Love this song, and Dallas's stuff with City and Colour. Saw City and Colour out in suburban Victoria BC in 2013.. Amazing show. Have several C and C albums.
ok i was mad he left and saw him live and OMG he was sooooo good. completely forgiven. I had a burned CD of his solo stuff way before he re recorded it
Alexisonfire provided the tunes for my 8th grade and freshman year of high school. Miss this stuff. Wish I never stopped listening to it. The balance of Dallas and George is really unique and captures such a dynamic range of music. Years back when I listened to AOF, I was a immature kid who had some weird emotions... while I've grown up a lot since then (thank God that I did) I still love this music.
Travis Lee Omfg, thank you so much for this comment. I had no idea they were touring again!!! I had a ticket to their last UK gig but couldn't make it, I was gutted!
Well this year you just might have your chance to see them.Their hitting ALOT of places around the world, and its going to make so many people happy to be able to see them for maybe one last time.
I just PRAY when this is over they might hit the studio and give something.Maybe just an EP. Who knows.I just hope everyone keeps spreading the word. Most of the fans dont even know about this!!
Saw this band at one of their last shows last night in Edmonton and had the most amazing time ever. These guys hold a special place in my heart, I love them so much.
After I came home from my deployment I knew my woman had been with another man for a while and these lyrics were the only thing that made sense to me of what I was going through at the time.... Thanks Dallas Green!! Don't look so surprised that I'm home, but just for tonight. With rough hands and sore eyes so don't speak, I am tired. Let's just live through this lie.
other lyrics that suit this situation....**These hoes ain't loyal. xD we've all been through it brother. You'll find one worth your time in the sea of twisted mentalities ;)
I used to listen to this song over and over in the guard towers while I was in Iraq in 2010. I was 20,and my girlfriend/highschool sweetheart broke up with me 3 days after my buddy got killed. I could really relate with the lyrics. Two people, too damaged too late.
thanks to alexisonfire for getting me through so much in my teen years, this is the music of my youth. their lyrics are so inspiring. there is no other band out there like alexisonfire, they'll be greatly missed!!
This song brings out so many emotions in me. Its the perfect portrayal of a broken relationship. Its beautiful and heartbreaking, all at the same time. "I'm not saying she's my last, I'm just saying that she could have been" That line gives me goosebumps.
You know a band is good when you started listening to it when you were a teenager and even in your older mature years the music still evokes the same feeling and emotions... Alexisonfire never gets old.
I'll agree to this, Years ago I remember listening to them and just the feeling and emotions from their songs stayed with me all these years. They helped me through some hard times and made some good times even better. Alexisonfire is a rare type of band, they changed many lives.
Couldn't have lived without you Alexisonfire. Glad we could enjoy your music for those 10 years. Your songs will never be forgotten; they will always be alive in our hearts
The first and only time I've ever seen them play live was at my first warped tour and they were the first band I saw that day. I will always remember that day forever. Since that day they have been one of my favorite bands. Miss these guys.
"One day my hands were too soft. One day she said, "I'm tired". One day her clothes were on my floor. One day, empty bottles. Well I'm not saying she's my last. I'm just saying that she could have been. It doesn't matter how rough these hands get. It doesn't matter cause I'm not her man."
Devilsmygrandpap that was what she was saying, some people were complaining about George's parts, saying they sucked and were ruining Dallas's parts. I think though that the screaming is great though
A bunch of tools were on here trashing the rest of the band. It's like.. People, this is Post-Hardcore, if you want something soft, go listen to City & Colour.
Frosty2113 THANK YOU. I hate it when people get on post-hardcore and stuff like thats videos and complain about the screamed vocals, I mean, if you dont like it, dont listen. Nobody cares, if you want something without screaming theres WAY MORE stuff out there without it than there is with it. Those people can GTFO and listen to some soft music if thats what they want
"Sometimes love isn't about how much someone suits you, but how much you're willing to change to suit them." Yup. That line definitely doesn't bring any meaning to the song. I think the lyrics to the George's parts are just fine. I've never been a fan of screaming, but it suits the song well.
The years when music like this came out and youd get so excited to hear these new kinds of bands, now they are just famous works of art. I wish they'd keep it going. alot of the best bands just stop and it sucks :( Least they got the fame they deserve :)
This i can honestly say is my all time fav band...first time heard them was on a mix cd in elementary school...was instantly hooked...happiness by the kilowatt is by far my fav song...when i heard his acoustic version i about died
This just has 2006 to 2011 encapsulated in a very Special way hopefully another generation will appreciate all this music and revive it to the best that they can
Omg... This brings back sentimental memories... This song used to make me ball my eyes off... Id sit there for hours with it blaring until I couldnt even hear my own thoughts, and Id just cry. This song will always be extremely sentimental and close to my heart. ❤
I'm so glad I had the chance to see them play live before they disbanded. they were amazing artists and will be on their own, much like Dallas' formation of City and Colour.
Always loved this song, I just never thought it would relate to me. Now it does, and it makes it that much better. I seriously hope these guys make it to the US on their farewell tour :(
"Czasami w miłości nie chodzi o to jak bardzo ktoś pasuje do ciebie, ale o to jak bardzo gotów jesteś się zmienić, aby pasować do niego." Piękna piosenka :)
So happy they will be touring again next year. And what makes it even better? DALLAS GREEN is back! :D maybe not for good but i have been listening to him since he split from alexisonfire and saw him in minniapolis MI and i have to say it was the best show i've ever been to. Cant wait to see him with Alexisonfire. it will be a dream come true.
I dedicated this song to my Sons mom when we were in high school, Toronto Canada, 2000s... She left me for nothing and i hate her but my son will never really know how much i hate her its his mom.... Gotta respect my kids. Love you William.
I love how they both sound depressed and at the end of their rope. Too many people hear yelling in music and think anger or rebellion, it has more emotion than just rage.
I'm currently working out in the middle of nowhere in rural Manitoba. There's this weird radio station that plays everything under the sun with no commercials, Dolly Parton one song, the next could be Run DMC. On the way to work today Rough Hands came on while the sun was coming up and it was a perfect morning. Also got to see these boys again last winter and it was better than back in the day, believe it or not.
I’ve been calling this band “Alex is on fire” for almost 20 years now, and just found out it’s “Alexis on fire”. My mind hasn’t been this blown since I actually read “At The Drive In” lyrics.
Among some of my absolute favorite memories in life were the times in 2009 where me and my fuckbuddy at the time would drive around in my truck singing this out loud together! And then I'm reminded of all the attention she deserved that I never gave her. Its kinda how ironic how bittersweet all of it is... Thank you Alexisonfire!
Would Just like to say. been here since there release, my Drama/Media Teacher is from there home town, and the first night i saw them live, made my life almost complete.
This band was the eventual reason why I was able to listen to Death Metal. Listening to George just worked for me, and since I was listening to the heavy stuff, it just went there. To me I thought it was kinda neat. One thing led to another.
If Canada makes musicians like this I think I'll move there. Alexisonfire is one of my favorite bands and if I ever had the chance I'd have Dallas Greens babies and pray they are half as talented as that man.
Remember being young and lonely. and listening to alexisonfire in your room
AKA me right now at 3am
-_-
KBYE! it seems to circle back around.
that was like 10 years ago. still foreveralone
You good brah, fuck being forever alone, thats bullshit. ;) I don't believe ya
One of the best bands of our era. They were so underrated.
That's Canadian music as a whole for you
I would do anything to hear this song for the first time again. This song is in my top10 favorite songs of all time.
Whic favorite song in your top 10?
some bands should never end...
Joe Fagundes some bands know when to have their expiry date and leave gracefully
At least they left us with amazing music. And great memories
Theyre playing in toronto in June i got tickets!
This song is the prefect way to end an album. Crisis will always be one of my favs!
Dallas Green's voice is just amazing! His solo stuff with city and colour is stunning!
Hell yeah!
Ryan Elliott I know he is :) It's his solo stuff away from Alezisonfire ^^. "His solo stuff"
+James Malcolm agreed
Love this song, and Dallas's stuff with City and Colour. Saw City and Colour out in suburban Victoria BC in 2013.. Amazing show. Have several C and C albums.

I love how the screams are so brutal, but the guitars and singing are so soft melancholic.
Why is nobody talking about the 2015 tour? Im stoked as FUCK over this news!
Travis Lee Omfg, thank you so much for this comment. I had no idea they were touring again!!! I had a ticket to their last UK gig but couldn't make it, I was gutted!

Travis Lee CHICAGO BABY!!!
I just PRAY when this is over they might hit the studio and give something.Maybe just an EP. Who knows.I just hope everyone keeps spreading the word. Most of the fans dont even know about this!!
Travis Lee Yup theyre coming to Quebec also , i juuust cant wait .

Kyle Paul its honestly pathetic that anyone could do that, but the stereotype exists for a reason -_- tragic. People = Shit.
Thank you for your service. I'm sorry you got betrayed.
it will lead you to better things my friend
I used to listen to this song over and over in the guard towers while I was in Iraq in 2010. I was 20,and my girlfriend/highschool sweetheart broke up with me 3 days after my buddy got killed. I could really relate with the lyrics. Two people, too damaged too late.
"Sometimes love isn't about how much someone suits you. But how much your willing to change to suit them."
I have that tattooed on my hip in nautical style writing, it's still my fav tattoo
Sadly, sometimes you change so much that you lose track of who you are, yet the other person will never appreciate it and never try to change a bit.
God damn quoting ass kids, just listen to the song
Two people too damaged too much too late...
?
The best one of screamo/ emo / Post Hardcore that i heard apart of Funeral for a friend, Silverstein, Finch and Killwitch Engange!!
the correct vinacular is "the best" followed by "apart from"
all those bands you stated don't even compare, they're in their own category
Kevin Sawyer sorry. I'm italian and still i'm learning english
justislugga i know , just i said all those bands are my favorites when i heard of derivatives genres of the Hardcore punk
Gama Antoni and also Hopes Die Last from Italy
Nostalgia...
:/ pse
Dmss

😭😭😭 where have a been
such a great band
Who could possibly dislike this?
This is real music. Real feeling. Real emotions by real men!
Its alright
My butt itches?
I love the guitar in this one
I luv every single thing about this song! Cannot get enough of it!!!
Couldn't have lived without you Alexisonfire. Glad we could enjoy your music for those 10 years. Your songs will never be forgotten; they will always be alive in our hearts
the nostalgia is real right now
The only band ever. :P
remember this sound when i was 17yo XD
A totally unique, life changing band, thank you for bringing so many people together. Legends.
The first and only time I've ever seen them play live was at my first warped tour and they were the first band I saw that day. I will always remember that day forever. Since that day they have been one of my favorite bands. Miss these guys.
is that Dallas green???
Yeah this was the band he was in before City and Colour.
this has always been his BAND until recently
They young, let them be my friend.
Just saying, If I wanted to hear JUST Dallas, I would go listen to "City & Colour"...
What is the relevance of this comment? It was blatantly not just Dallas singing in this song.

Exactly.
Even after all these years, I still go back to this song and probably always will...
Velhas recordações, essa banda me traz, muuito foda!!
I love this song but the lyrics for George's parts are kinda ridiculous...
So how can you love this is you think that half of the meaning of this song is ridiculous ?
"Sometimes love isn't about how much someone suits you, but how much you're willing to change to suit them." Yup. That line definitely doesn't bring any meaning to the song. I think the lyrics to the George's parts are just fine. I've never been a fan of screaming, but it suits the song well.
So glad I saw these guys live a couple years back, one of the best gigs I've ever been to. Gonna leave a big gap in music with this band gone.
This is one of my favorite songs and Dallas green is beast. It's all about rough hands and bleed and blister.
Still alone listening...thank you guys...
The years when music like this came out and youd get so excited to hear these new kinds of bands, now they are just famous works of art. I wish they'd keep it going. alot of the best bands just stop and it sucks :( Least they got the fame they deserve :)

This song is on a very short list of perfect songs for me. Every element of it is epic and woven so well with the others. 💚💀🤘
It's amazing how much a song can describe certain parts of your life, detail by detail, one event after another.
Old scars man.
the whole album is simply brilliant. I cannot stop listening to it. And "rough hands" are smashing my emotions...
They are this amazing live!! Ive been listening to them since i was 10 and i never looked back.!!!!!!
Love this band. Saw them in London last night on their farewell tour, amazing performance!!
One of my favourite Alexisonfire songs. Brillaint.
Hadn't listened to this song in a few years. Just got the chills.
I'm so glad I had the chance to see them play live before they disbanded. they were amazing artists and will be on their own, much like Dallas' formation of City and Colour.
I love this song so much. Forever in my heart.
"sometimes love isn't about how someone suits you...but how much you're willing to change to suit them"
Love this song so much. Probably one of my favourite songs ever...
amazing band !!! they will always be remembered !
I'm late to the party, but this song is phenomenal and I was super happy to hear Dallas Green's voice!
This song help through a lot of rough times. Thanks boys for the best music I ever got to listen to!!!!!
"Sometimes love isn't about how much someone suits you
but how much you're willing to change to suit them."
So beautiful and true.
Well, I'm grateful that I at least got to see them live once! St Andrews in Detroit, show was the shit!
I remember buying there first album a few years back and it will always be the best one!
one of the best bands i seen live there performance was flawless
Always loved this song, I just never thought it would relate to me. Now it does, and it makes it that much better. I seriously hope these guys make it to the US on their farewell tour :(
"Czasami w miłości nie chodzi o to jak bardzo ktoś pasuje do ciebie, ale o to jak bardzo gotów jesteś się zmienić, aby pasować do niego."

True masterpiece (still listening in 2021)
One of the greatest songs of all time.
I dedicated this song to my Sons mom when we were in high school, Toronto Canada, 2000s...
She left me for nothing and i hate her but my son will never really know how much i hate her its his mom.... Gotta respect my kids.
Love you William.
this was the song that got me into the genre. First song I ever enjoyed that had screams in it
Same here I love this band makes me feel a certain way but good.
this song evokes so much emotion... and releases so much tension after a bad or stressful day:) awesome tune.
Thank you guys for helping me through a rough patch. You guys will always be my favorite band,
I love how they both sound depressed and at the end of their rope. Too many people hear yelling in music and think anger or rebellion, it has more emotion than just rage.
incredible, one of the greatest songs for sure
So pumped! I got VIP tickets to their December 29th show in Toronto
Quite possibly one of my top three favorites from Alexis on Fire.. Along with Sharks and Danger and This Could Be Anywhere in the World.
Dallas green is an amazing artist! I just love the dudes voice

Great song. Wish they'd make some more.. Amazing band i miss them
discovered this band yesterday :)
really like their music
Among some of my absolute favorite memories in life were the times in 2009 where me and my fuckbuddy at the time would drive around in my truck singing this out loud together! And then I'm reminded of all the attention she deserved that I never gave her. Its kinda how ironic how bittersweet all of it is...
Thank you Alexisonfire!
I don't think a song can get any better than that.
loved it the first time i heard it a bunch of years ago in high school still love it now (y)
Would Just like to say. been here since there release, my Drama/Media Teacher is from there home town, and the first night i saw them live, made my life almost complete.
imo the best alexis song....and happiness by the killowatt...actually theres more i cant decide
love this band and this song
Ahh the excellence of post hardcore Alexisonfire reigns supreme. Never a band before, never ahead.
This song is so beautiful. God Dallas has such an amazing voice *sigh*.
This band was the eventual reason why I was able to listen to Death Metal. Listening to George just worked for me, and since I was listening to the heavy stuff, it just went there. To me I thought it was kinda neat. One thing led to another.
Simpley put, Canada gave us Alexisonfire, nuff said. Keep on rockin' my northern friends.
probably my fav song of all time...
i'm so happy they are doing a final tour
If anyone doesn't know, the soft or gentle singer's name is Dallas Green and he is a solo performer who is named City and Colour
i love Georges screaming on this it somehow just mixes so well . Its not really screaming just really raspy singing.
If Canada makes musicians like this I think I'll move there. Alexisonfire is one of my favorite bands and if I ever had the chance I'd have Dallas Greens babies and pray they are half as talented as that man.
The Piano playing in this beautiful.
I forgot how much I loved this song.
amazing
The way George sings the chorus is how I wish he sang for Young Cardinals/Old Crows
Musica perfeita! ♥
Freakin awesome drums on this track
