- This tutorial will show you how to crochet a little girl’s pretty summer dress / top / tunic. This tutorial is suitable for beginners.
For size 0 - 6 months use a 3.5mm crochet hook
For size 6 - 12 months use a 4mm crochet hook
For size 1 - 2 years use a 4.5mm crochet hook
For size 2 - 3 years use a 5mm crochet hook
For my dress I used a 4mm crochet hook and Drops Baby Merino yarn in the colour Yellow (fine weight yarn). Please use fine yarn in order to get the correct size.

Thank you for watching x
Love love love the pattern. Started making for my daughter but yoke ended up being too big for her so i made my own yoke for 9-12 month old with lesser foundation chain and build it up to 130 stitches and will follow your pattern from there. 😊
Right, i feel like the yoke got way too big as well. Even as I used smaller crochet hook and thinner yarn.
@@lubielu5623 did you try making your own yoke according to your child’s size. Thats what i did and it worked perfectly. Thats what i usually do if i follow someone else patterns i make my own yoke according to the size i want and after that i follow the pattern. It might have different count for stitches but in the end the dress or what ever i am making looks same as the pattern
@@Sana-ql2cq that's is indeed what I am doing. I took the pattern from the video and subtracted 38% of the numbers given.
It gave me approximately what i should be crocheting. It's a good technique.
I was a little bit surprised to see the pattern supposedly for 6-12 months old being worked so largely though. 6-12 months looked like a 3 year old's dress!!
It's just a disclaimer for the next people wanting to try making this dress. :)
@@lealubiato479hola, sabes cuantas cadenas debería colocar para una niña de 2 años? Ella pesa 12 kilos
I love your tutorials the only thing that you don’t do that would make it better for me is tell us how much wool we need for the project
I’m in love of this dress, the best part is that the process is very easy, I did it in black with a 4mm hook. I really love your videos and I just began to follow u on instagram. Now u have a super fan from Mexico.
Thank you! I am really pleased you like it x
Love your projects. Tips would be nice to give dimensions along the way and give numbers of stitches as we go along. Many thanks.
Well said I have now made the top section 5 times and it’s still massive !! Using exactly the same yarn ! With 4:5 hook it would fit a 4 year old
I love patterns, any time I want to make something I always go straight to your channel. You explain things properly and make it fun to make. X
Another awesome tutorial! My new grandbaby will be well dressed thanks to you ! Lol! So darn cute! Thank you!
Love this simple, yet beautiful dress. Sometimes less is more and I love it.
Thank you! Thank it what I always think x
Lovely little dress! Thank you! Love from Sweden
Love your tutorials would love to see some new ones 😊
Que belleza de vestido muy simple pero bello👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💝💝💝 ....sólo sería genial que estuvieras frente a la cámaras...sería fantástico....gracias!!! Saludos 💖💖💖💖
I love the color I love the stitching just beautiful!!!
The pattern is beautiful as always and easy to follow but the dress turns out waaay too big. I used a 3.5 mm hook for 0-6 months but the dress looks like one for a 3 year old
Same here. I used a 3 weight Comfy Cotton and a 3.5 hook and it's huge. At least a 4T.
Hi Busra, I totally agree with you, I used a 4m hook, & I just started the bottom half of the dress & I know by time I'm finished the it will fit a young child of 5 or 6 years of age. X
Mine to came out way to big
I have had exactly the same problem with the garment being too large. Therefore, l needed to chain less stitches in order to get the right size for the yoke. So for the 0-3 months, for the 1st round, l chained a total of 53 stitches to begin with and worked double crochet (dc) in 2nd stitch from the hook, then worked 6 dc then corner(1dc, chain 1, 1dc); then 12 dc, then corner; then 12 dc, then corner; then 12 then corner; then 6 dc. I repeated this for a total of 6 rows. I used double knit wool with 3.5 mm hook and found this scale for the yoke resembling the correct size for 0-3 months. I have noticed in some of the teachers other videos, amendments have been made to reflect better sizing for age groups using less chain and working out a maths division formula as well as using a baby clothing for correct sizing. In this video the scale of measurements for the year sizes using the hook sizes and numbers of chain stitches, l don't believe to be the correct sizing. Despite this, the teacher is excellent with teaching the subject matter, she is easily understood and pace of information is good.
I too love this tutorial as I love the instructor. However everyone of her tutorials I make the items come out way to big. It has to be the tension. While watching this video when she is done row one the piece curls significantly. I was told she is crocheting very tightly. I don’t crochet as tight. So I’m going to adjust my hook size and yarn size to see what happens. Very hard to fine size 2 yarn. I have size 1 cotton. Wish me luck!
On your tutorials I wish you would show how you do the button section. This is the hardest thing for me to do. Maybe a tutorial on just doing that, showing different types of closures. I would love it!! Beautiful dress ... TY!!
Thank you! With this dress I had to quickly finish it in order to get photos whilst the weather was sunny here! Next time i'll try and show the last step :) x
Ahhh, I am disappointed now. I have this dress half way done and realized there is no instructions for the buttons. :( Guess I can look at some other videos and wing it. I love your patterns but this is the first attempt at one of your dresses. I was trying to make 6-12 months but looks like it will fit my older granddaughter almost 3 so may have to give this one to her and do again for the baby. Thank you for all you do.
I did the half double crochet down the opening and then chained two and skipped two stitches for the button holes that works well
@@pamelawaters6793hola, y qué número de crochet utilizaste para este vestido que te salió para 3 años?
Beautiful!! Thank you for sharing
I'm having a bit of trouble making this dress. At the beginning, you said to chain 93. I did that, then from the second chain from the hook, crochet 13 double crochet, I did that too, but by the time I get to the end of the chain, there is no 13 chains left it's only 12. So in order for me to get the 13 double crochet, corner, 18 double crochet, corner, 26 double crochet, corner, 18 double crochet, corner and 13 double crochet, I had to do a foundation chain of 94
I totally agree with your comments, well done x
I agree did you ever get a reply
@@sonyagalland6189 no I haven't
I was the same !! I tried to communicate with Wooly wonders about sizing as mine is so big compared to the size on the pattern that I bought but no reply
Please save your time ...this tutorial is a waste of time.....how many failures one after the other for me, i had to search other similar videos..she never replies.........this lady crocheting does not care if there are messages awaiting her....,why do this tutorial if many are experiencing the same miscounted stitches..... I can sense she's an obese lonely bitter person.....loves to see people suffer...
Your accent and voice reminds me of my year 3 teacher. I'm now in year 5 😖 anyways love this dress! I can't make this though because I'm working on a playbook and I have no pattern. I'm just making my own pattern lol. 💖💖
But I might make this in the future xx
Están super lindos todos tus trabajos 😍 pero podríamos subirlos con subtítulos en español porfis
So cute
Hello, I love your tutorials and your creations! Your work is so beautiful! I'm almost finished making this little dress. I was wondering if you have any diaper cover tutorials that may go with this little dress? Or, if there is a pattern or tutorial you would recommend? Thank you, for sharing your talent with us!
Beautiful!!
Thank you, Trish x
Una belleza maestra !seria tan amable de subtitular en español, muchas gracias 😘
Good Evening, I thought I was doing well as a newbie to crochet, however I have got to the end of round 14 and realised the outer sections have not grown in size like the middle three. What did I do wrong? I am guessing I have to start again? :(
Ich liebe dich und deine Projekte! 😍
Love this so much! Planning on making it for my bubs coming home outfit next month!
Roughly what ply is the fine yarn? Thanks!!
That's lovely! It is yarn category 2 on the craft yarn council chart. If you have a look at my instagram stories, I have posted the chart there today x
WoolyWondersCrochet Thankyou!! :) is there any chance you have a beanie pattern using the same yarn weight?
Beautifull
Thank you x
Hi I love this dress. I have used a 3.5 crochet needle but the dress looks big for a 6 month baby is that correct? Xx
No sizing is way too big !! I did 4.5 hook and it would fit a 4 year old
@@karenpugh2630 Me too. I was going for the 1-2 years size. Mine can fit a 12 year old. No hyphen! Lol
@@marybaudoin3711 I made it with the exact yarn and a 3.5 hook and it might fit when she is 4 !!! It’s for a 2 year old
@@karenpugh2630 i bought some cotton yarn. I ordered online thought I was getting a three weight but it’s a one. I’m going to use that yarn with the hook size on the label and see what happens. Lol
@@marybaudoin3711 good luck !! I crocheted her Mia dress and the little cardigan with hearts and they were both lovely
Really sooo much nice 😍😍😍please someone help me how crochet for girl 4 years please I’m beginner 🥺🥺🥺
Can you use acrylic to make this dress?By the way you are an awesome instructor and I love your patterns❤
Hi if 4 ply yarn is used what hook size will suit for 6-12 months?
Bonito.
I tried to buy this pattern but there is no "daisy" dress listed. :) I was doing awesome until I hit row 21 and 22. I had 140 on row 20 so I don't know what I did wrong.
thats So pretty . :)
Hi, thank you for sharing. Just wondering if this is 4ply yarn? And is it wool? Please and thank you !
Hi Bree, I used fine wight yarn. I used Drops Baby Merino yarn for mine. x
So cute, do you have a book of all your patterns.
Thank you! No I don't have a book but most of my patterns are available on on my Etsy store. I'd love to release a book one day! x
hi , i am making dress in baby size 0-6mths. 3.25 hook as in the box but it is huge.....should we have 93 stitches foundation chain or less for size , love it though. xx
Yep !!! Me too
Not worth making if it’s coming out big
Would love another new video highlighting correct size
I’m having trouble with getting the 130 stitches on row 15... am I doing something wrong? I keep coming out with 120 stitches... plz help!!!
Where is the box below to increase sz. O:00
Good
OK. Can someone help me. I just bought the pattern and need the instructions for 7-9 year old dress. I don't see anywhere in the pattern where it changes the stitch number to change from a size 2-3 to a 7-9 year old.
Morning, were you able to get the stitch size? I measured my daughter this morning. She wears a size 6. This is what I came up with. I got 120 stitches. I’m using a 7 mm hook. I did 15 fir front then 23 for arm, 30 for back, 23 for arm and 15 again for front. I’m hoping this works out right. Only difference this time I’m not making a dress but a top. Hoping I figured it out right. How did yours turn out?
@@Eulaayers Yes I did. After I put this comment on here I realized the size was determined by the size of the hook along with the number of stitches. I did use a 5mm hook and did the stitches according to her body measurements. After I did the top down to her waist it was a bit small so I did my own thing with a few more stitches to make the bottom more like the party dress style but the top is the daisy dress. I'm still working on it but I think it's going to be cute. Thank you for your reply because since I know the 120 stitches will work I am going to do the daisy dress with no changes because it is so cute.
@@Eulaayers I replied to your message but I just now realized you have given me all the numbers and hook size, great. I will make this again with your stitch numbers. Thank You.
@@Eulaayers Ohhh please can u helpe me???! What about to crochet for girl 4 years old???????🥺🥺please
I really loved this dress, started making it but I lost the track after row14, I do not have 130 stiches.
Can I still go further, please help!!

I seem to be getting an extra stitch each round. Can you please help
Hi for a 2/3 t where is the pattern
i like your work could you please tell me what type of yarn you are using to make this dress
thank you
I am using Drops Baby Merino yarn. Thank you x
You haven't mentioned what age your doing how are we suposed to know???
How much chains to do for a newborn
donnet carnegie I like to know also how much chains I need for 3 months old baby.
I found that it’s really the hook. I have a loose stitch so I went down to 2.75 mm for a 6 month old. I would try a 2 mm for newborn knowing that I crochet loosely. Same number of stitches.
I also need to know how many chains for 0-3 months please. I have gone down a hook size but still too big. I cant go down any further as my yarn wont correspond. Please help baby is due tomorrow!
which material yarn do you use?
Where can I purchase the fine yarn
I'm still here
can this dress be made for a 6-7 year old?
How many skeins of the yarn
How many ply for this yarn
I completely do not understand how do you turn work after chain one after 14:52
How many chain start this 4 years girl
How many chain start this 4 years baby girl..
Ohhh And I wanna know how many chain start this 4 years girl please u know now?????!! Can u help me please 🥺🥺🥺
Well I used a size 4:5 hook for a 2 year old and would easily fit a 4 year old
Size of the yarn in the US please
Why can’t i keep the row count right???? I don’t understand...is the row count the same all the way from the first time she said it. I think it was 140???? Someone help
I had the same issue that round. I recounted the rows and realized she had not counted the original chain as the first row. When I recounted using the first dc row as round 1, I realized I was a row short. When I went back and added a row 14 of dc, the count was right on. Hope this helps.
Can’t find fine weight yarn in the U.S. is there an equivalent?
It’s a #2 weight. Hobby lobby has it in acrylic.
Where can I get the yarn you use can I get a link please !!

I used a 4.5mm hook for my 18month old and the dress is so big! Maybe my stitches are not tight enough
Deanna Yanzaguano I think u should use a 4mm hook my kid is three years old and it’s perfect for her.
I used a 5mm hook for 2-3 year old, and it's huge. I find all her patterns very big. 🐸ing tomorrow.
I am redoing it with a 3.5 mm and tight stitches and its coming out perfect now! I frogged the 1st one so i know your pain!
