1st, you don't need to preheat the Ninja foodi dual basket air fryer. 2nd, it's been said that basket 2 tends to cook hotter than basket 1. 3rd, Ninja foodi also states if you are using both baskets at the same time, then you need to increase the cooking time. 4th, I make wings fresh and from scratch. It only takes 20 minutes (15 minutes at 375 flipping half way through. The last 5 minutes at 400), which is still over less than half the time in the oven at 40-45 minutes! My dual basket is an even earlier version with only 5 functions and 6 qt capacity max. But I love it and I don't have a large family to feed so it's perfect for my needs. I got mine on sale for $99.99 Christmas 2 years ago!
I just bought the 8qt for 40% off and when I saw the basket size got concerned it wouldn’t be enough for my family- your review really put me at ease! Great review- I liked the comparison on food variety, single layered test, and full basket. Considering the “older ninja” is more used and aged- I’m pleasantly surprised by its longevity with how it’s held up to a brand new model
the 10qt has more volume to heat which can result in longer cook times as they are both the same wattage (1690w). For me the extra $40 for the "Smart Cook Thermometer" version could be worth it just for the extra 2qts dependant on family size.
I love the temperature prob on my ninja grill it works every time only way i cook 🥩 i have the old dual basket and love it my daughter's got it for Christmas and i use it all the time love watching yall review's
Great review, I have the older model and HSN has the bigger one for $145 with flex pay and I almost got it but the wattage was the save for me. Also if the probe does not work then its a naw for me. Your review did help save my money as my older one still works. Jamie loved your added memes lol
Thank you for measuring the containers and telling us the size. Since I'm only cooking for myself, I got the smaller one. The higher wattage is why it cooked the fries and chicken nuggets faster. "It is science."
I know u can´t really answer this. But why the EU versions looks so different? We had a dial knop in the middel and mutch smaller dispaly. I ordered the Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone today and can´t wait. Love your videos. Greetings from germany.
Also I have another question so when I put the fries and nuggets on 390 and 15 minutes what time do I go back to check it and shake it and know when it’s done? Do I just let the air fryer cook them till it says it’s done? And also how do I use it for the mozzarella sticks what temperature and time do I put for mozzarella sticks? And when do I know when it’s done to like let the time run out, and to go back to check it to shake them
Follow the chart in the book to see times and temps. I would check/shake them every 7-8 mins or so. And as for when they're done, it depends on how well done you like the food, so that's up to you. - J
Well, it’s not a review, but it’s a comparison of wood fire vs traditional oven pizza. One of our older videos !! ua-cam.com/video/ofg4Ui8sZpM/v-deo.html Marc.
Hello, I just saw your video and help me decide. I was searching on youtube for the most newest video on air fryers. I need one since my hubby and I need to get healthier.and my son keeps saying air fryer the way to go. My only concern we family of 2 but when we have guest we cook for 5.
This doesn’t make sense.. putting the same amount of food into each basket when not the same size. It’s only natural the biggest basket will cook faster because the volume of the basket is less then the smaller basket 🤷♂️
I have the 400 and considered the 451 for the probe and the digital controls instead of the manual dial but for £70 difference the probe deal isn’t worth is since watching your reviews . I’ll use my own probe .
So I bought the “old version” to find out it’s the same watt as the “new version”. Difference is the size, color and look of the control panel (also the thermometer vs none). Bought the “old version” from Amazon but then got a better deal of the “new version” directly from Ninja Kitchen. Pros and cons of both. I like the size of the baskets on the newer one but like the control panel on the older one. I’ll probably never use the thermometer. But one think I’m about to test, unless you can tell me: does the sides get warm on both models? Meaning the plastic? I didn’t notice it on the older one but definitely notice it on the newer one. Is this a flaw?
I'd love to see a video focused on the one on the right (DZ550?) That focuses on a) third party accessories b) the different functions of the unit, how and where you would use them. BTW, I just recently got the DZ550 on sale for US$200
How about this is a video comparing two air fryers. I would never cook pork chops, meatloaf etc in an air fryer. I’d smoke them on my Traeger or over charcoal. Thanks for the positivity. Marc

Hey. I want to buy a new air fryer. Between Cosori Dual Blaze and Philips XXL Smart, which one would you choose?
We haven't tried the Phillips but the Cosori works very well. - J

Awesome ! Thanks for watching and the comment. Marc
Clear and understandable voice! Thank You for that.
Thank you so much for very kind words. Marc
Great video. FYI, can't measure sound decibels with the device TOUCHING the machine due to vibrations, should keep the microphone 12 inches away.
Good to know thanks ! Marc
I have the original one. It's the perfect size for me. I'll buy a new one when/if it breaks. Thanks for the great review guys!
Thanks for watching and the comment !! Marc

I just got the 10qrt, and I think it's perfect size, glad I didn't get anything smaller
THE videos you two make are very informative, and always fun to watch and learn. Keep the great job up.
Thank you so much !! We really appreciate that !! Marc
Hi from the uk Great video I have the new one with the probe I love it cooks really well looks nice on the side too
Hey ! Thanks for watching and the comment !! Marc 🇨🇦
Great video., thank you for the comparison test.
Thanks very much for watching and the comment !! Marc

Great honest review!
Thanks! - J
Great video guys, made my mind up for me 😘
Awesome thanks !!! Let us know how you like it !! Marc
Thank you so much i glean so much from both of you
Thank you for watching!! Marc
I am guessing the smaller air fryer gets things crispy quicker due to the very fact that its smaller - less space to circulate the hot air in!
Yup. Makes sense to me. Marc
Great review, I have the older model and HSN has the bigger one for $145 with flex pay and I almost got it but the wattage was the save for me. Also if the probe does not work then its a naw for me. Your review did help save my money as my older one still works. Jamie loved your added memes lol
Thanks so much! Yes I would say it's not worth the upgrade if you already have the original. - J
probe works well simply and accurate the only thing is you cant set medium to get medium you njeed to set around 49 degrees finished
👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you for measuring the containers and telling us the size. Since I'm only cooking for myself, I got the smaller one. The higher wattage is why it cooked the fries and chicken nuggets faster. "It is science."

I just got mines today for Christmas I can't see what's the hype

That’s very interesting !!! I love Germany, been there twice !! Prost !! 🍻. Marc
So with the price of the older model 159.99$ and the newer model price at 199.99$ what will you pick?
Older, just based on price. Marc
@TheAverageKitchen thanks much, yeah it's only for me and my 8 year old
Let us know how you like it.
If you don't mind where did you buy the nuggets from and what brand is it?
I believe the brand is Janes. And they would be from any grocery store, likely Walmart in this case. - J
The newer one at Costco has only 1 basket that has a pull out seperator that makes it 2 baskets for cooking.
It sure does. We reviewed it here! ➡️ua-cam.com/video/Rof5AiLdLrU/v-deo.html - J
Awesome video! Im curious, who gets to eat all of the yummy food? 😂
We do of course! Lol. Thanks for watching! - J
These models don't have to be preheated, right?
That’s what they say. I always do tho. Marc
Hey i need an opinion! the DZ550 is on sale for 130! is it worth it over a single basket
That’s a really good price.
@@TheAverageKitchen Thanks man!! I just ordered
Are the baskets Teflon or Ceramic coated? There seems to be some confusion on that.
Great question. Not sure the answer tho. Marc
Teflon
Baskets are teflon. The plate in the bottom ceramic
I just bought the Ninja Foodi. Do you always pre-heat before using?
I never do. - J
I always do however lol. Marc
@@TheAverageKitchen thanks!
Does the crisper plate fall out of the basket upon dump?
It could yes. It’s wedged it. But not 100%. Needs to be removed for cleaning. Marc
Love ur name by the way. Great movie !
Bought the one on the right, today 8/21/23. Q: Do people only cook wings, nuggets & fries in these AFs? 🤔
Haha no, you can cook a bunch of different stuff! - J
I just bought the smaller one three days ago for $100 But I did not use it yet
Great deal!
You forgot to cover the SMART COOK feature on the new version. what kind of review is that?
It was a comparison, check out our full review. We covered it don't worry ua-cam.com/video/4NXa275H-VQ/v-deo.html - J
Just bought the 7.5l at cdn T for much less then the 9l.
Let us know how you like it!
Hi big fan. Can you please review the ninja creami ???
Thanks so much! We've been kicking that idea around for sure. Stay tuned! - J
A little unrelated but what kind of wings were those?
If I remember correctly, a brand called President's Choice here in Canada. Breaded wings. - J
I believe I read online that these units were not made in the same country or factory. The DZ401 had more metal internal over the DZ550
That’s possible. Not sure. Thanks for watching. Marc
Any chance of a wood fired oven review?
Well, it’s not a review, but it’s a comparison of wood fire vs traditional oven pizza. One of our older videos !!
ua-cam.com/video/ofg4Ui8sZpM/v-deo.html
Marc.

🤙
How do I buy a manual
For the unit ?
This doesn’t make sense.. putting the same amount of food into each basket when not the same size. It’s only natural the biggest basket will cook faster because the volume of the basket is less then the smaller basket 🤷♂️
Hence the comparison. Thanks for watching! - J
Did you watch the whole video? The bigger basket had to cook the same amount of fries longer.
Doesn't make sense, but it turns out the bigger fryer takes longer.
Thank You.
Thanks for watching! - J
I have the 400 and considered the 451 for the probe and the digital controls instead of the manual dial but for £70 difference the probe deal isn’t worth is since watching your reviews . I’ll use my own probe .
I agree ! Thanks for watching. Marc
Can u cook buffalo chicken dip in them
I suppose in theory you could, although I don't think I'd recommend that at all. - J
Ninja just doesn't stop. Make room on your countertop, now they released the "Flexdrawer". Get your visa ready.
Ours will be ready! Thanks for watching. - J

I paid too much for mine, shit
I wish there was more scratch proof accessories for this model
👍🏼
Has books directly on top of unit, where it says, never place anything on here, ever. Lol
We live on the edge. Marc
😊
😀
hall-a-pee-no lmao
👍
How bout making some real food, pork chops, meatloaf, you know food that people over the age of 6 eat.

Yall need tk start cooking raw wings theu taste wayyyy better and the skin gets crispier
Oh we do, don't worry! Thanks for watching! - J
