  • Little Haiti is a neighborhood in Miami which is home to many Haitian and Caribbean immigrants. It was previously known as Lemon City, Little River, and Edison. The area is full of French-Creole culture, restaurants, artwork, theaters, and history. NE 2nd Avenue is the main commercial strip through the neighborhood.

This ride was a treat. I worked in an office at I95 and 54th St. for several years. also in Coral Gables. I've been out of Miami for - dare I say - 25 years, but my heart is still there. Your excursions bring me joy. Thank you.

I love Little Haiti!! The local artist, $erg makes most of those murals you see (he’s Haitian American). I stayed there with my ex in the 2010s (she was from there but Honduran American, not Haitian). I don’t miss the annoying chickens & roosters waking me up before sunrise in the mornings or the large amount of trash in some empty fields thrown on the street or the occasional sacrificed animal/animal head rotting near trees or railroad tracks (from Santería & Vodou), but I loved the food & nice people, the colorful & various old homes’ architecture & general atmosphere. As far as crime, like most places, if you mind your business & don’t start/look for trouble it’s rare you’ll get in trouble (robbed, killed, drugs, gangs, whatever). Edit: It’s also where I found out that wild chickens natural sleep in trees, not on the ground

Another channel I just viewed of Little Haiti was driving through the poorer parts of Little Haiti where it wasn't kept up. The racists were bombarding the comment section about black people without saying black people. Your videos are excellent. You are showing us the major Little Haiti. Haitians take pride in their neighborhoods, foods just like any other cultures. Every group of people has its poor neighborhoods that aren't up to par.

I'm well familiar with Liberty City: I live there; only three blocks from Northwestern Sr. High School; I'm a 1969 graduate.
But Little Haiti I'm not familiar; I really enjoyed seeing the community. The metro buses I ride is 12, 21, 27, and sometimes 22. Thank you ActionKid for the tour of Little Haiti; I enjoyed it.

You would think people coming from other counties would celebrate there new country ,versus sticking it into our faces of how great their former countries was . This is so typical of the divide and conquer of the American culture .Come to America yes ,but show some respect to the American way of life . You came here ,for a reason , better life ,not your old one.

@@samosasosa6684 You had a very kind response to such a hateful comment! This person clearly doesn’t understand the US is a nation of IMMIGRANTS with different cultures. The only “American culture” is NATIVE AMERICAN! Every US region, race, & ancestral background has our own, unique cultures within cultures. An Italian American from NYC has a completely different culture than a Mexican American from Texas. A Chinese American from San Francisco will have a different culture than a Jewish person from New Orleans. Our mixture & retention of our cultures is what makes our country great, NOT conformity into bigoted, outdated, Anglocentric conformity!
