  • Birds are important in my little garden all year long but winter can be especially hard on them. As seed heads become less available as the season wears on, I like to offer a variety of feeding methods to accommodate all the ways birds of different species feed.
Here are links to the products mentioned in the video. I don't collaborate with any of the companies, I simply like the product and have found them effective in my garden.

Hi there! My name is Heather and I garden in zone 5b, recently changed to 6a, in the southwest suburbs of Chicago on a small residential lot. My garden lives a whole lot larger than it is and I love sharing tips and tricks, as well as plenty of mistakes, with others who love to play in the dirt.

Wild Birds Unlimited in Lisle is my go to. Great stores! I don't have luck with dry meal worms. They always leave them, so I don't try anymore. I like the Fiery Feast for my box feeders. The squirrels leave it alone. Yes on the Coopers Hawk. I do see in mine as the birds scatter, but dive ride in when he leaves. So much activity going on to watch back there. It's fun. Ofcourse love my beautiful Cardinals, and keep the Finch feeder outside my window. I don't know how they can handle this Cold, as I freeze in it! 😄❤ Love seeing you more often, Heather! 🤗 Thanks

I love taking care of the birds in the winter too❤️
A little hint for your peanut butter. When you’re storing it stored upside down when you open it all the oils Inc. it will save you time. It’s lovely.

I ❤the peanut butter idea 💡, I don’t put feeders next to my house because the chance of snow or ice coming off the roof, has destroyed a few feeders 😢

I didn’t get my new bird feeder in the ground before the ground froze. I’m so disappointed.

Are the peanuts raw or roasted? I buy that brand a lot to roast for myself.
