Another great video Tim loving the commentary, I am feeling every gust and piece of turbulence. When learning to ski your first lessons are how to fall without hurting yourself. RC helis is similar the early days are avoiding crashing🤣🤣. You are doing great and in control! I guess this is the priority now. I am 7 months into learning and it seam a perpetual cycle of wait for the weather slot, a flying sessions, wait for spare to arrive and wait for the weather. 😂😂. Its all worth it in the end and to see a RC Heli flying around has to be one of the greatest visual experience in our wonderful hobby.
Need to forget about inverted flight and work on stable flights and work on doing figure 8's and also fly with the heli facing you and with it not facing you then work on it flying it facing to the right and then to the left. Inverted flight looks awesome but until you have the things I've said to practice mastered and you don't make noises like you are scared it's going to crash while flying I'd stay away from inverted flight. Goodluck and lots of crashes to come but with each you'll improve and eventually inverted flight.
Oh my goodness! You are brave, having the plan to go inverted with such short experience with this heli! I guess someone saved you with sending this wind on that day (from crashes)!! It took me three years to get inverted - and many more chrashes! Good to see you progress! Keep going!!
One BIT of advice, if it feels touchy ADD expo like 20% to AILERON/ELEVATOR, ALSO fly over the grass, a crash on the ASPHAULT will cause MORE damage than a crash on the GRASS. Nice start for you though.
It’s been a long time since I’ve flown that little Heli but I fully intend to get it out again shortly, it was definitely very twitchy, I’m so slow at putting stick inputs in that I can get overwhelmed very easily… so I’ll definitely be slowing things down for the next time out 👍
@@TimsRcsurgery Good. also LOWER your end points AND DUAL RATES on your radio, from 100% to around 80% on your AILERON AND ELEVATOR, this will also slow things down, as you get better you can DECREASE EXPO and INCREASE your Dual Rates and END points.
Its a good idea to takeoff on the tarmac and move to the grass for any 3D...if it crashes on the tarmac it will do a lot more damage and will not be able to escape damage...on grass it is surprising how much of a smash it will recover from...even with recovery mode it hits the deck quickly. With a heli when its windy it should be relatively stable if you keep it flat...once you give it an angle into the wind the wind will catch it so you also need to give negative pitch to compensate at this point...but this is more for the advanced flier....great you did not try the inverted and you still have the model in one bit.
@@TimsRcsurgery yep...in the controller setting if you choose value 3 for 'speed', 'agility' and also 'gyro' for both 'elevator' and 'aileron' it makes it very controlable for a beginner. Wind is not a great idea for a beginner as you dont get propper feedback...fighting the wind gets you confused...nothing like a calm day when you are learning. However guys from the North of Eire are fast learners :)
@@andyMSH700 I’ll definitely change the settings before next flight, I already did change them going on others recommended settings, but these guys can fly already. It’s great, so lively and does exactly what’s asked, but just a little too sharp for me at this stage
@@TimsRcsurgery yep...that worked for me Tim.... also if you are using Jonas settings then fly in normal mode first as it will be super soft and easy to control but will be no good in wind for inverted as the wind will be too strong. In normal mode you can also do 3D in a fairly soft manner. To get weather its a good idea to try early in the morning or late in the aftrenoon where you get the pond effect. In the middle of the day the old weather is usually up to its tricks around gusts and wind.

Oh I think that was the last time I’ve flown and that was months ago 😱
I’ll have to start from scratch again now 🤦♂️😂

Keep going mate - perhaps my series might help! Good drills.......
I’ll have a look buddy!! 😃
Flying helicopters aged me 10 years 😄😄 you did great considering our awful weather 👍👍👍😀😀
Great flight, getting better brother, have a great weekend
Thanks Duke! You too dude
Your getting better
Thanks Ivan 😃
Drop the thr curve to 40%. It’s more than enough and will give u more flight time
So just slow everything down essentially? It does feel very “wicked” for me at the moment
@@TimsRcsurgery it will be easier to control

Yea, it was fun.. I think it feels just a little too reactive for my abilities, I might dumb it down a little for the next flight. But I’m loving it 😊
