From my first Subaru, 96 outback, to my 16 Crosstrek, I love the care engineers gave in keeping maintenance easy.
Broke it down, step-by-step. Made it very simple. Thank you!
+Elena Cooper Thank you for the positive feedback and for watching!
Great video, 2014 XV Crosstrek with a blown brake light bulb - replaced! No worries about accidentally being rear ended now or getting a traffic summons thanks to your clear and informative video. You even gave the bulb part numbers in your video - awesome stuff! And avoided breaking stuff cause I was able to go right at it without guessing what to do.

Thanks so much, I looked up this video, watched it for a couple minutes and got all the info I needed to get the back light cover off. It worked like a charm!
You folks are the best. I've lost count of how many times your videos have helped me. Concise and informative.
Two things:
1. You are right about choosing the socket wrench over the screwdriver. I tried to go the screwdriver route and ended up just stripping the bolt a bit and going the socket wrench route in the end.
2. The instructions made this super clear and quick to replace my 2016’s brake light. Thank you!
Thank you, this helped me change my 2015 brake light bulb in only a few minutes
Literally took me 5-6 min to do both brake lights. Super easy. Thanks
Thanks for this! Was able to follow and replace. Excellent help.
Just changed my break light bulb in literally 10 min!! Thank-you!

Great guide, thank you!
This is really helpful. Thank you
THANKS GUYS!
Yes thank you! Retired and cannot always just take my car to get things like this done by Subaru dealer
Thank you for this video!
great video, thanks for the information
THANK YOU 😊
Big thanks
Very helpful. Thanks. QUESTION: You did not mention wearing nitrile gloves, so I did not bother to get any. Does the oil from your hands also affect tail light bulbs, or only headlights?
I was completely unable to detach the power cord. My friend went ahead and changed the bulb anyway. Is there danger from doing this, even when the car is turned off (but battery still installed)?
I read that the brake light needs to be a 7443CK as opposed to just a 7443, else you can/will blow the fuse. Can you confirm that?
I had a headlight bulb and a rear marker bulb out. Changed headlight bulb and still not working. Is that because the rear marker light is still out or something else causing it you think?
I suspect corrosion or some other problem with my wiring harness. I’ve found the part online for about $50, but my Subaru dealership says they will only replace the entire tail light assembly, which cost a lot more. Any reason why you can’t remove that wire harness and replace it?
Now if I can only find my 10 mm socket
saved me a lot of aggravation because I would have thought I broke it pushing it off the body!!
+George Young Thanks for checking us out! 1AAuto.com
I'm trying to change it on the Subaru crosstrek 2016 it has a bunch of brake lights not just one.
Sante sana
You don't really need an extension for that.
