  • Join Graeme and Wayne as they experience some unreal fishing from a tiny boat out on the ocean. They catch big eels, spurdogs and bullhuss. Graeme hooks into a monster spurdog (small shark looking species) which is close to the british record size. As usual the boys talk through rigs, tips and tactics for the day to help you guys catch more fish when you are small boat fishing!

You have done so much for the sport and taught so many people to love fishing of all sorts. I've always appreciated your no nonsense (well there's always a bit, but I blame Smith for that!) and no promotional filler style of film making. You've entirely earned each and every subscriber through years of quality, enthusiastic, informative and utterly bonkers uploads which have been watched and re-watched time and time again. Thank you and here's to that next 25 years you mentioned whilst you were showing off that magnificent spurdog. All the very best and keep on going!

Thanks for the comment..There was a second when I could have reached over and grabbed that giant Spurdog by the pectoral and dragged him aboard(could have been a British record !)...but I have been hit by a big Stingray in the foot that I boated in Florida so the thought of a hospital visit(or worse) suddenly popped into my mind...and I hesitated...it is after all, just a fish..and I remember the pain of the Stingray hit !!

Congrats on the 200K subscribers Graeme, well deserved. Back in the 60s I spend a day off Newhaven on the spurdogs. The guy next to me dropped one into the boat and the spur went into the side of my leg just above my knee. I couldn't bend my knee for two weeks.

Hi Graeme and Wayne. That Beneteau didn’t like you passing him! I used to catch a lot of Spurdog out of Shoreham in the late 70’s but nothing of that size. It was nice to see Wayne using Penn fixed spool reels, they are such a nice reel and so tough. The days of multipliers are nearly done, apart from the big game fish like Black Marlin and swordfish! That is an impressive boat with that big Suzuki on the back. Really great video on a perfect day. Regards Bill

No poison in the spur just bloody painful, i'm very sad to say we slaughtered tons of them in the 90's and early 2000's when long lining in the Irish sea, very glad to see they are coming back in great numbers since a ban was introduced in 2008. Very slow growing sharks who have a long gestation period who give birth to live pups.

    • @TAFishing

Always best to wear a kill switch cord. I personally have never been on a boat that I saw one used (other than a powerboat I was filming on that clocked 70mph outside Key West harbour, and I was strapped in vertically on that one). There never seemed much difference between 50mph and 70 mph..it was just when we passed marker posts that it seemed frightening.
