Jimmy treats Ireland like it's Narnia.
And the way Americans say Ireland is hilarious.
Eeeeyyyerrrlaand.
For a lot of people, it is.

Spent few months in Galway, I'm not Irish. Best country in the world, hospitality to strangers is awesome, pubs are fantastic. People are genuine and helpful. I hope to get back one day. Best people in the world
Oh my God thanks! 🤗

People have no idea how friendly, tolerant and welcoming are Irish people in Ireland till you visit and you aren't white ;) As an Indian, i have never been shown so much love outside of India. Sending lots of love to Irish people from india :) !
+Vikram 20 Cheers brother EIRE 32
+Vikram 20 Awesome to hear! :)
How lovely to see nice, positive comments on the internet.
We are nice to everyone, not just Indians. I have never met an Indian person I didn’t like btw!
I’ve met other people who generally are not nice.
I’m Irish n although I lived in England, I still have s lot of resentment because of history but I’m cool with admitting that.
Ireland n India: Ireland 🇮🇪 India 🇮🇳
you both have a great reason to hate imperialist britain, haha
I've been to an Irish pub lock-in and it's terrific. The publican (proprietor of the bar)locks the door has all the regulars already there singing and somebody is bound to have a guitar or wind instrument to go along with the piano already there. My relatives in West Yorkshire, England have lots of Irish in their blood. The Irish fled the awful 1840's Famine and built the canals in the north of England, worked the mills and factories and their influence is incredible in Liverpool, Manchester, Huddersfield, Sunderland, Wolverhampton, Middlesborough and so on. I'm proud to have some Irish in my blood.
Chris,
Have you seen the film, “Brooklyn” starring Saoirse Ronan? It’s a superb film.
The film also features the wonderful Dame Julie Walters. She portrays the feisty Mrs. Keyhoe, Eilis Lacey’s landlady in Brooklyn, As Dame Walters’ mother was from Ireland, Dame Walters’s really nails the Irish accent perfectly.
Oh yeah, Saoirse Ronan SHOULD have won Best Actress for her outstanding performance in this terrific film.
saoirse ronan in every interview:
host: so about irish things...
The questions are reviewed beforehand by "her team" and approved/changed by them. None of these interviews are improvised. The reason she discussed her name so much as she became more well-known was for the lack of a better term "branding." People were seeing her name more/seeing her in more movies so it was important that people knew how to say her name, where she is from, etc. Being Irish is the next step in getting people to know who she is/what she is about. Basically all of this is very carefully orchestrated by her PR/agent team.
Or as Saoirse would say, Irish 'tings'. Love her! 💚
Every video about Saoirsie Ronan has "irish" in the title.
We got it, she's irish.
Beside that, she's adorable and cute and a talent acrtress.
Yeah they should all say Bronx-born Saoirse Ronan, and then people can yell that she doesn't sound anything like Harvey Keitel.
She's actually not Irish though 😂
Brenda Mullins yes she is
She wasn't even born in Ireland
Paul FitzGerald 🤣🤣that dosent mean she’s not Ireland wtf who lead you to believe that shit🤣🤣🤣
She's so awesome!! Love her accent, it's so contagious. Makes me wanna say everything in an Irish accent
Haha I'm Irish:)
Please don't
try the lines for lucky charms commercial in Irish accent
+MAC Lippy "Irish Accent" There is like 20 different ones
MAC Lippy what you mean ... There's like a 2 different accents for each of the counties in Ireland ... And her accents I actually don't like because that's the real Dublin accent and it's not as nice as the other accents ... I'm from the south of Ireland or republic but like we sound better then saoirse... And Americans why can't you say her name right .. Like jaysus
All the Americans commenting on this vid saying they love her accent, makes me feel wierd to be Irish
+Solomon Grundy not all of us talk like that😂
same O_O
Not all american think that way... you should know that lol
Ikr
+Allen Walker That is the most saddening thing I've heard all month.
Her accent is almost as pretty as she is.
@hij thank u
@@gig1003 Strong Dublin accent. Like mine. I live city centre.
Too bad americans dont have any of those features, Americans remind me of little pests.. got to kick them away every now and then.
They're literally the autistic cousin of the world, or just the teachers pet, they grass all the time.
@@hetbet3879 She was born in America.
@@mjj5276 Yup...During a stop-over by her Irish parents.
she is stunning
SHE IS HONESTLY THE CUTEST PERSON EVER I WANT A GPS IN HER VOICE
a want a GPS in gordon ramseys voice
This young lady is a delight. She has a firm sense of her own ancient culture. I would have liked to hear her sing a whole pub song. Who will make this happen? We'll all probably have to go to her local pub and wait for the lock-in.
It happens in many pubs basically, its something to see for sure. Sometimes its not singing, its just quiet chatting. Can go on til all hours of the morning. Any night of the week
My boyfriend is Irish (but lives in America) and I totally get the singing part! Some nights I talk to him about anything bad during the day, he'd make me feel better and then break off into some kind of song. I had to give him a 15-sec limit on his singing before I tell him to quit it, but that is why the Irish culture is my favorite thing ever
hahahah
I adore how she says "em" instead of "um"
+HoustonProductions1 i'm european myself tbh and i never thought about it lol but i think we all say "em" here and not "um"
+HoustonProductions1 I'm from Belfast in Northern Ireland and would never say Um, it feels unnatural =D 'Em' all the way =D
+Mark McKeown if you wanna go the distance you say "aaam"
+HoustonProductions1 Yeah its a UK thing.
Conor O'Carroll Well I mean Ireland and UK and that whole area. "Um" is very North American and also kind of a universal generic sound people make for same purpose. "Em" is characteristic of European English speaking regions.
She's so cute
Agreed...
+Linkyst Same view here. But guys don't you think that she is too white?? Like close to being an albino
+Jameel Saeed agreed
***** How am I a racist? Judging someone by their skin color is racist. Disliking someone because of their color is racist. I was just giving an opinion on how white she is mate.
+Jameel Saeed what do you mean too white? Albino? Wtf its just her skin tone. Stfu.
I fancy her. She's also Irish and so spontaneous and fun, it seems.
Every Fallon interview:
* Lets the guest speak for 15 seconds, responding with disingenuous laughter
* Interrupts with his own anecdote for 10 mins
* Laughs at his own jokes
* Some sort of impersonation

I like Conan better. Jimmy has talent, but Conan is an OG. Best late night talk show host right now
knifeforkandaspoon You missed
*unintelligible garbles.
knifeforkandaspoon he mumbles too much. like me... i hate it
Conan and Kimmel are much better interviewers. They're more attentive and sympathetic.
One of my friends was the manager of a great pub in Dublin. I can relate to what she was saying with the guards being the place. One time we were all in a lock in at 5 in the morning and there was a bang on the door, and the manager opened it, to a guard. The guard said "what the hell do you think yis are doing? you know it's illegal to serve alcohol at this time?" And then he just started laughing and said "I'm only messing, keep drinking". The manager was friends with him and used him to prank us. Never have been so close to shitting myself. ;p
I've been in a lock-in as she called it, in both Ireland & Scotland.
Although at the time we called it being Tapped. As that is what happened both times in each Country. We were tapped on the shoulder from behind, and had to have it explained to us that we were to stay after closing when the Pub closed, with Others that were also tapped.. And in both Countries all the drinks were on the house the rest of the night.
*Garda, not guards.
@@Hellwyck if you're irish you refer to them as the guards. Garda or gardai is only used in sarcasim.🙂
She doesn't get enough credit! Her accent is so cute, and her acting talent is amazing. And I love her pretty natural looks.
+gigi black Her acting was so good in Atonement as the bratty girl that destroyed the relationship that I hated her for years, until I saw her in Brooklyn and was able to see her in a new light.
sorry but her accent is very forced
Simp
@@user-fr2ne3kk6pa lot of people say that, but any interview I see her in, she seems to sound the same. If she is forcing It, at some stage she's gonna drop at some moments.
Although for someone who grew up in carlow, and picked up mostly dublin twang, I can understand why some do think it is forced
She makes me want to go visit Ireland. She seems to be very proud of her country and the Irish people.
should come to Ireland you'll love it 🇮🇪🇮🇪
I walked by her in dublin a few months back.i recognised her instantly as I had just watched Hannah the week before.I said Hi and told her she was great in the film, she smiled and said thanks walking off.Very down to earth pretty lady
She's walking alone? Or with her friend?
Her accent and innocent look... Just adorable😍😍
There's not a more cute and bubbly accent that exists than Irish
I love the Irish accent! It is, in my opinion, the sexiest accent ever!
I’m Irish (south) and her accent is put on/over exaggerated to distinguish herself
@@idfkdude4493 yeah I’m from limerick and that accent that she had is completed bullshit and the accent is not often that apparent anyway so the way she is speaking is complete bullshite
Well being Irish, I can only say... so glad that Saoirse is not "putting on" an accent!! Good woman Saoirse, that's what I like to hear. You are so right about Irish people just bursting out in song at an occasion!!
She's so talented! One of my favourite actresses. She's incredible.
I love her accent. It's so relaxing to listen to.
Its not real she put it on lol that is south dublin😂
+Ciara Hurely Bullshit. Accents are just weird sometimes. I'm Scottish and don't have my town's accent. Yall are too quick to judge her.
I went to Ireland last year. Wonderful country. I spent 30 days there and it was my first experience abroad. Miss it.
I'm from cork in Ireland by kinsale and this is so how we used to go out. You stay on the rural pubs as less chance of the guards coming and you could be there til morning. Bare in mind our pubs close at 11.30
You can't beat a lock In 🍺😁

It's put on we don't talk like that. It's too strong an accent
Kieran you can't generalise a whole country. Some people do have accents that strong.
When Irish eyes are smiling

In the lilt of Irish laughter

When Irish hearts are happy

love this girl! so glad that she's doing so well
I love and miss Ireland so much! It's great to listen this kind of stories. Make me love and miss that amazing small country even more!!! Love you Saoirse!
I had the honour of travelling down around Cork and Kinsale area a few years ago, stunning countryside, very much like the south west of my own country Scotland. Two events spring to mind more than the others, the first being in a very busy country pub in a wee village not far from Cork, I went to the toilet and when I came back the pub was almost empty, all the drinks were still on the tables, cigarettes and lighters too, the glasses all had beer mats sitting on top, when I asked the barman what had happened he replied, " Oh, sure they've all gone to mass, they'll be back shortly", and sure enough they all came back and carried on drinking. The other was, again, in a country pub, my wife and two wee lassies were with me, we were driving around and decided to stop for lunch, we spotted a pub and went in to ask if they did bar lunches, the man behind the bar said, " Sorry, we don't but I'll have a word with my Mrs. she'll be happy to make you something from our fridge", that will live with me forever.
Saoirse is so beautiful, she's a celtic goddess or a valkyrie, I actually can picture her like a valkyrie with the wings and the armor lol
Weird culture mix there, since Valkyries are mythical Norse figures!
I doubt this I what he was aiming at but she is from Dublin, a town founded by vikings
I could listen to her for hours. Well, not just her, just about everyone with an Irish accent. 🍀🍀
Irish Lock-Ins are fun. Even when pubs officially have to close, you can stay on drinking and having fun. When I was there the lights were dimmed and shutters closed (because some of the small town pubs are that cute) and you keep having a great time. Its the kind of secret thats not a secret but everyone reminds you to remain hush hush. I love Ireland
The Irish national lock-in is fun. Even when the nation is officially broke and supposed to be closed for business, you can stay on drinking and having fun. When I was there the lights were undimmed soon enough and the shutters whacked back open (the small-time smug in their snugs oblivious to all this) so that the message is get out there and keep on having fun. It's an open secret that the nation is flush, flush with the same old mush. I ... still love the place, however.
happens very occasionally.
She's such a delightful person. Proud to be Irish.
Our best export! Handles herself with grace and a phenomenal personality. Makes me proud to be Irish; our era of Maureen O Hara
She's so lovely.
Gotta love her. I think everyone is in love with her by now.
She's always amazing in every movie I've seen her in. Like serious talent no joke
She is awesome. The movie Brooklyn made me cry.
I'm just so much in love with her accent
Me too!
I could listen to her for hours and hours!
I'm American and I lover accent, and I love the Irish in general; such a hardy people.
Love you tooooo!!!
Saoirse is pure legend.
And, of the folk I know here abouts, we are all pretty proud of her.
Ireland is, more or less, one big village.
We don't all know each other but it's mental who you can meet at a funeral or wedding here, so many connections.
I visited a small town in west cork when I was in my early 20s and had the pleasure of a few lock ins, had drinks with the gourds and the owners... on one memorable night I ended up running the bar as it was the owners last night and he got to drunk to serve! Another customer showed me how to run the glass washer and it was €2.90 for any drink but you needed to bring back 2 glasses as well! One of the best nights of my life!
2:50 I love it when she said 'owner'
We have lock ins across the British isles and basically they allow you to drink after hours and smoke indoors, because you’re there as the guests of the pub owner
She is actually the most gorgeous person alive😍
i went to Ireland and was shocked that not everyone has an accent as strong as hers lol
Well if ur from clare we don't really have an accent it wouldn't be as strong as hers clare accents are probably the closest to americans
+Brendonmakesmesmile It really depends on where you go. Every county has it's own accent and then it depends what part of the county sometimes. For example, Galway has a pretty small city and those people have softer accents than the rest of the county which is rural. The people out in the countryside of Galway are impossible to understand if you're not from the area.
I was in Dublin but I did go to Clare to visit the cliffs and Clare accents are kind of close to Newfoundland accents in Canada!
+Brendonmakesmesmile The actress who plays Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter has a thicker irish accent than Saorise.
Yeah Im from Ireland and have lived here my whole life and my accent is nowhere as strong as hers lol
that part where they commented on "LEAP YEAR" made me think! I think I wanna go to Ireland just to experience what they said here! 😍
Great actress, funny, charming, gorgeous and that voice...the whole package
She is so cool i love how chill she is and cute awwww please make her a household name
I've lived in the US now for 11 years and I have to say that I do miss lock ins. Great memories......from what I can remember.
Accurate description. The reason why we do lock ins is because there are laws about serving alcohol after a certain time (pubs and nightclubs have different times). So in the local bars out in the middle of nowhere where everyone knows each other there isn't really any harm in serving beer till 3am or all night in some cases because they usually have local taxi companies getting business as well and they are usually pretty fun nights out.
+Shane Fagan But still don't understand the purpose in locking the door?
+Milena K
In case someone decides to scoop the pub/nightclub owner
+Milena K so other people can't get in, including the garda
@@artemis_lena When you lock the door it is no longer a public establishment, but rather a private party of you and your friends. At least that is the argument you would make to the magistrate.
She is so gifted and lovely. She seems like a nice person too.
There is no accent more adorable.
Am Irish 💚 I love the boston accent 🙂 great times i had in america & they were just so good to me because i was Irish.. loved Boston 🙂
I could listen to her talk all day...I guess I'll be learning an Irish accent this spring break.
Songs are so pervasive everywhere because you simply cannot lie in a song. It will always be truthful to the time and is always well done!
Gosh, she seems like such a sweet, kind young lady and so cute! There is something very light and airy about her. Has grown into a beautiful young woman.
Gosh I'm in love with that accent !!!!

she is just such a charming person
Hello everyone - im in Kinsale! Love an ole lock-in. The most beautiful town twinned with Rhode Island. Best restaurants its a foodies dream.
In the name of loving fuck, the only people here giving her a hard time are the Irish. You're embarrassing the island, lads. Can we not just be proud of one of our own for making something of hereself?
Also, big-up to Kinsale Jimmy! If I'd have known you were there I'd have let ya buy me a pint.
That's wat happens ... Jealous bastards ... I'm proud to see any Irish make it big time. I do be great to see when it happens.
Nope we don't like her
As an Irishman, I respectfully debunk your statement.
+Trev Moran It's about not being fake. Her accent is clearly put on.
SirTrollsAlot1000 it's a lot harder to speak when you're on a famous talk show and you're self conscious, besides all actors put everything on, they're fucking actors, its their job, you're all a bunch of jealous wankers
Went to NYC for St. Patrick's day was in the same pub from 12:00 noon till 5am had the best time of my life. Love the Irish and the lock in.....
She sums up Ireland perfectly
I used to be in theater, and even before that, I was always good at learning character voices and accents. I've taught people a sort of basic, south of Ireland accent before. The first thing I always tell them is that many Irish (not all) were traditionally seafarers/fishermen, and you can hear and feel the rolling of the waves in the accent. Not heavily, just a charming hint. It's a place to start when practicing. You can hear it plainly in her inflections. You also hear another earmark of the Irish sound, which can be overdone: the lilt. That sense of sentence endings sometimes not quite sounding like endings, but more like a mild question, or an unfinished thought. Again, easily overdone to a cartoonish level, it's a nuance. It's a musicality, a meter, a bright tone, but still conversational. Beautiful.
3:01 my god, she's so cute!
I clicked on this and she took my breath away. She looks stunning!! I knew she was beautiful but I was not expecting that 😍
It's a very nice accent to listen to, particularly around phrases like "birthday party". She's grown up quite stable from being an excellent child actress, nice to see.
