  • The Switch Barrel System allows you to switch between a Standard and a Magnum Calibre on a single rifle in a matter of minutes.
    As you may already know, the Schultz & Larsen Rifles feature a stunning switch barrel system which allows you to remove a barrel from your rifle and fit a different barrel. This is very useful for many reasons, including changing barrels between different calibres, replacing a barrel which has been extensively used and shot out, and also great for travelling to be able to compact the rifle down into a smaller case.
    In this video we look at switching between calibre groups. We start by changing a .270 Win. barrel to a .308 Win. barrel. Now as these are in different standard calibre groups, the magazines need to be changed as well as the barrel. So you switch out the Long magazine for the .270 Win., to a Short magazine for the .308 Win. It's as simple as that.
    But when changing the calibre groups from a Standard Calibre to a Magnum Calibre, you also have to change the Bolt from a Standard Bolt to a Magnum Bolt. As well as the Magnum Magazine and the Magnum Barrel. We demonstrate this in the video by switching between a .308 Win., to a .300 Win. Mag. barrel.
    Such a versatile rifle and a great feature to have for such an accurate rifle too. For more information about available calibres and groups, visit our website: greatdanerifles...

    Of course, the telescope will have to be re-zeroed for each change of barrel. I also think that these screws are very small to take the pounding of magnum cartridges. Toutefois, the rifle is some handsome!

      It really is one of the nicest rifles with the smoothest bolt action out there. Thanks for the comment.

    I tight the forendscrew in all of my rifle's first . This screw tightens the bedding. Had some issues with accuracy if I don't think about that.

    I found a quick way round this.
    Bought three Victories in 22-250, .243 & .270 :-))
    I'll probably just go for bolt, barrel & magazine in .375 Ruger for when (if) I can take my postponed hunting trip to South Africa.

      That's one way to do it! :)
      Hope your SA trip gets sorted. It's a massive shame so much has been cancelled and postponed this year.

      Nice one! I am thinking about a 7x57 - had a go if one on stags up north last week, much smoother to shoot than my 308.

    Is it possible to use a 375 ruger or 458 win mag barrel inn the classic when using apropriate magasine and bolt ? Or are any further mods needed ?

    Alan, thanks for the informative film. Can you tell me if it possible to fit a synthetic stock on a Victory. I am considering buying a Victory but would like to save the wood stock for ‘high days and holidays’ and use the synthetic when crawling about in the mud, rocks and peat. Thanks Andrew

      Hi Andrew, there is in fact a new synthetic Victory stock being produced and we're hoping to see it before the end of the year. Fingers crossed!
      As an alternative, it is possible to fit a S&L Classic Synthetic Stock to your Victory action, but you would need to contact your gun dealer for any ordering as we don't supply rifles/stocks direct. If you enquire with them as to what you're looking for, we can provide them with all the information and prices. I hope this helps.

    i have a 30.06 schultz, do i need to buy a new magazine if i get a .308 barrel?

    • @alanrhonemedia
      @alanrhonemedia  Рік тому +1

      Hi, yes the .30-06 uses a Long Magazine and the .308 uses a Short Magazine.
      The bolt will be the same as they're both standard calibres. But the other thing to check is the barrel diameter of the new barrel. If this is considerably wider than your existing barrel, you may have to widen the barrel channel in the stock. For instance if your .30-06 barrel is a 15mm diameter barrel profile and the .308 is a 19mm diameter profile.

    Can you show how to adjust the triggerweight please.

      @alanrhonemedia  3 роки тому +2

      Hi, this is one we're working on at the moment. As it's an adjustment which can be very dangerous if set incorrectly, we'd like to cover it properly and give full instructions.
