I didn`t get it before, but one day I "understood" that her constantly changing arrangements emulate/reflect states of her life.THIS version of Zion is the PRAISE & JOY she feels in being delighted in Zion as opposed to the epiphany & proclamation of her album version. She`s still innovating with her musicality, regardless of commercial or critical acclaim. She`s expressing for the love of it & I got mad respect for her!
Lauryn makes a statement in everything she does. Her clothing, the way in which she's singing her old songs, nothing about her is commercial anymore... she's so free. People will look at this and compare her to the old Lauryn but she will never be the same.... she's not about that. This is about more than appearance and sounding perfect this is about freedom!
I love that at the end of her shows she brings out her children that to me is her way of letting her fans know she loves us all but she has a greater love for her kids and family she walked away from a career for something wayyyy more important...and she looks beautiful and she's wearing that suit
as fans, sometimes we tend 2 forget that the celebrities we admire are just as human as we are. they love, they hurt, they dream and sometimes life's struggles create mountains that r too hard 4 them to scale. but in the midst of the trial, our admiration dissipates b/c we want them to remain this superior entity w/ the will & restraint 2 rise above it. this performance shows just how strong she truly is. much love and respect 2 a phenomenal woman & entertainer. ur miseducation, educated me.

Why is Zion always sleep! This is a motif in his life! I remember kids (South Side Chicago) walking down the street early in the morning singing this song - top of there lungs- on there way to school 7:30am echoes off the quiet building sun coming up...it was a time!
I know what you mean. I had the same experience. It is hard to watch her some times because she is so real -- she does not mask her pain and wheres the changes she is going through on her shoulder and without shame or explanation. She is truly a queen if I have ever seen one. I pray for her often. She has good days and bad days like the rest of us. She just has hers in public. I am glad to hear her singing so well here. She had such a beautiful and soulful singing voice. I love her.
