Can you please tell me the difference between the classic and the victory action/barrel. I really like the look of the classic in the synthetic stock due to the woodland stalking I do however l am not sure what if anything the victory has extra owner the classic. Thanks.
Hi, the Classic and the Victory both use the same barrels. So in theory you can switch barrels between a Classic and a Victory model without any issues whatsoever. There is a difference in the actions. The Victory is a more refined look with smoother edges and a more polished look as opposed to the Classic, having sharper lines. The bolt is slightly different too, the Victory has a swept back design in keeping with the overall finish, whereas the Classic bolt handle is dovetailed into the body and has a straighter appearance. The stocks on the Victory Walnut and the Classic Synthetic are very similar. A Monte Carlo stock with a cheek piece.
Hi Thank you for your swift reply. This has given me a lot to think about. I understand the Victory is bedded however can l ask what bedding system is used on the classic synthetic as l cannot find anything about it.
@@lapua243 The walnut stocks are all bedded, but the Synthetic stocks don't need to be as they're formed perfectly for the action and the high fibreglass content in the stock makes them incredibly strong. I hope this helps.
alanrhone media. Hi thank you again for your reply. I can now limit my choices between these two rifles from Schultz and Larsen. Some of my friends have them but in target rifle form and l know how well they shoot. Some serious thinking ahead. Regards
Hi, I think I know the answer, but just to make sure... I have a Classic Synthetic in Winchester 243, and a Victory (lovely wood) in Winchester 308. Can I use the 308 barrel in the Classic, with the Classic Bolt if for instance it was pouring with rain? And likewise put the 243 barrel on my Victory, with the victory bolt?
Hi Mike, Yes the Classic and Victory can interchange barrels. The rifles have been designed so that the Classic and Victory bolts will fit in and lock into the barrels. Plus the Classic and Victory actions both accept the same barrels too. The only thing to change if it comes to it would be changing the bolt from Standard to Magnum (but .243 and .308 both use the Standard bolt) and the Magazine from Short, Long, Magnum or Short Magnum (but both .243 and .308 use the Short Magazine). So you don't need anything additionally to make the switch. I hope this helps.
Can't see the lug in receiver.
Excellent design and explanation.
Is there an adjustable cheek piece model
Hi John, currently no. But this could change due to the massive popularity we've seen for the Classic Synthetic.
Where is no video on youtube about the Legacy model review
