I think the best description for all of these mechs is "delightfully cheesy". When I was a kid these are the kind of things I used to cobble together, so I'm glad to see Lego trying to inspire kids towards that
I’m excited to see Lego taking the mechs in a very silly direction
"Mom can we get a HGCE Infinite Justice Gundam Type II?!"
Mom: "No we have Infinite Justice Type II at home"
Infinite Justice Type II at home:
Silly things like this are what makes LEGO LEGO! Can you imagine TCS game without the silliness? Great review as always!
I like how the arm came off, very Empire Strikes Back ;)
I admit, when this set was first revealed, I went out and bought the Vader mech just to have them fight.
I kinda want a Poe Dameron black and orange version now. I like this little thing
I LOVED seeing how much fun you had with this set during the review. That’s what this is all about really. The adult collectors getting mad at these because they aren’t serious or canonical really need to take a step back and realize they’re getting genuinely angry over toys meant for kids
I'd like to see one of these mechs for The Armourer, 1) to make her a more accessible figure 2) I'd love to see her built up armour and large versions of her tools
This is a hilarious set, all the other star wars mechs are just blown up versions of the character, but this ties luke in with the vehicle he is best known for. Great for casual lego audiences.
Ah yes, Infinite Justice Gundam Type II at home. It looks cute, I love it
Lego being a fun toy for all, we need more of this so everyone can enjoy Lego.
Thanks for embracing the fun aspect of this set! You're right - not everything needs to be all serious all the time.
That title thumbnail! Fun, cheap, and hilarious. Also, those 2x2 tile logo prints on this and the Stormtroopers is probably the best parts. I'd really love to see the larger blade in green though.
Bro thinks he's piloting the Crossbone Gundam.
Lego keeps trying to fill the Bionicle shaped hole in our hearts without actual Bionicles. Still a funny set though
For these mechs, I wish Lego would start making a series of mechs for the different Classic Space Astronauts colors. It’d be a great way to re-wave the figures.
What an interesting concept
Reminds me of those mini comics at the back of the first Lego Star Wars instructions, where the characters would take apart pieces of the set and create something else to continue their adventure.
I think every kid that loves mechs, which are a lot, will love that. I know I would have loved it as a kid. The X-Wing suggestion is dope :)
Great work as always. I hope your channel is doing okay. It must be really difficult as an independent review channel, having to buy everything yourself and such.
I will try to comment on more videos to boost the algorithm a bit.
I have been a follower for years at this point and I have spent so much time watching your videos. I appreciate a lot what you do and if I want to buy a set, I know that I can just watch your review to make up my mind about it.
I think you can tell from your reviews that you are really passionate about Lego and it shows in your video quality. So detailed and you're always trying to be as objective as possible and put yourself in your viewers shoes as potential buyers.
I really appreciate you and your channel. Keep it up! (As long as you're still having fun)
The 'mechification' of all things. Ma'am, the dog didn't eat my homework, I just need more time to mechify it.
I really like this set, it's pretty fun and nicely designed. Only thing I'd say is, it's a bit of a shame we didn't get the version of Luke with arm printing and dual moulded legs from the UCS X-Wing. This minifigure is fine, as you say in the video. But with Captain Rex being the UCS figure in a small set, and with the new keychain of pilot Luke being the UCS version, it's a bit weird they didn't go the extra mile. The Boba Fett mech had a version of Boba with arm printing, and that was an entirely new minifigure. I don't really see why they couldn't reuse the UCS minifigure here, beyond it costing more to produce.
That said, if you take the arms off of the keychain, and remove the legs from the hips, you can pretty easily make a UCS Luke out of this one. So ultimately, it's not THAT big of a deal.
I love this!!! What are some of the craziest Star Wars characters they should do next? Han Solo in a Millenium Falcon mech? Yoda in a Dagobah swamp themed mech? Leia? General Greivous?
We do be getting a little silly
Really didn't care for the first three Star Wars Mechs, but as soon as I saw this one I absolutely GOT it, it's exactly what the mechs should be, the others were a little too sterile somehow, but the wings on this really put it over the top (in a good way)
An R2 inside a mech would be silly 😊
I agree with you Jang, that this is a great toy. I really enjoyed building it and had a lot of fun converting it into a snowspeeder themed mech. More of these please Lego!
I share your sentiments. My 7 year old loves building the mini mechs and this brought me so much joy when it was announced. Love that there is a Rebel Alliance logo print.
All of these Star Wars mechs remind me of those Star Wars Transformers.
I love this Mech so much!!! It's one of my favorites along with the last Batman Mech and the War Machine one! They're perfect! :)
I*love* that it balances so well! It's like a toy designed by a child, but as if that child were a professional.
I'm unfazed by the bubbles. Which is odd, now that I think about it, because I'm a details guy.
Epic luke mech great review jang 👍
this is the perfect direction to take these little mech sets!
LOVING this direction they're going! I definitely feel that the mechs don't have a really *mature* audience, so going for fun & quirkiness is so enjoyable! I'd love to see a TIE-based one with a fun figure in!
Toy. Happy. Fun. Good. - Those 4 words Lego should always strive for and they certainly did here. I am so happy to see them be able to do these mechs for Star Wars like they have for Marvel. I hope they release more as this design is brilliant. Love the printed Rebel Alliance tile too! Thanks for reviewing this, Jang, as I nearly forgot these were coming out.
Even if one doesn't like the mechs in particular, they often have great pieces in them for mocs: lots of detail bricks and pieces that are kind of unorthodox otherwise. I could easily see rebuilding this into a neat little rebel themed structure. Love the colors on this one in particular. I'd love to see more of these, and already have ideas for different characters with different mechs. Admittedly the stormtrooper and vader one is kind of plain, so I hope for more colorful options like this one: maybe some droid army stuff? They use lots of blues, browns, and yellows.
Really love this style of mech, using a vehicle related to the character and megazord-ing it. Really hope they continue with this, wish Vader got an interceptor and a Slave 1 for Boba instead of oversized versions of themselves.
Glad you like it JANG, but not for me. Even if I were a kid again, yet I'm glad people enjoy it🙂✌🏼
i love the leg details
I agree with you on the articulation. It's unfortunate that Lego seems dead set on using those mech arms and legs
Finally the brotherhood of steel have come to Star Wars
I love the design of this set! Reminds me of Exo-Force. I hope we get more like this. Show me a Y-Wing design with engines sticking up like the Enterprise
Obi-Wan: "Use the Mech, Luke..."
I love the mech line that Star Wars is doing. IMO they have more "play-value" than the microfighter line, as you're getting a more full toy, rather than a downsized one, if that makes sense. Hopefully they continue with it, would love to see how wild they can get!
Probably the best Star Wars mech because it fully leans into the inherent toyetic goofiness of the concept. Reminiscent of the Transformers crossover toys. Makes me wish the Vader mech was modeled like a TIE Advanced.
Yeah the bubbles in zhe big translucent piece were the first thing that stood out to me as definitely not good.
The rest is awesome.
Thanks for the review!
Star Wars Bionicle/Mixels! Super awesome set.
I was surprised it took Lego so long to start making these things. Would live to see more creative stuff.
Seeing it like this I honestly love it so much
That’s a good point. We do need to see some fun sets in the Star Wars theme. I would have liked to have seen the studs on the legs covered with dark red and white ingot pieces.
Such a fun mech. I even went and bought the X-Wing Microfighter to go with it.
Infinite Justice II looks a little different from last I saw
If they do a Millenium Falcon it should be a two-seater somehow :) Would a Y-Wing have an oversized rocket pack like the engines, with a little turret above the pilot's head? Would an AT-ST be... armless? Mostly? TIE-Fighter with big solar panel shoulder pads? Would actually love to have more bounty hunter sets complete with figures. I know that since this iteration only has one there's a chance it's tapering off, but at least the pattern of builds has been established.
This is a bit silly, but I think I'd probably treat it as a non-lightsaber setup and maybe it would feel a tad more grounded somehow, a nice antagonist for the stormtrooper mech.
Love the thumbnail
This is definitely the best of the small mech based sets, it's got quite a bit more content to it than the others which makes it a bit better value and it's just so dumb and awesome at the same time! It's very Gundam-like even though it's not going for that.
You can even imagine the X-wing S-foils can also be used to make this mech fly around as well. A Jet-Mech if you want.
The thing about this not being the UCS minifig Luke is that at the same time this was released, LEGO also released the UCS Luke as a keychain so it's odd that they wouldn't include it here. Still, at least with the keychain, you can remove the arms and legs and put them on this figure to get the UCS minifig Luke.
Now this got me wishing Vader mech had been based on his Tie Fighter. "Mech-fication" of fighters/ships is such a better concept for Star Wars than "mech-fication" of the characters.
What a cool little mech!
I enjoy my lego being silly
I really wish Lego committed to the bit with the other mechs the way they did with this one. I need a Darth Vader tie mech in my life
The rebel printed tile on the front might make me buy this
Can't wait for the dexster jetster mech.
Merging these mechs with the microfighters could be fun too
This is what LEGO is for. Fun.
This mech looks like it could actually transform into an X-Wing!! 😁 it's pretty cool for what it is!
Very Transformers-esque. Reminds me of Bumblebee with the wings.
Entertaining review, love your attitude towarss the "mechification" trend
We need a tie fighter pilot mech to go with this one 😂
I miss when the mechs had "knees and elbows". I get why they changed to the new pieces, but the fun factor was better when they moved more
I did a double take when i saw the thumbnail. I love everything that's happening here. It's just fun heheheheheh
The star wars mechs are underrated
Reminds me of 2005-2006's absolutely cursed Star Wars Transformers in the best way
haha, really does feel like an old transformers millenium falcon that was han and chewbacca combining to make the full falcon
I hope they make a TIE fighter pilot with a TIE motif mech
I swapped a few pieces in the cockpit, added two and got Artoo in as the pilot.
Now I hope we get an even sillier R2 mech
It’s like one of those combiner models from the 90s 😂
I really likes these small mechs, except for the limited arm and legs movement.
I want to see a combo Gold Leader/Y-Wing mech with a giant rocket booster pack! Or imagine a Grogu/IG-11 mech!
It looks cool, might have to get one.
Reminds me of the Stealth Hunter from Exo-Force 😂
This set would be perfect if it could transform too, that’s like ultimate toy stuff
Just saw this on a shop yesterday.
JANGBRICKS!!
Can I have the cross bones Gundam?
We have it at home. *The Cross bones Gundam at home.*
“Lego can be FUN” his back is part of a X Wing
Wish they put more details on the legs of all the Star Wars mechs. It’s always the details that makes me not want to buy it
Looks like something out of the LEGO movies.
I completely agree. It's so funny and cool
I might grab this. Got Boba Fett, though mainly for the fig with arm printing. I feel like if I grab this one, I'll have to pick Vader up too.
Majorly disappointing that this doesn’t come with the UCS pilot Luke. The Y-Wing microfighter comes with the exact Rex from the Venator, and the clone pack came with the exact figure from the Gunship. Yet this doesn’t come with the UCS Luke, and they won’t put the dual molded Threepio legs in a cheaper set either.
There seems to be some kind of double standard going on at LEGO, and I wish they’d just choose which they want to do. Personally I’d rather they put the exact figs in cheaper sets, it’s just better for the average consumer. Shouldn’t have to pay an extra $6 to pop and swap arms and legs from a keychain either.
Luke SwoleWalker
I love it
Is that a new large lightsaber blade piece? I've never seen it before.
don´t know why they put balljoints in the wings when clip joints would been better. Well, maybe they were thinking about more gundam/robot wing backpacks
Lego star wars has plenty of silly toys. But often get treated as "parts" with a minifig. And that doesn't do justice to what this is. But yeah Microfighters and mechs are fun. Kids like them. And it has been a success for kids. People should indeed not be too serious about these.
I agree about the hands btw, they should have something to at least point the saber!
And as always a great review!
This thing is so stupid, its amazing. I love it.
Coming this fall…
You saw him as a Tatooine farm boy
You witnessed him fly an X-Wing with no prior training on the operation of the fighter
You cheered as he destroyed the Death Star
But you weren’t ready for this.
A crash landing on a remote world leaves Luke with one option: adapt his broken fighter into a mech.
Prepare yourself for Luke Skywalker: The Mechafication.
Release date pending
Someone needs to make other Star Wars vehicle-based mechs…Han Solo’s Millennium Falcon Mech, Kylo Ren’s Shuttle Mech, Scout Trooper Speeder Mech, and so on…
I guess I want more swooshabilty out of their mechs, at least remembering back to my younger days. More exaggerated engines might help this, give it some oomf
