      I want to make in this in a multi color pattern...How many balls did you use for the body? And how many for the arms? I know the total for a medium is roughly 8 balls. So how were those divided? Roughly?...

    I'm 70. I think I wore something like this in high school. It's lovely to see something that was so shapeless back then be in style. Sure takes the pressure off worrying about body types.

    Omgosh I absolutely love it!!! I have to try this one. I'm more of a beginner, well maybe an advanced beginner. I've only made a few items in knit, mostly because I'm a perfectionist and have ripped apart many items lol. I'm an avid crocheted and have been for years. This past year I learned to knit and have a love hate relationship with it lol, I want to know it all, right now hahaha. Anyway, I'm in Canada and we have alot of cool weather so this will be great. I like how the mock neck isn't tight to the neck and the shoulder detail is so pretty. The color you choose is beautiful! The only thing for me is I can't wear wool, and recently I quite using pure acrylic ... cotton, milk cotton, bamboo is my go to. Eeek, this comment is getting too long ;) Anyway, I'll definitely we giving this one a try and btw I've only just stumbled on your channel, Canadian hugs, Sunshine

    Such a cute jumper! To try on garments I usually use these plastic wires that I thread onto the needle itself and just drag the whole project on the wire. It is super simple and takes no time. Not sure what they’re called in English (mask wire, knit wire, something like that?), but they are brilliant and absolutely worth the money! They save me so much time and it’s easier to try on the garment multiple times during the process.

    • @CazSantiago

I think I'd rather polish up my skills and help you test knit something in the future.

    I purchased the pattern and made a size Medium. This is the first sweater I've made and it was great for a more advanced beginner. I have a long torso and arms, so I made those parts of the sweater longer than the pattern suggested. Additionally, the arm holes seemed a little small to me and I was worried about it being tight, so I made them larger, picking up 60 stitches instead of 48. Because my sleeves were wider, I also did my decreases more gradually over 6 rounds at the end of the sleeves. With the extra length for my height and additional stitches in the sleeves, I still only needed 700g of yarn (rather than the 800g suggested in the pattern for size M).
    As a minor critique, the pattern was a little confusing when it came to splitting the raglan stitches for the body panels. In the video, the raglan stitches on each side were divided so that one is on the front, and one is on the back panel. However, the written instructions had one side put both stitches on either the front or back. This threw me for a doozy, but I figured it out :)
    Thank you so much for sharing! I'm thrilled with how it came out. I really love the style of the balloon sleeves. It looks like something I could've purchased in a clothing boutique.

She says in the pattern to knit form SM1 (beginning of the row) to SM2 et SM3 and take those off, but the beginning of the row is in the middle of the front or back pannel? so should I knit or just pass my needles to the SM2? cause if I knit, won't I have like half a row knitted? maybe it'll make sense when I do it, but at the moment, it's all unclear in my head haha. This is gorgeous! And I loved seeing how happy and satisfied you are with your project, really made my day! I would totally apply to test knit but I have some deadlines already, I definitely will apply for the next time because I love your patterns :) Oh and quick question, would you advise doing a provisional cast on for the neckline, or does picking up the regular cast on stitches from the neckline make for a sturdier edge?

    • @minnie2410
      @minnie2410 2 роки тому

      I’ve tried both methods and knitting the cast-on loop together with the live stitch does make for a sturdier edge that also lies differently against the line of the neck. I’d recommend this method over PCO, but in the end both work just fine and you should pick the one that you like the look of more, I think :)

    Hello! I was gifted some yarn for Christmas, and purchased the pattern for this sweater on your etsy! However, the yarn is a much lighter weight. After doing a test swatch and blocking, however, the new gauge is EXACTLY double in row/stitch count (10cm/24 stitches and 10cm/30 rows). My question is, would the raglan and increase stitches ALSO be doubled? I think so, but this is my first sweater, so I'm second guessing myself, haha.

    • @CazSantiago
      @CazSantiago 10 місяців тому

      This really depends...if you know how to knit using the magic loop method when knitting in the round, you can use a 40" circular needle. Depending on your measurements, you can use a 24" or 32 " circular needles and all of your stitches should fit easily around your needles. Better to have a smaller circumference and have your stitches move around easily than a bigger one where you will have to shimmy your stitches along. Hope this helps!

    I would like to sign up for a tester, but imo it’s really important to have measurements when you are making size-inclusive patterns! My bust is 55in (depending on the bra) so that’s sometimes a 3x, sometimes a 4x, sometimes a 5x depending on the amount of ease and the designer.

    a total neophyte to knitting, and have yet to even jump in -- despite loving the podcast Fruity Knitting, !! and from there, having UA-cam today show me your video. t took me a few listens to figure out you were saying Li-ka, and not Mi-ka. and found them on amazon- named Lykke, of course. I notice a few reviews saying they snag at the joining point, which would be a terrible experience and wonder if maybe buying through Amazon is getting people copycat versions? Do you have any further thoughts or guidance on this? I am a visual artist and very much a lover of good tools, and the qualities of wood, say, and these needles LOOK and read as beautiful to me. I was never drawn to the standard knitting needles, and actually found them off-putting. Your collar here is very appealing. And it encourages me to take a leap. But first, the tools...would you mind sharing what you have?

    Hi! I bought your seamless mock neck sweater pattern and I have some questions. I am a beginner knitter, I have only knitted few socks, headbands and stuff and this project would be my first sweater.
    First issue I have is the gauge - seems like I need bigger needles than 8mm (sadly have to buy those, the set I've got ends with 8mm :( ) so I wonder - does that mean that I should go one size up even with the smaller needles you used for the neck?
    And another question, I haven't found it in the pattern but how long should the cable be?
    Anyways, love how the sweater looks! And to be honest, I think that the blue goes stunningly with your hair. Maybe you'll get used to the color and wear it :) have a happy new year!

    I have bought the pattern but I still have problem with knowing how to make the round shape collar. Is there a video for that?

    And another question , for joining in the round, what length should the needel and the cord have? I should cast on for the size M.

    This is so beautiful! I have a bunch of this yarn already and curious if i have enough to knit this! How many balls approx did you use? If i have enough I'll look into purchasing your pattern:) (Challenging myself to use up the boxes of yarn i have before buying more haha)

    I live in Arizona and would love to knit this in a lighter weight yarn than shown. Is it possible to adjust the pattern to accommodate lighter weight yarn?
