tracing batik's traditional roots to contemporary designs at the new Batik Kita: Dressing in Port Cities exhibit. Curator Lee Chor Lin shared how the art of batik has bridged different histories and cultures.
