Adventure in Algeria and Mexico? Elridge was on exile. You make it sound like they went back packing for the heck of it.
thank you...
When I heard that I was like “huhh??”
Nicole McP exactly what i was like...
Thank you for telling the truth.
This is what white media does. They commercialize everything. Your death, stuggle, etc etc.
Angela Davis was a FRIEND of the Black Panther Party, and worked with them on political education, but was not an actual member of the Black Panther Party. She did become personal friend with Jonathan Jackson and George Jackson, the Soledad Brother.
I have just written a similar note
@@mercwindow good
SagesseNoir very badly researched article. I am all for white people helping to spread our word but they have to help and not just be making money from us
@@mercwindow Sometimes it is intellectual laziness. Granted I was around (though only a teenager) and have the advantage of remembering some of the facts. But the narrator could have taken the time to RESEARCH some of the facts. Hell, if she even bothered to READ Angela Davis' AUTOBIOGRAPHY, she would have learned that Angela worked WITH but not from WITHIN the Black Panther Party. She helped with their educational programs, but she didn't join. I recall that a lot of people aided with the Black Panther Party programs but didn't join the Party. Some were friends and allies, not official members, Angela belonged to the Che/Lumumba Club, not the BPP
SagesseNoir exactly!
this is not well researched
My grandfather taught me that most of modern black history is B.S. When he was a young man he and my gram were running their own business and has a nice home in Chicago and I remember the neighbors getting together for the barbecues....all the neighbors, black, white, latino, some chinese. Then the civil rights movements and the government passing legislation made it more difficult to do start ups and get going and now we're stuck in the mud that our own people created. I miss my gramps. He said that one day I could be whatever I wanted to be. Even my best friend who is white never got his dream and he is angrier than I am at all this crap going on. The black panthers were a joke.
@Lala Ghana-Love Yes I am black.....Jamaican heritage and you are the glue that holds the bricks named hate, anger, mistrust and violence in the walls that separate us from one another in life. I want to like you but you're cruel and your heart is cold. My Grandfather ran a successful meat cutting business and it is still in existence today.
This is evident any time you have a white person trying to tell our history
@@PraiseYahallyenations im used to it 🤦🏿♀️
@@PraiseYahallyenations What did she say that was wrong?
These women were definitely not “unsung.” The only people who didn’t know about them were those who knew next to nothing about the Panthers until they decided to do some research to make a video. Getting the information out there is a good thing. There are also a couple of other women that we know about that weren’t even mentioned.
Assata Shakur
hakiim YES
💯
Queen of the world
Afeni and assata Shakur 👑✊🏽
Elaine Brown was definitely an informant!
Bobby says this himself in the documentary "All Power to the People" it is truly disturbing how well history has been hidden and re-written.
True
@@Neomatrixology thank you
What if Bobby was the informant?
Elaine Browne was A MOLE In the Black Panthers
Bruh
Amongst many others.
Love these women so much.
Gorgeous , smart and courageous ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻
I was literally looking for this specific video. Thanks.
Thank you so much for this piece.
I heard that they were College students, that served breakfast, held free health clinics, and was involved with the Cival Rights Movement. The Policed the Black Communities that had to deal with Police Brutality. Some people don't know the difference between the Nation of Islam, Black Panther Party, and Black Power Project. Those were some of the group's that existed during that time in the 60's and 70's. A lot of rumors have been misconstrued with the Black Panther Party, as being a hate group. Okay if they was such a hate group, then why was there White people around spectating when there was someone making a speech in public about the issues that Black people have had to face in the Black Community. I think some people took the Name of that Organization and made it out to their opinion, as to what they think that it should be about. The Black Panther Party was not the only Black Organization around during those times. Malcolm X spoke about other Black groups on TV as well.
We need them now
RIP Kathleen Smith
Asata shakur
This video completly left out the poltics of these women...so suspect
That's probably because they KNOW NOTHING about the politics of these women or about the politics of the Black Panther Party
Love my sister beautiful beings
What about Erica Huggins, Afeni and Assata Shakur. Plus the first woman who joined the BPP. Angela Davis and elaine brown need to be removed.
Elaine Brown was a member of the BPP. Angela Davis was not a member, but she did work with them on their educational program
We need them
These women werent caught up in music entertainment, professional sports, and materialism. When you listen to their conversation you know they were in tune with society. They're not concern with fashion etc...they were about a cause. In the 60's most black was about equality . We' ve lost this mind set to materialism and idolatry.meaning idolizing other humanbeing who have more money and materials than you or i do.
And that was done by design, to get the people's minds off of what the oppressor was and still is devising to do to them. To some people now, Beyoncé's baby's name means more than their own freedom.
Well said
💪🏾
Thanks for this!
And they recognized that capitalism must end if we are to create an equal society.
👍Correct, but nobody wants to hear the truth.
Capitalism can never end as long as there are people who want to be justly rewarded for their individual efforts and rewarded for their initiative. Remember the parable in the Bible about the 3 men entrusted with different amounts of money and 2 of them invested and grew their money to return profit while 1 man buried his and saw no gain. That was capitalism at work. So, capitalism is good for the go-getter industrialist person but for the lazy, it brings hard times.
@@larryledwards8327 too bad true capitalism doesn't exist in America huh?
@@larryledwards8327 Capitalism is good for a small clique of profiteers, predators and exploiters and oppressors. It is a CURSE on the human race, and a threat to the existence of the planet
The black man and women are God
Elaine Brown was a whole lot man is sit a lot of them brothers up
Why must are community be plagued with colorism and misrepresentation? It's so exhausting... 🙄
Angela David had some beautiful hair.
I love this.
These are what I call real black women.
Thank you for helping me educate my primarily Caucasian school. The Black Panther Party is my final research project and am happy to say that I have created an unbiased piece of work to teach the subject. Many people, including the teachers, have never even thought about researching issues that the African American community had to deal with and still have to deal with today. Again, video was very helpful. Thank you
Did you tell them about the whippings from Elaine's book
Scott Galban - You people love to bitch and moan about supposed cop killings the Panthers did while simultaneously ignoring the decades of abuse, brutalization, and mistreatment by the police and government. How do you expect oppressed people to fight their oppression? Stupid fuck.
Please don't, it was BS
All 3 beautiful black woman
Elena Janine Durham aka JELLY. We All Love you JELLY!!!!!!! 😘😘😘😘😘😘
The narrator really said “adventure” like she was on a vacation or something.
No disrespect although I am very grateful for all the women who have worked and spend their lives bringing focus to "black issues", I am yet to see the true image of a real African black woman placed up there as a black heroine. The wonderful and courageous women mentioned in this clip are all either "light skinned" or appears to have some racial mixture and therefore; do not fully represent the image and likeness of an authentic black, African woman. To the white racist, we are all black however; within the black community there is a long history of lighter complexed women and racially mixed women, being allowed opportunities for leadership and visibility, that the black skinned woman is denied. To conceal this fact, mixed women are allowed to represent the entirety of African women, while the true African woman has to remain invisible and under represented. Angela Davis along with Ms Cleavers are great examples of what I am saying. Dark skinned sisters need to be truly represented, it is so needed.
Moe Mission Yes i agree with you, dark skinned beautiful women are left out, n i am a black native american women.
Moe Mission I'm taking nothing away from my fair skinned/racially ambiguous sistas, but I totally agree with you, hon✊🏾
Why get caught up in the trap of deciding who is "authentic" and who is not. Being dark skinned is authentic. Being light skinned is authentic. It just so happened than Kathleen Cleaver and Angela Davis are the most famous women and they happen to have light skin. Let's not get this twisted.
If we didn't lose all our news media to integration we could have told our own story! These men and women are the real black Panther's the movie is based on.
You are incorrect, and colonial in your mind-set. Each of these women represents authentic, Black African women. You've let your slave master tell you who black people are, and what "authentic" black people look like. Get off the plantation.
Angela Davis was not member Black Panther Party .
She was at first, then left due to male dominated thinking.
Angela left because she realized black men were fighting to have access to be with whites woman
❤
interesting
Within the Black Community these women were well known.
Lies. Don’t let these people fool you. Research!
I wouldn't say Davis was 'unsung'. She's an important figure in black feminist thought, even if she was not directly involved in the Black Panther Party.
You can't be a hero if you were a member of the black panther party and you somehow survived Edgar J. Hoover.
These men and women are the real black Panther the Black Panther movie is based on.
Some has since been corrupted.
I love the video! But when Angela Davis explains why she left the Black Panther Party, she has said it was because she wasn't permitted to be a member of another political party, and so she chose to stay with the Communist party. She was long a member of the Communist party, and her membership in that party was the reason she was kicked out of UCLA. I actually think Communism should be a viable political choice in this country, and feel that it hurts the party Angela held dear to omit it from the video. All around I appreciate the video and now I have two new leaders to research, but please lets not hide Angela's commitment to the worker's rights movement. Thanks!
Hey POPSUGAR Entertainment, you got a lot of the facts wrong! This is disrespectful, do better on your research!
I thought Kline was a CIA associate.
Would prefer it if black peoples write our own stories some very pronounced inaccuracies!!! Angela Davies for instance never actually joined the Panthers as a member although she was always very supportive of their work
Assata Shakur and Afeni Shakur
If you forgive anyone's sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven."
I don't hate. .
Real role models
So they predicted the Black Panther, now they predicted Harambe?
POWERFUL ASSATA SKAKUR AMAZING THANKS YOU GOODNESS 🌟❤️🖤💚🤎 FAMILY DAPHNE COTTON ALWAYS 💜,
Lmaoo yea okay after EVERYTHING let me sit down and let a chwhite woman teach me about my history ifyouwont🤫
Don't mind if white peoples do something for our benefit and are practising anti racism but this is so badly researched it's annoying
YHSH Visited Mary Magdalene First, because She sought HIM more. Do You think that YHSH would tell saul (paul) to tell MARY AND HIS MOTHER MARY TO KEEP QUET IN CHURCH?
Miss angela davis is the best black painter
Didn't Angela Davis say that she wasn't a feminist because of the conflicting ideas of white bourgeois feminism vs. intersectional feminism?
✌☮ to the God's and the one nation13 crew 🌐....
Kathleen doh 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Angela davis, the woman who bought the guns in the marin county shootout in 1970 with J. Jackson
How is Angela Davis unsung? Maybe to you.
i like how the black panther party women leaders are Mexicans.
I didn't know they were Mexican
@@eyobs.3056 Mexican = mixed 🤷🏿♂️
They were unsung heroes.. until they abandoned the people. Married, dated, slept with the enemy. Got in bed with The White Man. Smh.
Many of them stayed in white man's bed or left his bed polluted and bought back the white man's brain stain to our community. In other words, left his bed but kept his head.
Who slept with the enemy
Stop making up stuff. Furthermore, they were not unsung in their time. Everybody knew who Angela Davis, Kathleen Cleaver and Assata Shakur were.
The. Black. Panther. Party didnt originate in. Oakland
A Woman's Place is in the STRUGGLE!

The celebration of divide and conquer. You have a Caucasian woman narrating and celebrating the division between our people. If sistas don't see a problem with this I don't know what to say. Smh
Demekisa Davis The feminists are still running their control program.
getparadox Yes they are. We have to fight this war side by side. Otherwise it's a wrap.
Demekissa Davis i totally agree!!
There they go again trying to divide and conquer
All these women are cointelpro.
Wow. Wait this is it? Lies. I know their were more. I’m going to an 80s 90s party and want to be a black panther. I need more options, or I’ll pick Angela Davis. Please older black leaders.... Show me more.

Jesus Appears to the Disciples
…22When He had said this, He breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you withhold forgiveness from anyone, it is withheld.” 24Now Thomas called Didymus, one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came.…
.....WHY IS " BECKY?!" NARRATING THIS?🧐🤫🧐🤫🧐🤫🧐🤫🧐
Do you actually think a black person made this video? Check the agenda, yo.
Feminism had nothing to do with B.P.P , it was a intelligent strategy to look none threatening to outsiders .
Idol worship is lame.
Who is this White Woman Narrating this Propaganda? We have "Unsung" black women from across the country who were involved with the Black Movement of the 60's.....Gloria Richardson, Fannie Lou Hamer, Nina Simone, Asata and Alfeni Shakur just to name a few...
Godesses lionesses love em forever
First
These wombman got me questioning if im really “Black” not one yell “Black” to me ! It seems to yell “Biracial” or “Apart of black culture”
you do know that black ppl can come out light skinned, & have fully black parents , right ? you sound stupid.
@@angel-ls9dq yep you right... But did you know that black people can have kids with white people or any other race with the light pigment gene and creat light skin mixed baby's?

It's a racist channel and guarantee not one for the black ppl.

All biracial....
I cant stand Angela Davis.
& she can’t stand you.
Women...hahahahaha. Not.
What
Who is this cornball narrating? We need someone more qualified to give the full story. You can't sum up these women's contributions in less than 3 minutes.
Robbing banks and murdering cops is very noble as well as playing the eternal victim. Hero's indeed.
B.S.
Those are MEN dressed as WOMEN.
