@@LivingWalks No, I hadn't patronized that particular cafe. Rua de Santa Maria had too many offerings not to try those out. I didn't see Dubrovnik, Croatia, among your video collection. My guess is you could do quite well with it if you setup through the locals to film the walk atop the city wall a half hour prior to opening in the morning and again at sunset, splicing the two together for your final product. Hello, my dearest Y&M! How are you? Is everything okay for the return home? I hope the situation is better than when you left, my dearest freinds! Here we have improvements and for this they are limiting the restrictions, but in my opinion they do very badly ... I hope the homecoming wasn't too traumatic! You made me discover Madeira! I knew it by name of course, but I didn't imagine it was such a livable and beautiful place in all seasons! Definitely a destination to put on your wish list !! I wish you a wonderful weekend! My big embrace and much love from Milan! Renata
Hi dear Renata, thank you for thinking of us. Yes, everything was okay for our return home and it went very smoothly and easily for us thankfully? The situation here is alas a bit worse than when we left but the vaccinations seem to be happening in large numbers, so that's progression. Good to hear that you have improvements in Milan, I hope that that will continue and the upcoming warm weather will help too? I'm so pleased that we helped you to discover Madeira! A livable and beautiful place in all seasons it is indeed! So yes, definitely a destination to put on your wish list!! We would have stayed longer that 6 weeks if we could and we'll def' return when we can. So dear Renata we too wish you a wonderful weekend and I hope the weather is better there than in rainy UK? A big embrace and much love from both of us. xx
@@LivingWalks My dearest Y&M! Sorry for the late reply but yesterday I had a busy day !! I am really happy to know that you have had a wonderful long vacation and that there have been no problems upon your return. Yes, now we have the hope of the vaccine but here as in other European countries the vaccination program is delayed because the promised quantities do not arrive in compliance with the contracts. This is bad! Let's hope for the best, because otherwise we will take too long! Here now there will be fewer restrictions from tomorrow but I fear it will not be good. When you have to rely on people's conscience and sense of responsibility it can be a big mistake ... I think of you and I hope that you are always safe and healthy. BIG hug and much love from Milan! Renata

I guess at the time this was filmed Madeira (being so far away from Portugal) had very low numbers. I take your point though A! And yes, a place to go in better times indeed.
Hi Diogo, yes indeed, I guess the fact that it's so far away from the mainland has helped somewhat. It's a beautiful island isn't it are you from Madeira?
@@LivingWalks No, unfortunatelly! I am in Mainland Portugal, in Almada, a municipality that has an hospital which is about 220% over its usual capacity. Probably yes, being an island helps, but Madeira also restricted a lot in the last month - in December the region didn't have curfews, but now it has.
Hi @@diogorodrigues747 I'm sorry to hear that, we can only hope that things will get better soon. I do very much hope so. Yes when we were in Madeira (up to last week) we had the evening curfew. Hi there Tom, good to connect with you. Yes it's a rather interesting place isn't it. Have you been to the little cafe below it by the waterfront, that's quite charming too. Thanks for dropping by. All the best to you.
Buza Bar has a great vantage point outside the city wall.

Dam I love Madeira! I'll be there in 1 - 2 years.
Ah how wonderful for you, I can think of no lovelier place.
Beautiful video, many thanks. Edgar

Renata
Is Funchal it's only island? Is this the place were you can find the basket cars? Obrigada. love your videos.
That's right Anna, it's an Island and you can indeed find the basket cars!
Thanks for this amazing video 👍👍👍👍👍 Have you visit Madeira this year?
Hi there fellow traveler. Yes we visited for a couple of months over Christmas. It's a beautiful island. Hope you get to visit someday, I'd recommend it.
@@LivingWalks I visited in 1979.
@@LivingWalks After watching your video I've added to my travel list 😀
Waren im Januar 2020 auf der Insel. Wunderschön!!?
Hallo Elke, wir müssen an dir vorbei gegangen sein, da bin ich mir sicher. Wir hatten das Glück, dort zu sein, nicht wahr?

This is such a beautiful place. Love the ambience here thanks for sharing this greetings from NYC 🗽
Glad you enjoyed it NYW, yes it's really one of our favourite places anywhere and we felt very fortunate to spent the 6 weeks there while we could.
Your recent footage of the NY high line was a joy BTW. I remember this was our favourite thing to do on our visit and it brought back happy memories. Hope you're doing well. All the best from us.
Bem moderna a Ilha da Madeira.
Sou do país também da madeira, mas da madeira do pau brasil.
É bom ouvir de você no Brasil. Saudações de volta do Reino Unido. Espero que esteja gostando de viajar conosco?

Sim, eu gosto !
top!
Hi Eduardo, Thanks for the visit. Always good to hear from you.
@@LivingWalks thanks bro!
thanks for posting :-)
You're welcome Beep 68!
So beautiful - only thing stopping me is what I have heard about neglected dogs roaming. Is this true or are the dogs sheltered for adoption??!!
Good morning Karen, well I have to say we've been coming long term for many years and we've not noticed that to be prevalent. All the best to you.

Pretty good video and very steady panning, what sort of camera have you used?
Enjoy your stay in Madeira there are great places for photography & video recording!.
Hi there Carlos, good to connect with you. We certainly loved every bit of our visit and will be back again I'm sure. Are you from Madeira? Pleased you liked the footage it's filmed with the lovely little DJI Pocket.
@@LivingWalks Yes I am from Madeira and left in 1966 to the Channel Islands GB, thanks for the information Regards
Oh how interesting Carlos, you left one beautiful island for another. Hope life has treated you well in the channel islands?

Pandemic out of control in Portugal, and restaurants and cafes are open. Right. Fantastic place for better times, though.
I guess at the time this was filmed Madeira (being so far away from Portugal) had very low numbers. I take your point though A! And yes, a place to go in better times indeed.
yes look at all the people dropping dead in the street!
Vielen Dank
Sehr gerne Claudio, ich hoffe es war hilfreich? Es ist ein schöner Ort.
What month is this please?
Hi Ronnie, this was filmed in January!
Madeira is the exception in Portugal. All the country is closed, except this tiny region 650 km off the African coast...
Our thoughts are with the friends we made and left behind. Not easy times, all the very best to you friend.
Diogo, you from madeira?
@@joaoteixeira7410 Not at all. Last time I was in Madeira was on holidays in 2016 (I think it was in April), but I am a person born in Lisbon but raised in Corte do Pinto and Corroios, and now I live in Almada.
I would love to live on an island like Madeira and i am just watching form my screen i haven’t even been there yet😹😹
Hi there Amy, we do feel the same, it’s a very special place. We are back here at the moment and everyone is very welcoming indeed. I do hope you get to visit sometime. We’ll be uploading more walks soon. Thanks for dropping by.
So, this is Funchal..... ok!
Well a little bit of it, of course!
Don't forget CR7 was born there
and what a lovely place to be born KP.
