This pattern uses a Collecting knot. I've never seen anyone create a similar pattern using this knot. So I think this pattern is my idea :) If you use it in your Macrame projects / Tutorials please provide a reference to the Macrame School. Thank you !!! Don't get me wrong, I just see people brutally copying my instructions and selling them on Etsy as tutorials or creating the same video tutorials as mine on UA-cam. They can transform my ideas instead of copying them exactly!

Warning to anybody who would like to create this basked: if you cut 140 cm cords only, especially in the middle part of the project you will end up with super short cords and can start the project all over. I wasted a lot of cords because of the wrong measures and I am an experienced macrame creator plus I tried this project with close-knit (as opposed to loose) knots - still ran out of cords. So in order for you not to fall into the trap to waste a huge amount of cords, I suggest, with the same 5 mm braided cord, you should cut at least 200 cm instead of 140 cm - 27 cords and the leading cord could be 250 cm. Better safe than wasting your money and cords. And I suggest the creator of this video to update the measures.

THANK YOU I don’t know if I just have the wrong sized cord (it wasn’t ones I ordered so I wasn’t too sure as to what mm cord it was) but I always end up with super short cords at the end of projects!
I do agree with earlier comments that the cords should be longer. They are incredibly short at the end

This is complicated and would take time for a beginner so cute baskets i luv them i want to make it but i know it will take some time ive just started macrame and im loving it i have got hang of most the knotts on my first day so proude. After seeing this basket im thinking of doing one luv the video
I'd love to better understand which cords you skip at the end, and when you bring them back in.
Lovely basket and work but found the end of this tutorial virtually impossible to follow. Maybe as ‘Macrame School’ maybe one form of verbal instruction might be helpful to us beginners.

I made it all the way to the end and got lost in the bottom. I am just gonna do a spiral instead. Maybe instead of music do verbal explanation on the bottom for beginners.
I’m struggling with the last bit too. Could you perhaps give some more guidance? I love this item, I sadly can’t seem to finish the last bit! 😢

The pattern is gorgeous! I woul like to make a large pot for a plant, but I cannot figure out how long my cords should be... I have been folowing you since years, and you are wonderful! What size cord is this?
I wish I read the comments before starting this project. At 6:10, the video cuts from joining 9 rows before the finishing row of square knots to 7 rows. Based on the thumbnail picture and remaining cord, seems like it should be 7 rows high. This issue could be resolved by adding the row count to the video description. Update: abandoned the project at the basket bottom step. Choice of cords to skip was too random without written instructions.
Agreed! I had a really hard time finishing the bottom of this because the instructions weren't clear on which cords to skip and when to bring them back in. Also, I didn't catch the 9-7 row difference so I had 9 rows and then I was short of cord to finish the bottom. Ended-up with a big hole in the middle of the bottom because I had no cords left.

I am finding it hard to discern what sort of knot she is tying around the 3 minute mark as her hands cover it partially and she moves quickly. Does anyone have a link to a video that has the same knot slowed down? Thanks!

I love this Basket; it is very unique compared to others out there. thank you so much for sharing with us! I am frustrated with my basket... these measurements didn't seem to work out for my project and I was very short on cord. I couldn't complete the basket! ): I will have to try again by adjusting the measurements. I would say double to length for all cords.
I'm stuck on the 2nd row already! Where do you start? From the video it doesn't look like it's at one end
Thanks for sharing. It would be very helpful though if the number of rows are mentioned. As in the 1st completion it’s 9 rows but when it’s turned there are 7 rows. Also I seem to have 2 strands extra at the end of square knots and the width is 22cm(tight)

Hey, this is amazing! I am trying to make it right now but i'm having a hard time understanding how to transition from 04:45 to 04:47. I've done all the way up to 04:45. Sorry this is my first time making something like this.
she's only showing part of the process, to make it fast. you're suppossed to continue each row from one side all the way to the end, starting and ending each row one thread less. I'm right handed, so I work left to right. regardless of which is your strong hand, you might find it easier to start from the right to the left. either way, start each row one thread less then the previous, and end it one thread sooner. you start with 52 threads in the first row. then work only 50 threads on the second row, 48 on the third and so on' for 10 rows.

How do we make handles?
Hoping for an answer or another tutorial
OMG. I really liked the piece, but mine came out a disaster. It was all well up until the double half hitch knots. The first line was easy to follow, but then it became sort of random which ones to skip. By the end, when I cut the loose ends, many simply were loose, coming out the other way. Any idea what I did wrong? Anyone?

Well, I would like to start off saying that this is a great tutorial (mostly). However, something went very wrong for me. I couldn't finish the basket because I ran out of cord to work with for the base. Perhaps clearer instructions for how many rows to complete before the square knotts start (if that makes sense). I'm pretty sure that's where I went wrong. I dunno... I measured the lengths at the start to what was directed, so I'm unsure what else it could be.

Coming from some one who has a lot of difficulty following stuff like this and has never knitted and only dabbled in crotchet this was a breeze for me! I halved the size of the basket cause I wanted a smaller one and I finished it over the course of about three days (probably 5 or 6 hours in total) Trust me if I can do this I have al the faith in the world that you can too

On minute 6:55 I complete the row for the square nots but I end up with 2 ropes alone so I cannot end that whole round of square at the bottom
Am I the only one having problems? How do you connect the triangles, or did she just show how to do it in miniature? Evidently, I'm not smart enough to follow these instructions. Now, I'm trying to figure out a way to save this project. These knots are not coming out. So frustrating!

So if you cut the ends, it gets loose.. you didn't show what you did after cutting but I suppose you either glued it or burned it to secure it
