SOI FON, OMAEDA & HACHI vs BARAGGAN - Bleach Battle ANALYSIS | From Dust to Dust
Вставка
- Опубліковано 20 вер 2024
- The battles against the top 3 Espada during the Fake Karakura Town Arc of Bleach were highly anticipated - but for many fans, they fell short. The battle between Soi Fon, Omaeda, Hachi and Baraggan is a great example of that, and why, despite being a decent fight, Kubo couldn't quite live up to the lofty expectations people had for these fights.

What did you think of this fight? Which of the top 3 Espada had the best fight in your opinion? Let me know!
You vids are so good
Stark’s fight was definitely the best.
I think that the way Hachi came up with the idea for killing baragan was very creative but also a little bit contrived. Also i think aizen only put baragan as number two psychologically mess with baragan. Check out Tekking101's video he did on baragan, he explains this very well. I also like that while baragan is arrogant he has every reason to be that arrogant.
Starkk had the best fight. But I liked the Barragan battle in the Manga. I just hate the ending. Technically Hachi could use that technique to kill anyone. Its terrible
All I can say is Haribell got the short end as did To Shiro, Lisa and Hiyori.
Barragan and Soi Fon do share a similarity in that they're both essentially the "guaranteed-kill" (but not really for either of them lol) Soi Fon can obviously two-tap (if the narrative would ever allow for that) but she can also 1-hit KO with her Bankai ((again, if the narrative would allow for it)) and Barragan's Respira is a death sentence. They both suffer from the narrative not allowing them to get off their instakills and guaranteed kills :D
Indeed what I was going to say. Soifon is an assassin that deals in death but Barragan is death itself. A natural death vs murder
i see the similarities. makes you wonder if Kubo thought this as well
The symbolism in Bleach always blows my mind 🔥
I still believe Zommari would've been the better opponent to face her given hes the fastest being in bleach it would've been interesting to see them fight, also both of them have similarities ;speed the signs etc.
And have Byakuya fight Barragan instead see how he can rot millions of swords before they reach him.
P.S Besides Barragan is VERY arrogant so the same dispute would've worked better.
@@greengarnish1711 I would just like to see more of Zommari period. So overlooked and yet has one of the most interesting abilities. Similar to Shin uchiha in Boruto with his signs he uses.
In the anime that scene when his crown is falling is epic. Everyone stops and watch it fall in silence. It shows the fear and respect everyone had for Barrigan. Scary ass power, there was no other way to handle him.
Yeah that was fantastic.
"It shows the fear and respect everyone had for Barragan " ?
Surprising you see it that way. I thought that everyone's reaction towards his death was because of his verbal and physical outburst against Aizen at the end.
Watching the 2nd Espada try to kill Aizen before his destruction must have made everyone speechless.
Dude I'm' glad that there is someone like you that talks in a interesting way about Bleach, I love your videos, thank you for making them.
I'm glad you enjoy them, thanks for watching :)
I thought this fight was really cool. But, I was SO bummed that this wasn't Tessai's time to shine. Kubo goes out of his way to show thst Tessai knew the forbidden kido for stopping time in the TBTP arc; I was SURE that this was foreshadowing for how they were going to stop Barragan. It would have been great to see the kido corps captain get a huge win.
....ngl, I forgot tessai existed lmao.
@@Mystravian so did Kubo
Well her bankai is REALLY stealthy...
Who can spot you trying to sneak into something if they, along with the rest of the compound, no longer exists?
never did get why her shikai is considered stealthy
she has to hit you twice
would be far more stealthy to just....hit them once with a sword or knife
@@scottgrasser9737 Because the Shikai leaves no body or blood behind. And it'll activate immediately, whereas a knife would make someone scream out in pain before they bleed out.
Imagine playing tag, but having to tap a person twice in order to tag them...
Very true!
Imagine seeing Soi Fon right before she blows it up your ass o0f
The thing i like most about your reviews: you don’t just hype and sugarcoat things. The bad is the bad: the good is the good. Thanks!
Thank YOU! :D
Soi Fon’s Bankai isn’t just a reflection of her evolving from a two step kill to a one hit kill, it shows her two sided personality. Yes, she is an assassin and leader of the onmitsukidō, but she also has a tendency to run her mouth and show off. Thus, Jakuhō Raikōben is basically her giving up the pretense of being an assassin and just trying to get the job done.
Wow i never thought about it like that
It also offends her professional pride. Which given all the symbolism in Bleach is tantamount to her being professionally offended by who she is.
Technically Soifon's bankai is still stealth if no one lives to tell about it after blowing all them up
True!
This is actually one of my favorite Espada fights.
Like, it's not the most consistent one, but the high points are really good.
I'm a bit biased, though, i love Soi Fon, seeing her shooting Baraggan in the face like that was amazing.
And i still find the way he dies one of the best victories in Bleach, much better than the times they just reveal a shikai/bankai and it just happens to be the perfect match.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves her! Shes one of my favourite captains
Yeah! Soifon is really cool. Also one of my favourite captains, alongside Zaraki. I quite liked this fight too. Sure, she did not do that much, but Baragan's power is ridiculously dangerous, so going in for a quick hit isn't really an option. I think most other captains couldn't do much to him either. You'd need some serious hax to go up against that. Hachi also did great in this fight, he's pretty awesome.
Yeah, Baraggan not being immune to his own power really sold his theme that all things no matter what, are subject to his power of aging.
Kubo and Lucas really need to go to therapy for their obsession with chopping arms and hands off...
Kyoraku vs. Stark was good. We did get to see more of Kyoraku and his shikai in the anime along with some more of the tactics he uses and Stark was pretty cool. Infinite ceros and spirit wolves were both pretty interesting.
Kyoraku vs Starrk was GOATed*
Yeah, it was the best fight, but in my opinion it was more because of Kyouraku than Starrk. I always thought that Starrk's abilities were pretty disappointing. Kyouraku's on the other hand, were very interesting.
@@matheusbecker2351 I mean Starks abilities were absolutely crazy, but it was underwhelming because of its simplicity compared to crazy abilities like Barragan or, obviously, Kyoraku, who really made the exchange interesting with his shikai. Without it, the fight would have ended pretty quickly.
Starrk vs Kyoraku, Ukitake, and 2 visoreds.
@@residentevil2928 Thank you, I was going to add that, but it would kinda seem like I'm lecturing him lol.
I don't really like talking about what other artists "should" have done with their own projects...but I think if the Omaeda-stuff had ended with Omaeda getting killed by Barragan it would have been so much better. It would have raised the stakes (one of the good guys finally actually dies) One of the most unpopular characters could have been written out of the series, and finally that rare, heart-warming moment where Soi-Fon is shown to actually kind of care about Omaed would have been so much more effective if he was killed
I’d rather omaeda actually did something. Because it’s quite clear omaeda is actually a decent person at the end of the day and has redeemable moments. It’s just kubo never lets him do anything. Let him do stuff and have more brave moments. It’s just a good way to show a characters layered.
Just look at kenpachi. You’d think he’s just a meat head but he doesn’t like to kill people unnecessarily and he’s not gonna fight people who don’t want to fight (unless they are like ichigo whose an intruder or something). He’s a multifaceted character and same could’ve been done for omaeda.
The technique used by Hachi (the weird seal) is a reference to the Chinese animals; Crimson Phoenix, Black Tortoise, White Tiger, Azure Dragon, Yellow Dragon
I'm a big fan of Hachi and this is the best moment for him.
I always found Soifon’s Bankai interesting. Given what we know about Shinigami pouring their soul into their sword and it then shaping into a Zanpakuto, I suppose we could take that to mean Soifon doesn’t really want to be silent and stealthy at all. She really wants to be loud and flashy.
Hard to say, but part of the reason she is so focused on stealth might be because its Yoruichi's thing and we know for sure that she likes Yoruichi. But she also wouldn't be the first shinigami to hate her releases because they don't work with their style. Hell speaking of Yoruichi, she doesn't even carry hers on her.
i always thought of it like this: your shikai is who you think you are/who you want to be, while your bankai is your true self.
more mature characters like byakuya, who have their lives figured out, have become who they want to be OR have embraced their true nature, have bankai that look like stronger versions of their shikai.
soifon is different, she wants to be the professional, in control type of captain represented by her shikai, but really she's an immature bitch with an attitude that smells and that perfectly encapsulated by her bankai.
this could also be why we never see aizens bankai, with him wanting to be someone he's not, he probably also got stuck with a bankai that doesn't really help him with what he's going for.
i find it interesting that you mention how soi fon was afraid of death being a soul reaper but you dont mention how barry was literally freaking out when his own power was killing him showing that he too was afraid of death....he wasnt death....just a self proclaimed powerful arrancar/hollow.
Even death is afraid of itself
This made Hachi my 3rd fav character in the series, really wish we got to see more of him
Don’t know how Omaeda survived this fight, and it needed a few more axe swings.
I think of Barragan as by far the most Hollow of the Arrancar, to the point I actually do regard his Resurreccion as the true form as it is literally just a power-boosted version of his Hollow form. To him, flesh is just material to age away and he only became an Arrancar to seek revenge on Aizen, so the fleshy form he begrudgingly dons to discard later for his true body, it's mostly just a costume for him in essence that he wears out of subservience but is happy to discard when he can seek his revenge
I love that analysis - that's honestly such a cool concept.
He just wanted to fit in so he used a Human Base.
I loved barragan. He was the only espada getting very close to killing a captain ( to the point soifon needed freaking omaeda to not die , lost an arm and rellied on hachi)
Yeh. Out of all the captains tosh would be one of the hardest ones to kill. Because of how advanved his regeneration is
@@damaniherrington4170 ???
@@damaniherrington4170 what? Toshiro would be the easiest to killblol
@@RIS3Omega not really since he is a long range fighter .
@@marionarda2790 long range user or not doesn't exclude the fact that out of all the captains out there fighting he would be the easier captain to defeat and as far as I remember he didn't even properly defeat halibel on top of the fact that he was struggling against her more than she was with him.
I actually liked the Hachi part of the fight because it was the first time we've seen so much Kido, with all the names... It genuinely felt like it was a course I suddenly wanted to have at uni 😂
Soifon sure subverted some elements of her philosophy in this fight teaming up, she did the same later with Ichigo in a fight for survival against Aizen. And she got some petty revenge on Kisuke to boot. Pretty good fight even if her Achilles heel was made obvious.
A mistreatment of Tier Harribel video would be 🔥🔥🔥
Mistreated ? She was the only one to survive . And she was the weakest of the 3
I agree! She and Barragán were severely underused.
Deadass barragan scared the shit outta me when I first saw him as a kid
I actually really like Soi Fong. I believe Kubo wasted her potential a lot, specially her relation with youruichi . I was desperate to see some character development for her but there was almost none.
Also her Bankai is super cool, I love the design and even if it's not stealthy I dont really care that much.
I dont know, maybe I just resonate with her and just wanted to see her evolve and maybe be happy. Maybe move on from her obsession with youruichi (even tho I shipp them 100%)
Its always kinda fun when a bankai is obviously not what they would have chosen for themselves if they had a choice. It makes a nice contrast to people like Byakuya whose bankai is so perfect for them.
Can I just say that you’re a fantastic communicator? I get a lot of flack for being a die hard bleach fan, and whilst I do love Naruto as much as any other self respecting weeb, people always seem to go on and on about how shallow Bleach is from a narrative standpoint. I’m beyond glad that you’re putting such high quality content out to showcase just how textured and and sophisticated Kubo’s writing actually is. 🙏
To follow up on what you said, I liked the Hachi portion of the fight and getting to see what kido can do in the hands of a creative master. That being said, I think if Hachi lost both an arm and a leg and was revealed to have had to use some forbidden space warping technique with dire costs to teleport his appendages into Barragan, that would’ve been more striking visually and appropriate to hit home the King of Hueco Mundo’s power. Otherwise it feels too simple and convenient. Hachi should also be drained and incapacitated after.
I think it's good that the fight was mitchmached. Not every fight should be so even, sometimes one combatant just has abilities that completely render their opponents actions useless.
I wish it was Yamamoto vs barragan, that would have made more sense.
Old nigga with Fire vs Old nigga with Time powers? I don't see much of a match-up beyond their age.
@@waltermalone216 The head captain has more than his very powerful fire zanpakto, he is a full kido master.

Throw plastic bottles at him. ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
I really like ur channel ur one of the few people that can criticize a show and still love it.
Thank you!
I loved the Stark fight best especially since he was fighting with kyoraku.
The thing that buggs me here is, when it was obvious that Soi Fon and Omaeda were in big danger, no other captain stepped up to help them. Ukitake and Yamamoto were pretty much avialable, one shot from them could be a great help to second division.
I WOULD have loved a battle between Yamamoto vs Barragan. Turn to ash vs disintegrate
@@Mr0204329 I was certain that we would see that fight. In moment when top 3 Arrancars were ready for battle in fake Karakura town, there was a stare between Barragan and Yammamoto. I hoped for that fight. Another question, could Barragan make fire from Ryujin Jakka age, or would he be "reduced to ash"?
Wasn't Utikate in CoOp with Shunsui vs Coyote?
Pacing Issues. The kryptonite to Tite Kubo.
its funny how everyone complain about bleach pacing when pretty much every other manga suffers from it 🤷♂️
@@mistywoods6560 Yes but with Bleach it's really apparent with how almost each arc drags on in the beggining and then rushes at the end because Kubo spent too much time on the beginning
@@sephikong8323 If only he had enough time...
@@sephikong8323 nah people just love to complain,it always happens with one piece but people are fine with it,one punch man is terribly paced yet noone complains,a lot more...i'm talking manga btw, people just love to complain about watever kubo does, not saying the pacing was perfect but it was far from bad
@@mistywoods6560 Listen, it isn't because something else has bad pacing that we can't also point out the bad flow of most arcs in Bleach. I am one of the first to critique the pacing of One Piece (and it's over reliance on foreshadowing which is definitely a part of it), but Bleach is no less egregious in how it misses the mark more often than not when it comes to the pace of the story, and I don't think it really counts as simply whining when the criticism is pretty legitimate, because so far, Pacing is the biggest problem of both the Arrancar and TYBW arcs and that truly hampers both more than anything else
I'm not gonna lie. When I first saw this dude in action, I was like nah bro we're done. The anime did him justice in terms of design and then Soi-Fons arm having to be cut off spooked the hell out of me. I was freaking out like " WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO!?!?!"
Same here
If Soi Fon who was known for her speed had problems 😢😢
You always kill it with your videos, the beard is looking good! Can you do Ichigo vs Grimmjow?
Thank you! That'll definitely happen at some point.
Kubo admitted long time ago that he purposely blueballed Soi Fon in her fights, because of her shikai he couldn't make everyone Aizenesque to have the same SP he had to negate her broken shikai, so he pitted her against even more broken Barragan and a Robot, knowing full well that if Soi Fon went vs Hallibel and many other Sternrittens, she'd go for the kill and make her fights stale and 1 dimensional. So he had to eaither make her enemies with a twist or make them Aizen's, he chose option nr. 1.
LOL Soi Fon and Shunsui got Nerfed
@@lewisaino that’s not what nerfed means. But to the OP: I believe you. I just assumed that was the case because plot battles have to be interesting
@@heckinbasedandinkpilledoct7459Yet they made their fights difficult on purpose
@@lewisainoYeah. Honestly sucks too because now most the fanbase has it stuck in their head that Soi Fon is the weakest captain. We could have gotten amazing fights with her in the manga, but she just gets shut down. Kubo didn’t even try. The filler arcs shows her more respect by actually giving her decent fights.
Every Time Someone Loses An Arm In Bleach video 😆
I would have loved soi fon said something like “if you are the hueco Mundo king, shouldn’t you be looking for a more challenging fight?” (basically taunting him) and barragan takes the bait and deactivates his respira (or the spatial field thing, if this happens before he activated his ressurectión) and we get a 2v1 close quarters brawl between soifon omaeda vs barragan
Also I like that barragan is essentially a skeleton in regal outfit
Symbolic of him not having anything beyond the superficial
I think losing an arm thing is a shounen thing in general. You can lose an arm, eye, get scars but losing a leg is a no-no lol. The biggest exception I can think of rn is Full Metal Alchemist
Looking at the series backwards i can't imagine what any of the other shinigami could have done against Baragan. SoiFon really was the most suited to fight him, avoiding Respira with her speed and if the plot allowed killing him with her nuke. I mean no other shinigami had a long range option that could hold a candle to that nuke. in the end he went down to hex. Honestly, the design of barrage was so damn epic he should have been a stand alone villain in the series if not something primordial in the world that wasn't meant to be fought I still can't wrap my mind around how that thing was subjugated and insulted by Izen.
I also imagined other shinigami saw respira and just decided to nope that situation.
Maybe Soi Fon and Unohana with their Lts vs Barragan
I actually liked this fight over the other 2 Espada. I liked that Hachi was the one who opted to fight with Soi Fon. He used a cool head and tactics over her hot headedness and utilized her weapon to its best effect. This was more a fight between him and Barrigan rather than Soi Fon.
Only bad thing about this fight is that "only" three characters (captain, vice-captain and one Vizard) defeated 2nd Espada without casulties.
@Joseph Trusty Tessai?
@Joseph Trusty just imagine Jamamoto using Zanka no Tachi against Barragan, and how would it work ?
@@Arjunditra he is supposed to be superior to Hachi. Not sure about the boost Hachi gets from hollow mask.
@@ДушанПоповић-т6н all of them died, except Wanderwaiss and Aizen.
@@Arjunditra you mean all of Espada would die?
With Espada #4 annihilating Ichigo in his hollowfied form before even going into second ressureccion, I feel like Halibel should have erased Toshiro without even transforming at all. And Starkk should have required at least 1 or 2 bankais (Ukitake and Love would have been nice).
Ukitake and Love using Bankai, there, would've been great...
I understand people being irritated about Soi Fon's Bankai being so big, but I think that's the point. Kubo likes making unconventional abilities that don't always 100% coincide with what readers expect. Even the pairing of Soi Fon and Hachi isn't the first that would come to mind when you think of a conventional team up!
I saw Soi Fon so petite and the Bankai that only Zaraki could carry 😂😂
Soi Fon's shikai represents her training her bankai represents her personality
I just didnt like the fact that Tessai was left out and Hachi did all that work. I know he became a visored and so on but Tessai was the captain and all he did was giving pills to Kisuke and holding Ichigo. He was so badass in the past.
Also Soifons bankai was awsome and if you have seen the zanpakuto rebellion arc there was something interesting about her bankai said by her zanpakuto. If you used it more it wont have this much recoil. So its Soifons fault for that. I love Soifon overall though. And for her to cut the arm off and throw her shoes fast was very cool for me. Barragan was the best espada no doubt. The only reason he was nr 2 is so he could fight Soifon. Because there is no one in soul society who could ever do damage to him. Anyway i would say ,except Hachi and Mashiro a bit , the other visordes did nothing at all.
I think that it honestly should have been Unohana, Hachi and Tessai fight Baraggan. I think it would have been better to see the Espada who destroys all and the Captain that can heal anything. I also feel the double captain fight would have really done a solid to show how powerful the top three are supposed to be. I feel the symbolism between Unohana and Baraggan would have been perfect and it would be a much needed display of Unohana and her fight style pre the big reveal about her.
I think the best fight was Stark and the way he pretty much one shot Ukitake was a good display of his power level (which i feel was sadly way lower than what they should have been seeing how your average vasto lorde is a flee on sight even for captains.) BUT i feel that it should have been another random captain or powerful Lieutenant that was one shot and the fight be both Shunsui and Ukitake together
Wonderweiss was the one who oneshot ukitake. Staark did not touch him
top 10 strongest captains of all time when
I notice that in both the Manga and Anime, Barragan and Yamamoto share a glance, it is short but you get the sense that they know one another.
During this fight in the anime after barragan had awakened into arrogante and omaeda was running away and had thrown gegetsuburi there was this one very Japanese sounding background song that I could not for the life of me find, I believe it had also played when poww was interacting with either ikkaku or kommamura. If anyone could find the song used it would be greatly appreciated
I liked her buckeye as well because that missile that she's using is literally a stinger missile which fits her ability perfectly
This was actually my favourite fight of the top 3 espada mostly because Barry, Soifon, Hachi and Omaeda are one of my favourite characters. However i was really dissapointed by the halibel fight, the first part was fine but after she thawed out of Toshiro's ice pillar, i thought we would get an epic battle between Lisa and Halibel but.....
Harribel was absolutely the most disappointing thing, maybe overall, in the Fake Karakura arc.
i'd like to think that soi fon's bankai is still not fully mature. It would be really cool if her bankai is also a 2 hit kill. A fully mature jakuho raikoben has a blast comparable to an atomic bomb. Like it can literally blow up an entire city. Then, to ensure the two hit kill aspect of it, there would be a nuclear fallout after. If you survive the blast, the fallout is gonna kill you slowly.
I also just thought of another reason why Barrigan and Soi Fon were paired together. Since Barrigan's aspect of death is old age/time and Soi Fon is one of the fastest Shinigami, Kubo probably wanted to showcase that there's a futility in trying to run from death/ old age. We know that Shinigami live longer than humans, but they are not immortal. It might have been that concept that Kubo was trying to show. I'm not sure if they say it in the anime, bit it's just a thought!
A Ninja vs a King
Interesting theory, but I think it has more to do with Baraggan being a counter to soifon
This fight is underrated because this is probably the only fight where wide range of kido and bakudo are used. I love these kind of strategic and teamwork battle against a formidable foe cuz in my eyes that is the only way to beat them
There are a lot of things that should have been cut in the Arrancar arc as a whole, first of all I thought that there were way too many fracciones. Honestly I think Grimmjow only needed like two that way we could have few team up fights instead of individual fights of fluctuating quality, also I think Starrk or Barragan should have had a rivalry with Ichigo and maybe it's just me but they should have either given the top 3 espada segunda etapas as well or just have Ulquiorra have one ressurecione that way they don't feel like ass or maybe just make Ulquiorra the primera espada. I love espadas 4-6 but it always rubbed be the wrong way that they got more exciting fights and development than the guys who are supposed to be stronger than them.
I respect the Bankai as it's not the person's choice what they get, Soifon would clearly like another but she works with what she has
My disappointment was immeasurable when Soi Fon reeves led her bankai. It was basically a No.2 pencil. But once I wrapped my head around the idea it was more palatable.
I think seeing how kido, while not forever could last a little longer via Hachi, I would have had Soi Fon use Shunko to protect herself and basically have to play chicken rushing in and out
I think that if the Respira didn't creep up on you upon contact, like a poison, the story would have given Barragan more uses for it.
If it just rotted out whatever portion of your body the miasma touched and that alone, I feel like Kubo could be more aggressive with its gaseous nature (making the Respira shoot out of exposed pipes, cornering the heroes in a closed off space, etc) and the fight could have become more desperate since the Respira touched the heroes more often, leading to a race against time where Soifon, Omaeda and Hachi's bodies are becoming more compromised as they try to figure out a way to hit Barragan.
The moment you give someone an instakill your either never let someone be as effective as they would otherwise or introduce a counter like Tommo thought kido would be.
While I love this fight. I feel mixed about Hachi being the one winning, I never got too attached to the Vizard characters and seeing one of them take out one of the coolest espadas is just “hmm” for me. Specially depending how you look at it, might feel convenient.
At least I would’ve preferred Soi Fon used that kido move. Sure, she ain’t a specialist, but she has been shown to know how to use some.
What kido move?
Teleporting Barragons body part into his body. It was a kido spell that did it.
Did you forget that Hachi was the vice captain of the kido corps
That spell was created by Hachi so no one else knows it but him
Personally i love that a kido specialist killed a high ranking espada. Shows that his arrogance crumbles before his death. Dont underestimate anyone
yesss
lets go!! new vids
Damm good content. Love your videos.
Looking forward to your reaction for the upcoming TYBW anime...
Hachi just show to people power of Kido Division. Imagine if Tessai and Hachi fighting together.
Was also wondering why Kubo did not matched Soi Fon with Haribel as she also is some kind of cold hearted. Hitsugaya would also be fitting Barragan especially as his Bankai fits the time/aging theme perfectly.
I think Soi Fon trope is her speed
One of my dilemma, why has Tesai completely vanished, he didn't show up to the fight. I understand him being there would have been a little redundant since we will have hachi there, but i would have really liked to see more of that forbidden kido, and see the kind of power Tesai would have displayed. On a side note, i think that maybe, just maybe, Tesai is the one that helped Urahara develop the kido that sealed Aizen.
You know what would have been cool, having tessai confront aizen during the Deicide chapters , would have made more sense than aizen just chasing ichigo friends , that was so stupid .
I’m binging your videos rn they amazing
This was one of my favorite fights, especially when Hachi finally entered the fray. The end especially struck me when Hachi showed solemn respect towards the erstwhile God of Hueco Mundo.
I enjoyed this fight even though I don't like Soi fon. Hachi was a beast its a shame we never saw more from him.
I thought Omaeda should have been killed, maybe if you wanted a redemption type of angle, he dies protecting Soi Fon. But Hachi coming in made it kind of cool to see his Kido at work and how powerful he actually is, as well as his quick thinking and knowing how much danger they were in. Barrigan was a cool Espada (as well as Starrk) which would have been nice to get more out of. Halibel did not come off all that interesting, although she could have potentially… all and all, all three fights were somewhat disappointing, it would have been nice to see at least some vice captains get killed, rather then no one.
I am biased in that Soi Fon has always been my favourite captain, so I was always happy to see her get screen time. That being said while I am not disappointed with the way Baraggan was defeated I had assumed it would end in a different fashion. In fact I thought Omaeda would get the finishing blow (as absurd as I know that sounds). This was for two reasons.
First, earlier in the fight Soi Fon chastises Omaeda for trying to help her rather than finishing off Ggio while she had him distracted. Then when Soi Fon needs a moment to prepare to use Bankai Omaeda is sent to distract Baraggan, mirroring the earlier scene and of course done so Omaeda could learn this lesson. So when Omaeda disappeared from the battle once Hachi showed up I thought it was him waiting for the right moment to strike taking Soi Fon's lesson to heart. (Unfortunately for me the payoff I was expecting for the previous two scene never played out in this arc, nor the thousand year blood war arc.)
Second, once Baraggan starting talking about how his Respira is absolute, I realized that Kubo was setting up the fact that it also could effect him. So after Soi Fon with Hachi's aid managed to cause such significant damage to Baraggan's head I thought he would have to suppress the Respira around the wound so not to be afflicted by its power. With now a clear weak spot I felt even Omaeda's Gegetsuburi, if swung hard enough without Baraggan seeing it would have been enough to finish him off. And even in the event that Kubo wanted to have Baraggan realize the attack was coming and instictively block it with Respira, do so would mean Respira pouring into his wound giving us a similar ending to which we ultimately got.
I do really wish Barragan had more of a role in the story he’s one of my favorite characters in the entirety of bleach just on the little screen time he had
well first off soi fon's bankai is basically mind blowing ... not only can it hit a being that fossilizes everything everything that comes near it ... in other words the blast transcends time itself , thus cannot be
measured .. but i love how kubo simply used barragan's own ability in a completely believable way ... as teleportation does not require movement or speed and to stab him with his own blade is possible
I think this fight should have either been only Hachi and Soi-Fon, or Soi-Fon should have been the start with her Bankai hitting him and doing as much damage as it did the second time but to his Arrancar form then Uketake fights his Resurrecion
I think it is the forbidden teleportation kido that hachi uses, maybe the same one tessai uses in the turn back the pendulum arc to move all the visored and Kisuke but just on a smaller scale.
"I am strong, you cannot beat me!!"
"Here. Let me give you a hand with that."
"AHHHHH!!!" *dies*
soi fon should've been sent to hueco mundo instead... Zommari vs soi fon (Speed) & Arrogant baragan vs Prideful byakuya would've been much better matchups
Yeah that would've actually been pretty cool to see.
Great Idea!
Barragan was cool villain for Sui-Feng. She could just use her shikai and finish the battle in 1 second. Their battle could have more emoticional stakes.
did u even read/watch the fight -.- he was toying with her,she couldn't even get close to him when he was in his base
I really like your videos. But you should investigate a little bit more about how words in Spanish are pronounced, when making a video about the arrancar arc.
so much time was wasted on the low stakes underling fights
the whole 4 pillars deal and then both harribel and barragans men deals did not need to all happen
kira fight was awesome, hisagi fight was sick, yumichika fight was entertaining, ikkau fight was important for ikkaku and showing the difference between a real captain bankai and a CAPTAIN LEVEL BANKAI,and harribel fraccion fight wasnt even that long and we definitely wanted to see yama crushing them
@@mistywoods6560 honestly i was so bored and just wanting to see the espada
ikkau fight was important for ikkaku
how he never really gets another fight and learns nothing from his ass kicking...also he never used his bankai in that fight and was mocked for not useing it
@@scottgrasser9737 other than ikkaku,it was important to show the difference in power between actual caltains bankai and people like ikkakau.there is a lot of who though ikkaku was actually captain level.anyway,u like wat u like but i really enjoyed the fraccion fights, yama crushing harribel fraccion and kira and hisagi fight they still sick till this day
@@mistywoods6560 to me the big problem was it took a entire year of weekly chapters to get though them
its not so bad not were you can read them all in a row but back then it was agonizing and i remember a lot of bleach fans getting sick of it
its 7 or so fights of nothing but fodder
less important and cool then what came before and what is about to happen
the fights themselves by themselves have nothing wrong with them the biggest issue was once again a entire year of the big fighters just sitting there waiting
hisagi vs findor was better than the top 3 espada fights tbh
Technically it is stealth if no one survives to tell the story
I almost cry when you said "sonaido"... omg
I really like Soi Fon so I enjoyed this fight despite the downsides, she deserved some more time to shine
LET'S GOOOOOOO MR.T
I put respect on Hachigen’s name. I think this is the best fight of them all because it is decided by strategy and planning of a well seasoned battle mage manipulating the rules established already.
Folks who lost an arm at some point in the story:
Grimmjow for a few chapters
Yamamoto
Soi fon
Hachi
Tres Bestias for their chimera
Uryu
Yammy
Mayuri
Pretty sure Chad at some point
Aizen
Jidanbo
@@CelVini Bro! I forgot Aizen snuck up on the list in the final chapters!
And good catch on the big dude. Remind me, did Gin cut his arm off in the manga instead of just getting stabbed in the anime?
@@lazyscholar7932 yeah, in the Manga half of Jidanbo's arm was gone. Also, Gin himself lost his arm to against Aizen 😆
I mean, it does make sense for a lot of people to hate Soi Fon's Bankai, as she really hate it herself, she did mention that it does go against anything the second division stand for (although not exactly in those words)
Zoner vs. Rushdown is a battle matchup as old as time itself, just like Zoner vs. Grappler.
Barragan had to be my favourite in the Espada line up as well as his design. It’s very unfortunate that they didn’t have him fight Yamamoto which would have been potentially hype! Also it was such a disrespect to the King of Hueco for him to face and get outsmarted by a lesser captain in the line of Gotei members. I personally think he should have been written to be near impossible to kill and hence lives instead of Harribel, it doesn’t make sense that his own power kills him, that’s just lazy
One could just chalk it up to narration stretching time (like DIO's "9 seconds" of time stop) but the kido container where Hachi's arm was in was not only teleported but it also seemed to slow down the effects of Respira inside.
A lot of people think Soi Fon’s bankai doesn’t fit her but if you think about it its not that unfitting. I think the concept of her bankai is similar to Byakuya’s hakuteiken, meaning that it is a last resort after Soi Fon’s close combat martial arts dont work and she abandons it all for the intent to kill. Abandon all defense and focus on offense to destroy the enemy.
Good video
I kinda enjoyed this fight, there were some ups and downs but I'd personally rate it 4/10
Its kinda ironic that baraggan got killed by his own ability. And to this day I still don't get how Omaeda survived. I think this fight is one of the more lackluster fights in the fake karakura town arc especially for a character that is the de facto ruler of hueco mundo.
I would love to see a fight analysis video about aizens fight with Ishin, Kisuke, and Yoruichi!
Now that I think about it, how else would they of been able to beat him?
Synysterpain thats why i am quite satisfied with how hachi defeated him. Because if not by that way, how else?
I agree, and his defeat is perhaps the most satisfying part of the battle.
@@MrTommo2304 yeah, he had the best defeat out of the 3. Starks felt a bit unceremonious.
Synysterpain ye, pulling the strings of 'shunsui is okay with dirty tricks during battle'. Halibel on the other hand is redeemed in a way by remaining her alive till cfyow. But still cheap 'oof aizen dont need you anymore' crap.
MrTommo2304 and tekking101 the 2 best youtubers that talk about bleach
I would have loved to see more captain and vice Captain synergy and fights and bleach that's the one thing I did like about this fight.
