- 5am on the Sunday morning when the FIA WEC Championship #91 Porsche GTE Pro car comes in for a pit stop driver change. The pit crew spring into action no matter what time of day it is. Fantastic to view so close up, you can almost smell the hot race car and fresh Michelin tyres.
awesome audio quality. I love the sound of the impact wrenches.
The brake dust!!! XD
ik f1 has it so bad

sounds amazing on open back headphones, idk what this was recorded on
@@Ardeact I recorded it on my iPhone !! 📲
The grounding wire fixed to the rear wing reminds me of my days of working around jets. Awesome
What does wires do ?
@@kazumiseijimost likely it eliminates the risk of static discharge that could cause a fire during refuelling. My best guess.
@@718.spectre You are absolutely right !
@@718.spectreRemember the scene in Ford v Ferrari where Matt Damon's Aston Martin catches fire? Exact same reason you mentioned.
Isn't the wing CF? CF has poor electrical conductivity
I will never get tired of this
yeaaaaaa
the car balance looks perfectly set up
how do you mean that?
@@erdinca.2448 i think he means the brake balance
@@erdinca.2448 weights wheels and some more
If you had a million dollar + budget for your car I'd expect it to look pretty balanced too. 😅
Fantastic , loved the way the Porsche was raised off the ground to change tyres
isn't that through air pressure to lift the car with built in stands?
@@joao_13_08yup
@@joao_13_08yeah
Could you imagine if that's what an oil change and new tires looked like for the public? Crazy.
The reason why wheel changes take so long on normal cars is because they are separating your old tires from your rims, putting on new ones, and then balancing those. Here they just bring a ton of wheels.
@@RandomCommenter-qu2oc even if you have tires already mounted on another set of wheels there are multiple bolts to remove and they also need to be torqued manually
that sound, it's like from heaven
when the car drops it's legit something out of a movie
Porsche sound is crazy... I never heard a better sound.
0:53 best moment
These cars just different man. The way it just came into the pit and stopped instantly
What was the cable he clamp on the rear wing and the tire guy flicked away?
its ground cable
yes it's for electrostatic decharge before fuelling petrol.
It helps to prevent fires from the refueling stage. It's a ground cable
Man that’s awesome
That suspension looks rock solid
beautiful
That is so sick
Those drills sound cute af
*reads title* - Man, that’s a long pit stop…
Me & you could've done it faster 😅
That dust must be a deadly one
First time ive seen motorsport without the commentary
so sick
So slow, yet satisfying
Why did they have to wait for the end of the refuel before changing tires ?
Safety first
It’s because of the rules, in the SRO world challenge series we change the tires during fueling, which is lame. Doing fuel first then tires is better racing because if you have faster tire changers than other teams you have an advantage and can gain time during your pit stop, which in my opinion is better racing
To promote more strategy variance.
Also that by doing it in two parts they'll have an option, either change only tires or only refuel during a pit stop, means the crew would be trained like that.
Because Europeans love rules more than anything.
cool 👌
The sound of the other cars in the background
how did the car lift? was there any jack or something to maintain car while Tire changing?
GTE cars has pneumatic cylinders on the ground. 0:40 there you see how they introduce the compressed air
@@marquesdeportago1596 cool thanks for the info. Man 🤞
nice graphics!
These guys are strong, not sure how heavy tires are but they handle it like cotton candy,.
So this impact does an torque to ? Or how they know all 4 are same torqued ?
The impact gun is self regulating. You just pull the trigger and hammer it. It gets to a preset torque and that's it.
There's some pneumatic jack under the car??
Yes. They just need to connect an air compressor for the jacks to lift the car. It will hold the car for as long as they release the air. You can hear the escaping air at the end when the car makes contact with the ground.
Wish I could change my tires that quickly
Do you use earplugs by any chance? Do they sound very loud?
I sure do ! Noise cancelling Bose
What lifts the car ?
The cars have built in jacks and they deploy when an air line is attached to the car.
Pneumatic Jacks
@@DeadEye0767 Wouldn't that make the car heavier for no good reason ?
@@Yadeehoo Im not fully versed on GT racing but given GT cars are bigger and heavier than say an F1 or other forms of open wheeler's for example carrying the jack equipment in the chassis is probably a good chunk of the cars minimum weight requirement anyway.
@@Yadeehoo all endurance car have it so no adventages
Looks like they are earthing the carbon.
What’s the thing he clipped onto the wing end plate ?
It grounds the car while fuelling to stop any kind of static on the car triggering a fire.
Can someone explain pls why the guy clipped someting to spoiler?
Grounding. This is a hybrid I guess

😍😍❤❤🥰🥰
how car start fast like that
Auto start
@@nacho5oh867 I do not think so. They do not start automatically.I watched so many pov and onboard videos and I saw car starting by driver. This just my idea. The driver presses and holds the clutch and gas before the car starts. As soon as the fuel pump comes out, he presses the start button and releases the clutch when it starts. What I don't understand is that there is no starter sound. Fuel pump comes off and exhaust sound is heard, car goes
must be some high quality racing starter and high pressure fuel pump
Ok what the hell pushes the car to lift up like 7 inches off the ground? does the car has its own jack installed into it underneath??
"Airjack" its a jack thats operated with pressured air. You can see them hooking it in before they change tyres and unhook it before the car drops.
0:52 on replay.. dear lord
lmp1 car casually driving by
🥰🥰❤❤😍😍
Why dont they lift the car first and start changing tires while refueling
Damn that thing stops on a dime
Single nut wheels like F1 cars.

Still faster than a ferrari f1 pitstop

ah yes the 911 gt3 is the best
1 minute pitstop??? Kick saucer could teach these boys a few things
certain things like fueling/tire changes are required to be done separately, as well as having a limited number of people working on the car.
Maybe it's just me, but I think that pit stops shouldn't impact the outcome of a race. There should legitimately be some sort of time compensation so that racers don't have to worry about pit crews and pit crews don't have to worry about rushing.
It's called strategy. Good pit stops are and should be important for the race. Racing is a team sport.
Yeah, but what if you want it to be solo and not have to worry about pit stops?
@@dabajabaza111 you have some races with that (mostly low category).
where the pit stops are mandatory, and cant be faster than X amount of time, so every team dont rush them. and also beacuse its mandatory, nobody loose time, bacuse all loose the same time.
but normaly most popular races have like this, fast pit stops to add show to the race, also the strategy like stargazer says.
I can't be the only one who thought this was from a game. The lighting is screwing with me.
They sure are taking their sweet time!
There is a mandated minimum pit time, so they're just making sure they work within that time frame, this isn't like F1 where's it's get it done asap
still faster than Ferrari lol
yoo Guido is still faster
my wife stops on refrigerator at night in the same manner
Смотри пинк
Мне одному казалась что это быстрее ?
CG?
So, they are not allowed to change the tires while refueling?
Nope. I'm guessing safety reasons as using those power tools around fuel could be a fire hazard. They even have the grounding cable to avoid sparks. However as others have pointed out, this makes the pit stops more competitive. If the tires could be changed during refueling everyone could take their time and basically all pit stops would take the exact same amount of time. This way fast tire changes are actually a time save if your opponents are slower
Dude stopped turbo engine immediately that worth 100k, my dad slapped me for that once, but that was 1.9TDI
Yebeher vheraway si re cheie mereijaasofna

F1: pathetic
This Is So Slow Compared To Other Pitstops.
Well yeah, because you have a lot more time in the race, and the crew is more limited.
