    1st, you don't need to preheat the Ninja foodi dual basket air fryer. 2nd, it's been said that basket 2 tends to cook hotter than basket 1. 3rd, Ninja foodi also states if you are using both baskets at the same time, then you need to increase the cooking time. 4th, I make wings fresh and from scratch. It only takes 20 minutes (15 minutes at 375 flipping half way through. The last 5 minutes at 400), which is still over less than half the time in the oven at 40-45 minutes! My dual basket is an even earlier version with only 5 functions and 6 qt capacity max. But I love it and I don't have a large family to feed so it's perfect for my needs. I got mine on sale for $99.99 Christmas 2 years ago!

    I just bought the 8qt for 40% off and when I saw the basket size got concerned it wouldn’t be enough for my family- your review really put me at ease! Great review- I liked the comparison on food variety, single layered test, and full basket. Considering the “older ninja” is more used and aged- I’m pleasantly surprised by its longevity with how it’s held up to a brand new model

    the 10qt has more volume to heat which can result in longer cook times as they are both the same wattage (1690w). For me the extra $40 for the "Smart Cook Thermometer" version could be worth it just for the extra 2qts dependant on family size.

  • @judyross182
    @judyross182 Рік тому +2

    Thank you for measuring the containers and telling us the size. Since I'm only cooking for myself, I got the smaller one. The higher wattage is why it cooked the fries and chicken nuggets faster. "It is science."

    Great review, I have the older model and HSN has the bigger one for $145 with flex pay and I almost got it but the wattage was the save for me. Also if the probe does not work then its a naw for me. Your review did help save my money as my older one still works. Jamie loved your added memes lol

    Fantastic, thorough review. I would go with the smaller one myself based on the price and basically the same features. The faster cooking time for the may due to the size of the basket, there's more air to heat up in the larger unit, thus a longer cooking time overall.

    This doesn’t make sense.. putting the same amount of food into each basket when not the same size. It’s only natural the biggest basket will cook faster because the volume of the basket is less then the smaller basket 🤷‍♂️

    Also I have another question so when I put the fries and nuggets on 390 and 15 minutes what time do I go back to check it and shake it and know when it’s done? Do I just let the air fryer cook them till it says it’s done? And also how do I use it for the mozzarella sticks what temperature and time do I put for mozzarella sticks? And when do I know when it’s done to like let the time run out, and to go back to check it to shake them

    • @TheAverageKitchen
      @TheAverageKitchen  4 місяці тому

      Follow the chart in the book to see times and temps. I would check/shake them every 7-8 mins or so. And as for when they're done, it depends on how well done you like the food, so that's up to you. - J

    So I bought the “old version” to find out it’s the same watt as the “new version”. Difference is the size, color and look of the control panel (also the thermometer vs none). Bought the “old version” from Amazon but then got a better deal of the “new version” directly from Ninja Kitchen.
    Pros and cons of both. I like the size of the baskets on the newer one but like the control panel on the older one. I’ll probably never use the thermometer. But one think I’m about to test, unless you can tell me: does the sides get warm on both models? Meaning the plastic? I didn’t notice it on the older one but definitely notice it on the newer one. Is this a flaw?
