@@danatinnel3758 it’s a Gift Xray wouldn’t want to pass up. TLR wrapped it up in a bow and sent it straight to xray 😂😂. We will see I’m sure in the next week
I used to run the nitro tc3 back in the day. The issue with onroad is not they are hard to drive, they are not easy to setup. You can have a bad setup offroad car and still finish. Onroad if the setup is slightly off the car can be undriveable.
Don't forget how big 1:10 IC Touring was back in the 2000 to 2010 time, it was huge but quite often run on car park tracks or tracks that no longer tolerate IC noise at least in the country I race in. The class is dead and no tinkering with spools and bodies is going to change that, don't know why some in RC talk about things that will make zero difference. IC on-road needs to consolidate and all run 1:8 IC GP. Maybe have a sportsman class that runs smaller tires, restricted engine, less aggressive aero as long as the full 1:8 IC GP components can be swapped into the chassis. I am not convinced 1:8 IC GT has a future, the cars were meant to be affordable converted buggies but are now bespoke and expensive designs that are just awkward to drive compared to what a sportsman 1:8 IC GP car would be. Would be great it you guys could cover some more 1:8 IC GP racing, still in reasonable health and there is really very little media that supports the class. Every off-road racer needs to have a go of a GP car is they ever get the chance because they are incredible to drive. I rotate between racing 1:8 IC GP, 1:10 EP Touring and 1:10 EP buggy and all classes are equally brilliant fun however a hooked up lap in an 1:8 IC GP car is like nothing else.
I like what Max has to say about TLR. I think at the end of the day. Rc isn’t big enough yet for having pro drivers to matter. Obviously there is very fast drivers still around to test, and develop these cars. This is just a rebuild phase. It’s like any other sport. You can sin with what you have for a time, but eventually it’ll be time to rebuild a team again. That’s what I believe the plan will be
Great podcast! I can’t wait to hear Phends final decision! I agree with the valid points made. Unfortunately money and the economic state of the world is putting a damper on pretty much everything.
Rc racing rarely get into new eyes. We need better advertising or possibly races broadcast to newer sites. Twitch front page would have tons of new eyes with possibly just a phone call or email.
As much as I'd like to think mayako would get phend. It's tough to see him not going to xray. One hand $ with a kid coming is nice. But RC is all about the cool kids and let's face it. Mayako is still the lone kid on the playground that a few cool kids played with but now don't like...
News is out now but I thought the same thing. Especially with how important it is to stay competitive. The mayako seems to be pretty good but a year or 2 of struggle and all the sudden it can be hard to find a competitive team that wants to pay you. phend will do just fine with xray
Im really tired of the whole, "I know you need to go soon", "Tell your GF to chill" Boys, commit to the episode or stay home. It's unprofessional and a distraction from the otherwise amazing content. Show up, devote the time required to record or don't record. For weeks now too much time as been spent telling Max to shut and for his GF to chill. Sort your shit out Max. This is hurting the product.
In my defence I want to point out a few things😅 99% of the time I don’t really have to go but thats Keenans way of saying that we are speeding up things. There was only once where I had to leave before and thats pretty much because we went over time by an hour. So its not necessarily that we dont have the time reserved for the pod but that we try to keep it shorter than we are actually able to so we have to speed it up at times. Now about it not being professional I do agree with your statement but at the end of the day this is not a professional podcast YET. None of us working on this actually make a living out of this. We are getting closer each year but until then we have to do the work for the love of the sport. As an ending point I do want to reiterate that my girlfriend is not bugging me there every 15 minutes when I do my podcasts😂
No to professional racers. They cause the decline of the hobby. 1) Their salaries make kits more expensive. 2) Hobbyist will be hesitant to race, what is the point when you are fighting paid / semi sponsored drivers who do nothing but rc while we have a day job. Keep the hobby amateur level, race cheaper, and the number of racers will grow.
Another great podcast. Congratulations on the Etruggy score!
I really enjoyed this episode. And I have to say if Mayako picks up Phend. I’ll watch closely and might pick up one too
Thanks Dana!
Phend isn’t going to mayako lol never never
@ you think so?

that would be a curveball if Mayako gets Phend, will Phend in that case bring mayako to be a winner in those big races?
Making a RC come back ! watch out !
Stoked about Cav. The Serpent platforms are very good and well designed.
I never ever seen anyone race a serpent at any track 😩

Is JQ ever going to be on the podcast again?

I raced Kyosho over 10 years ago still till this day they haven’t designed a new platform 🤦🏾♂️
Race on Sunday! Buy on Monday!
Brian Dunbar is still at Yokomo in the US.
I wonder if JCon moving more toward Schumacher is becasue they know Amain is buying AE?
Pro performance will help. i don't think he will leave brian. their relationship seem really good
I’ve never seen anyone race a serpent 😳😩🤦🏾♂️
lol. I saw one in the wild about 5 years ago. Seemed okay but not anything I would trade what I had for
