Scariest looking aliens from Dr Who:
    1) Weeping Angels
    2) Vashta Nerada
    3) The Silence
    Who agrees with me?

      It's Silent.

I think a real creep factor of the original blink angels over the others, is a sort of audience participation in the behaviour of the angels. They always appeared on camera as stone, even if no characters in the scene are looking at them. Anytime the camera was looking away you had no idea where they could appear next, and fear for the characters.

I'm so proud of Tom, it's astounding how far he's come. I remember when his channel was only a few subs strong, and now here he is with Christel Dee on the official Doctor Who UA-cam channel. This must be how that one famous footballer's mum felt when her son became famous.
Well done, Tom, you glorious bugger!
(Also great show everyone involved nice and enjoyable :) )

I think the reason the angels were moving slow in Flesh and Stone was because Amy was walking like she could see so they were confused and taking precaution.

It was great to see such creative and eerie monsters in an era if Doctor Who that was generally full of rubbish ones. Sarry Sparrow and Larry Nightingale also made such a great duo and it's a shame they were only there for a single episode.

I think Blink is easily one of the best Doctor Who episodes of all time. Its one of my favorites. The only thing I wish as that there had been an episode continuing on the adventure that Martha and The Doctor were on at the end of the episode, with the lizards and what not.

You all damn sure hit the nail on the head with your reasoning. By chance, I ended up watching the "Blink" episode before actually starting the series online. The first thing that became apparent to me was the music. It had this very haunting electrical production with violin crescendos. Not only that, but it has this chilly sort of bell that happens to keep the rhythm of the ambiance alive. It's plain out freaking chilling.
Then all of the creepiness happens. You're wondering where the doctor is, all of these coincidences spring to life and suddenly the angels start exerting their nature onto your life. They're such a dominating, but silent power that you have no choice, but to feel paranoid of their existence. Again, I started with Blink, but watching it gave me enlightenment. I didn't know who The Doctor was at that point, but that his explanation of the angels was amazing.
What really drove it home for me has to be, as you all stated, Sally Sparrow and the brother. They're just normal people, but they're inquisitive. They unknowingly find and figure out these clues laid for them. They're just two simple people, but they're amazingly simple. I don't know how I'd summarize them, but their actors and the emotions they conjure give me chills.

I think it's fine when the weeping angles move slightly since it's as if they're not sure whether they're going to be caught or not, being cautious and staying in stone form. Whereas, if they can get away with it, they'll move at the blink of an eye and are full of colour.
*When the angles move in Flesh and Stone, I'd say it's because Amy's moving with her eyes closed (so they move), but as if she can see (so they remain stone).

This review is really funny. It hits the point !
I am really angry at everyone making short clips to this episode. They took away everything what was good about this episode and just left you with the cheap thrill. Because of this experience in several cases I NEVER WANTED TO SEE " BLINK " IN MY LIFE ! Luckily for me the Germans translated the title new so I became awaire of what I wss watching rather late and by then :.. I enjoyed this episode. So I am glad I have seen it from the beginning to the end. BLINK is full of great ideas and wonderufull emotional moments.

I only recently watched a few episodes of the fan show. I rank Blink as one of, if not the best. But, although I liked them in Blink, I'm not a big weeping angel fan. I was surprised that there was not really much mention of what I liked most...the whole wibbly wobbly timey whimey aspect that permeates the whole story. This story came way before River Song arrived (at least in our perception of time). I've been a fan since the 80's. I may have missed a bit from the Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy years, I never got comfortable with Colin. The idea of The Doctor going back in and actually interfering with the past was sometimes used and was justified because he had always been a part of that past. So this was, for me, the first and best attempt to use the whole wibbly wobbly thing. The Doctor using information from his (and Sally's) future to work in her past with someone from Sally's present who gets sent into her past and then "communicate" with her in the present from her past.

Well, what i can say? I loved the episode with the weeping angels so much and yes, i totally agree with you, taking the doctor's power away and just focus in another completaly different point of view, just like in "Love and Monsters", was amazing. That's one of my favourite episodes because of this point. And about Sarah Sparrow... Wow, what a cute and wonderful girl. When i saw her for the first time i thought "God, if the Doctor's was a woman, it would be Sarah Sparrow." No joking!

The reason why I think Blink is named as "scary" is because it breaks the forth wall in the biggest way possible. If you look closely at the episode, you can see that the angels move when the characters AS WELL AS the audience are not looking. This is best shown at 4:07 - when 'our' (the audiences) view of the angel is blocked by Sally and therefore, the angel moves - after all, "an angel can not be observed by any living creature". This is also present at again at 10:45 . Basically, Blink involves the audience with the 'theory' of the episode.

    The key to WHOm the Doctor is partly lying with the Weeping Angels;
(the new Universetimeline (the one containing River Song) that began with episode Big Bang an June 26th 2010-(and sneakily also heard about and that ALSO began in Episode Doomsday; yeah 26th of June 2010 was also seen in that episode)
In the classic Doctor Who Universetimeline (seen 1963-2006 2010 and during the 50th and for 1min during series 8 when Clara took the TARDIS back into the classic Universetimeline (when the saftey feature normally preventing this was deactivated)
If it is complicated to see this; think; Gallifrey was transported away from the classic Universetimeline to the New Universetimeline.
    BUT
as said; the key to whom the Doctor is and partly explained thru the Weeping angels are:
that In the classic Universetimeline there "once" existed the exact same thing as the weeping angels in that "classic" Universetimeline:
The Ragnarrookians; as per seen in 7th Doctor story; The greatest show in the Galaxy:
and this point at a Timelord/Weeping angel connection: and the bit about Rassilon last act in the classic Universetimeline was to activate a Ascension device. (as per mentioned in End of TIme pt 2)'
= When the Doctor(s) transported away Gallifrey past and thru the void (between Universis)and into the new Universetimeline:
The transport interfered with the ascension process that was set in motion and thus "stopping/slowing down" the Ascention process that Rassilon just had set in motion:
And Only those present in the Gallifreyan High counsil was fully asended before the procees was halted
=Missy is not just the Master: She is also the new Universetimeline version of the Black Guardian. (of the Guardians of time)
=Rassilon is the new Celestial Toymaker
AND here the big twist comes:
Half of the BAD WOLF entitiy is also ascended in the process. And became the new White Guardian.
Because both Rose and Jackie Tyler was present at the Gallifreyan High counsil (in End of time pt2)
(we know this becase of the events seen in episode Doomsday/Journeys end + Fathers Day/Rings of Akahaten+ what the Moment said in the 50th special about Rose (Bad Wolf girl) Tyler being both in the Doctors past and future)
AS the Doctor is Full/Half brother to Rose Tyler = aka Half Human (Jackie Tyler) and half extra terestrial (Pete Tyler) AND being the child of TWO diffrent Universetimelines = The Hybrid)
and the Valeyard/Meta crysis is The Master´s father = Rose Tyler is the Master´s mother
and Yeah that parallel Earth was at some time after the Cybermen conqured that "parallel" Earth transported into the Classic series Universetimeline into our Solar system and became the TwinEarth known as Mondas. (same planet moving process as seen in Stolen Earth/Journeys End)
and the Refugess (that was saved by a diffrent Doctor then our Doctor (aka Tony Tyler)) from that Earth(Mondas) later become the Timelords (aka how Rose/Jackie Tyler ended up in the Gallifreyan High Counsil in the episode End of time)
(and that diffrent Doctor became with time the Timelords curator/caretaker we know as Rassilon (whoms Timemachine stands as a huge dark towerin a death zone on Gallifrey /Just as our Doctors Timemachine one day will do on Trenzalore.)
All this partly deducable from the Weeping Angel/Ragnarookian connection. (and Yeah the doctor being perhaps from a diffrent Unvierse was hinted about during the 2nd season of the 7th Docotor story Ghostlight (4th part toward the end)
ANd Yeay The Timelords (out side the Gallifreyan High counsil) on Gallifrey will be trapped in a half alive Half ascend state (the Weeping angels) as both the ppl and Gallifrey it self will be transformed (into becoming Trenzalore)
And Yeah Clara Oswald is the same as Tony Tyler once was: also a 2 universehybrid as per hinted about in the begining of Rings of Akahaten; when Claras mother saved Calras father and the hidden voice when the car should had killed....(Directly comparable to episode Fathers Day that made our Doctors birth possible in the future/past.....
= Alswho y the 9th returned to life in the church)

I read somewhere that Moffat wrote Larry to be based on Lawrence Miles, a writer who contributed to a lot of the novels during the hiatus and is...well...a bit of a self-satisfied, unlikeable jerk. He systematically pissed off all of the writers and creative people he knew during the 90s, many of whom have gone on to do stuff with the BBC and Big Finish. Miles wrote a scathing review of 'The Unquiet Dead' in 2005 insisting that the Gelth represented asylum seekers and Gatiss was pushing an anti-immigration message. So when Larry smugly says he believes that "Look to your left" was meant as a political statement, this is supposedly Moffat referencing Miles. I'd be interested to know if this is true.

Blink has be reviewed, analysed and overexposed so much that it's becoming boring now.

+manzilla48 I remember when Blink was this hidden gemstone amongst so many episodes of science fiction shows out there, an episode that not many people knew about. Now, if you tell somebody on the street "don't blink" they'll run for their lives.
