Dooku's full name is Dooku Serenno, Count of Serenno.
The planet is named after his family.
This is Bo-katan's first time wielding the darksaber, and her acceptance of the sword from Sabine is why Bo-katan's a controversial figure by the time of the Mandalorian.

Satine Kryze was her full name, Duchess was Satine's title. The reason Bo Katan says it's named after her sister is because Satine was the only Duchess that Mandalore ever had. Before Satine took power, Mandalore's ruler was called Mandalore (yes the title was the same name as the planet).
On a similar note, you mentioned Count Dooku. Count is Dooku's title as ruler of the planet Serenno. (I won't give the exact circumstances of how he got the title, in case they later cover it in a season of Tales of the Jedi)

The Kryze rulers held the personal title Duke of Kalevala after their homeworld which we see in Mandalorian Season 3.
Satine wasn’t “Duchess of Mandalore” though i know there’s an episode called that. but she’s never referred to as such. She’s Duchess of Kalevala. she uses her personal title instead of Mand’alor since she’s a pacifist and the traditional royal title of the planet is very…violent.
Dooku was born noble actually. he inherited his titles from his father, the previous Count of Serrano. he couldn’t hold it while in the order but got it back when he left.
Ursa Wren, Sabina’s mom, is Countess of Krownest, the Wren homeworld

I'm pretty sure the titles in Star Wars are actual titles. Count Dooku was only called a count when he wasn't a jedi, Princess Leia was the adopted daughter of Queen Breha. They probably follow British rules that made Queen Elizabeth's husband not a king and if I only mentioned "the Queen" people would probably think I was talking about Beyonce....but if we were in the UK, we'd probably think Elizabeth since England has had less queens than kings.
The term your looking for is King/Queen Consort. That means you’re married to a king or a queen what are you don’t hold the same or greater level of status.

Since Chris brought up the Death Star, a fun fact via the canon marvel Star Wars comics series:
Jedha actually survived the Death Star, as Tarkin ordered them to destroy Jedha City only (Jedha as a planet was not important enough in his eyes to be worth destroying as a show of force), so they essentially fired the Death Star at low power mode. Luke Han and Leia later journey to the planet to help the populace overthrow the local garrison.
Also, Dooku’s name wasn’t Count Dooku, Count was his title he took after leaving the Jedi Order (his father’s title to be specific). On the planet his family ruled, Serrano, people only had 1 name, so his name is just “Dooku of Serrano”, Count being his title after he kills his brother to take the throne.

Nope. In canon Dooku is a member of House Serenno. Whilst members of said house normally only went by their first name their last name would technically be Serenno. Their planet is named after their house.

Tiber "Garth" Saxon was indeed Gar Saxon's brother but had a more hard-line imperial approval ideology to him

Fun. But the couch is one mustache too heavy.
Sabine is my favorite Rebels character by a mile, but can't say I'm a fan of the whole Duchess subplot. Adding superweapon designer to Sabine's resume was a bit much to be adding on top of already being a Rebel Mandalorian explosive expert, artist, ex-Imperial Cadet, ex-Bounty Hunter. And the resolution (and underlying moral) of the plot relied on some pretty heavy cartoon logic. That's my only complaint about these fantastic episodes -- the Mandalorian content in this show is consistently solid.

Vikings were hightly adaptive. They werent defeated on the battle front. They were defeated on the cultural front.
Thry took christians lands, stabilished themselves there. And started converting to chriatianity. Until eventually chriatianity spread towards the north and converted the last norse.
Yeah a lot of people always try to sympathize with Sabine and say its not her fault but sadly it really is. No one made her build this weapon, somewhere along the line she got the idea and decided to follow through, and here is where Sabine gave the DarkSaber away without following the tradition of having it won in combat which is why Bo refused to take it from Mando in the Mandalorian series.
Sabine OFFERED it, and Bo accepted it. No one made her, and no one cared about tradition of combat at all, it was always just a symbol if you managed to keep it. The Mandalorian changed that as if it were a formal legal custom of ruling. And the point is not to say what Sabine did is right - she must have been a preteen at the time, all she knows is "trust the Empire no matter what" like everyone else, and wanted to prove herself without thinking at all how bad it would be if the Empire couldn't be trusted. And she did a LOT to make up for it, to make the final charge against the Empire possible(As good a chance as they could've had, no one could've done anything about the entire planet being bombed), free her dad and destroy the weapon, despite the blood on her hands. People obsess over what a person deserves - that's not the point, why'd you do it, and what are you gonna do NOW moving forward.
Season Four begins with a return to Mandalore and reclaiming the planet for the Mandalorian people. Sabine, Ezra, Kanan & Chopper with their assorted allies, Sabine's family of Clan Wren, Protector Fenn Rau and former leader of Mandalore and sister of the late Duchess Satine Kryze, Bo-Katan.
Firstly they carry out a rescue mission against a Imperial prison convoy to rescue Sabine's father, Alrich Wren from the Imperials and their collaborator allies, the Super Commandos. Chopper pistol whips a stormtrooper, Ezra struggles with Jetpack flying and Sabine liberates her dad from captivity defeating the Imps and Commandos under Captain Hark.
He reports back to his superior, the Governor of Mandalore and brother of the late Gar Saxon, Tiber Saxon voiced with imperious glee by Tobias Menzies, Edmure Tully himself. Saxon is looking to use a weapon to bring the planet to heel for the Empire and tells Grand Admiral Thrawn that he will succeed once activated.
Of course Thrawn ain't easily impressed and deduces Saxon not knowing how to use the weapon, The Duchess to it's full potential and tells him to capture it's creator to better understand it and secure Mandalore for the Empire. The creator is none other than Sabine herself, made when she was in service to the Empire out of pride and arrogance which she then attempted to destroy it.
Her weapon being used against her own people is grimly shown when she and co. discover the aftermath of the Duchess' attack reducing Mandalorians to ash, vaporizing them through their Beskar armor. Her past sins hit hard when she thinks her mother and brother were victims of the attack, thankfully they were out of the blast zone.
Sabine and her allies devise a plan to stop Saxon and to neutralize the Duchess by leading a three pronged attack on his Star Destroyer housing the weapon. Ursa Wren will attack the Destroyer directly, Rau, Kanan & Ezra attack from below and Sabine and Bo-Katan infilitrate the ship to take out the Duchess.
Everything's going to plan..sike, Saxon is waiting for them and uses the Duchess to incapacitate them. He tells Sabine that the weapon will make him ruler of all Mandalorians and unless you want Bo-Katan to die here, calibrate it to it's full potential. His right hand, Captain Hark opposes this as he fears that the Empire will turn the weapon on Mandalore. Saxon blasts him for his trouble, for he is the Empire and all must bow before him.
However in his arrogance he fails to see that Sabine has turned the Duchess to it's full potential, against Imperials! stunning Saxon and his troopers. Which leads to the Mando resistance turning the tide, with Sabine using the Darksaber to take the Duchess out of commission for good. The ensuing instability leads to all of them fleeing the Star Destroyer as it explodes taking Tiber Saxon with it.
With the destruction of the Duchess, the defeat of the Imperial occupation force and the fall of the traitorous Clan Saxon, Mandalore is free once again. Sabine bequeaths the Darksaber to Bo-Katan as all the Clan leaders swear allegiance to her and she claims the leadership of the Mandalorian people once more.
Good start to the season, always fascinating to see the high flying combat and political struggles of the Mandalorians. Sabine's arc on Mandalore comes to a close as she reunites her family and liberates her planet from the Empire as well as fixing the mistakes she made in her youth.
Mandalorians are a people of diverse places, species and allegiances but their martial culture of war, honour and craftmanship binds them together. Beskar is their most lauded resource, it's resilient properties and it's myriad of uses are a cornerstone for them. Weapons are sacred to them and conflict is a noble calling to them. However their adherence to this traditions have left them divided and leaderless, their once verdant world reduced to a barren desert and their power and people dwindling to a shadow of their former glory.
Traditions can spell doom if they refuse to change, it's a hot take from Micky that I can agree with. Much more convincing than Thrawn isn't as smart as he thinks, patently untrue. The Mandos have a chance to adapt and survive in this new galaxy if they put their infighting aside and unite against a common enemy.

i want to point out that obi-wan "somehow" knew how to work a jet pack in clone wars perfectly. Ezra has been training to be a pilot for years at this point by Hera, an Ace of the republic in a time of war, yet Obi-wan got up to some nonsense back in the day on mandalore. Also How does Bo katan look like that now and obi-wan look like baked pizza? someone send that man some sun block.
To be fair, Obi Wan did hang out for an undetermined amount of time with Satine years before the Clone Wars. Plenty of time to fly around seeing the sites of peaceful Mandalore.

The Duchess was the perfect humane weapon to defeat the Empire with. It can be used to stun entire armies of Stormtroopers into unconsciousness. Giving the Rebels ownership of any battlefield. The fact that Bo said no to it and had it be destroyed robbed the Rebellion of a potential superweapon that would've given them battlefield supremacy on any ground battle, thereby prolonging the war. Imagine the Rebels deploying this thing on Hoth; that would've crushed the Imperial ground assault rather decisively and given the Rebels enough time to escape on their leisure.
Damn, the Mandalorians of the Filoniverse have Robb Stark levels of naivety. No wonder their planet got nuked.
Humane, you mean aside from it apparently subduing people with extreme pain until they are fried alive inside their armor?
@@benjaminportilla9297 They showed that it could obviously be set to a lower level to incapacitate enemy targets, like what Saxon was doing. A few more modifications and it would've been safe for use.

And then there are the partisans who actually are gonna use this to mass murderer anyone who is even close to imperial forces
I’ve always been fine with the Rebels art designs (besides Yoda and Anakin), but man, after watching Mandalorian, they did Katee Sackhoff dirty! She has aged like fine wine and looks younger in Mando, set years later, than she does here.
And then The Mandalorian ruined it by having Mandalore destroyed and the Dark Saber stolen, lmao.
Good Mandalorian are overrated trash that get stomped on by actual militaries.
It’s not like they had a good ruler. Bo kotan was never someone you trusted. During the clone wars she was a terrorist against her own sister because she had her feelings hurt.
She could have easily have spent time convincing her sister to develop a military that honors their traditions and defended her people. But no she chose to blow up her people and commit atrocities to her own nation
Than when someone follows her own traditions and challenges her leader for rulership she decides to break them
Now she goes and breaks her precious traditions by taking the dark saber without a fight.
She is a terrible leader who consistently follows her feelings over the course of decades.
So I fully believe she got the planet ruined
The reveal that Sabine’s mother and brother survived is so dumb. That first episode is so good and then you watch the second part and it just ruins it

@@ira233 Bo-Katan was the second in command of the terrorist group that caused Mandalore to collapse into war with itself, the death of its ruler, then caused the Empire to take over because she wanted the Republic to come in and clean her mess.
Then, after liberating Mandalore, she got it destroyed by the Imperial Remnant because she somehow believed Gideon when he said he'd leave the planet alone if she gave him the Darksaber, lol.
All this, because she was mad her sister got chosen to be ruler of Mandalore when they were teenagers.
