Since I am new to garment making they all are curious to me but am getting thru. I think interfacing is my challenge…like what weight and iron on or stitch. Thank you for explaining and showing slowly too.
Very interesting on your manual sliding forward! When hand basting, I will “leap forward”. I never thought about the freedom on manually manipulating the machine stitch. Very cool! Thank you! 👏👏👏
I thought I learned that stitching a basting stitch was just one long line of continous stitches.... I own the 6700P and it shows me how to set my machine up for the basting stitch, but I am afraid that I don't understand how to do it. I am trying to follow the instructions, but all the machine does is sew one stitch and it stops. I am really getting aggravated!!!
Another way to sew a basting stitch is to simply lengthen the stitch by turning the Stitch Length Adjusting Dial (page 32, #4) to 5. The machine will not stop after one stitch, and you can sew a continuous seam. If you need personal assistance, please email us at: custrel@janome-america.com
Sorry, but this is the most crazy, awkward thing. These sophisticated machines and they can't do a stitch-skip-skip-skip-stitch pattern or something like that to baste? What?
useful tips! proper use of a seamripper is also very informative.
