Yeah. I was really pissed at the boss for being this heartless. Like seriously, you'd expect your employee to cancel their Brain surgery? Are you sick in the head? These bosses don't really care about their employees health. Their just after money and work.
I feel bad for those people. No one should be totally miserable at their job. This is why I've seen so much news stories of people quitting their jobs for 2021 especially if they're underpaid and never get a promotion despite working hard enough to earn one.
I feel like companies just want workaholics who dont care about themselves as employees and i believe they have this mindset that they can just replace anybody who falls sick from overworking. And as always thanks for posting today Kyutie!😌

I’ve had an experience like this, I asked for leave a month in advance to give plenty of notice, and even wrote it down in the “leave diary” we had; my boss didn’t want me to go because it was a busy time of year, (which is why I asked for leave in advance) and asked me to cancel, I had to explain that the holiday had actually been booked 2 years ago, but had to be cancelled because of COVID; and despite me mentioning it 4 times, (including once in writing) my boss somehow still forgot that I would be gone and scheduled me that week.
This makes me think of the warehouse company I used to work for. Bastards would always make promises to us that there would be better time off from work( We were literally almost working 14 hours, 6 days a week. Hell they made us work through an entire month with no break. Not even on the weekends were we free.), we'd get our raises, etc. Turns out that was more lies. They would always do weird things too. Like if we stayed and worked they would hand out prizes to those who never missed a day of work. Just whole bunch of weird shit and bad business. They were the ones that ended up causing me to have a back injury due to the fact I was being overworked. I remember before the back injury I would find a bruise on my lower back that was the size of a baseball or was just spread out my entire lower back like a it was a purple rash and would cause me pain.
I can relate because I want to leave my college due to the mistreatment I get sometimes by the teachers and the edibles aren't that cheap,but I can't because of my close friends and like nine out of 10 teachers are nice
I have two aunt's & two uncles and they were all senior solicitors for the government for 30+ years and they worked extremely long hours my aunt told me stories of getting up at 5am and getting home 7 or 8pm the other aunt often worked Easter & or Xmas too they all went on countless business trips. All four are finally retired and finally able to relax and enjoy themselves.

In the first story, the manager shouldn't have asked the employee to come in when their time off had been approved during what i'm guessing was the previous month. It was also wrong to tell the employee that if they didn't come in, they might end up working on Christmas. In the 2nd story the boss shouldn't have texted the employee at 5 AM. That is too early for a boss to text their employee. Asking 3 hours in advance isn't enough time. In the 3rd story, working 11 hours a day, 6 days a week shouldn't have been mandated. That is too long of a shift and too many hours a week to be working. In the 5th story, the boss shouldn't have fired the employee when the employee used a paid sick day. It was also wrong to tell the employee that they could have the job back if they took on more hours and didn't ask for a raise. That employee should be getting a raise because the amount of time they've been working there is definitely more than enough to be asking for a raise. The boss using their medical condition as excuse for how they acted towards the employee, and the other stuff they said is total bs. The employee did the right thing in quitting because they weren't being treated well and they wouldn't have been getting paid enough. In the 6th story, the boss shouldn't have asked the employee to cancel the brain surgery the first time it was scheduled. I think the doctor wrote that email to the boss because they were so angry/fed up with the boss. That boss is totally horrible, terrible, and awful. In the 7th story, the company shouldn't be making the employees work Christmas & New Year's. Holidays should be when employees have time off so they can spend time with family and/or friends. In the 9th story, the boss shouldn't have been texting the employee past midnight to ask him/her/they to make changes to something right away. Once a person has clocked out, they're done with work for the day and therefore their boss shouldn't be texting/calling them to ask them to do something. I agree with Kyutie that in a situation like that the best thing to do is not read the text and/or email and just pretend that you're already sleeping. In the 11th story, the boss should be letting their employee use Microsoft Excel or the HR software to keep track of working hours. The company already has those programs/software, so using paper is unnecessary.

Boss: “Cancel it!! Me making money matters more than you!!”
