Hey man, I was just looking at the calc'ed example you gave, and something just doesn't quite sit right with me on it. Whenever you calculated the multiplier with a 163% Crit Damage Bonus and 500% Increased Damage Bonus, you stated that you had a 9.78 Multiplier of base damage on Crit based on (1.63 * 6 = 9.78). My only issue with this is that if you use this same process for base values: +100% Crit Damage or 2x Multiplier | 0% Increased Critical Damage Bonus or a 1x Multiplier | Results in 1.0 * 1x = 1x Multiplier of Base Damage on Crit This calculation says that you do the exact same damage on crit that you would be doing on a non-crit. Unless the intended statement was supposed to be 978% Increased Damage on Crit (or a 10.78x), that makes more sense. I may just be misunderstanding it entirely, so feel free to correct me on anything btw. I haven't done any testing to validate any values on this, it was just the math example itself that had me questioning what made sense.
What are your thoughts on HOWA for flat and then going all in on crit damage with something like Death's Harp, which can give 85% + 12% + 12% = 109% Also, how criminally undervalued Powertreads? Powertreads that give up to +14% critical damage bonus per power charge, so +64% critical damage bonus with no other investment in maximum power charges since they give +1, or if you grab the +4 power charges on the tree and +1 helmet enchant you can achieve 9 power charges which gives +126% critical damage bonus. Honorable mention to crown of thorns (pain attunement = 30% MORE critical damage bonus while on low life), since low life is kind of awkward to achieve in POE2 so far (Infernalist only, basically).
ggg confirmed on forums that powertreads are bugged/written wrong they give increased crit bonus, not base crit bonus hopefully they fix the wording soon.. deaths harp is far too low base dmg to compete with a naatural bow(by design) howa helps with flat dmg, but doesnt scale that well because its not scaled by the bow itself outside attack speed phys is the base flat dmg on bows, you then have flat phys prefix which is multiplied by increased phys % prefix and hybrid phys.% prefix and that is then multiplied by 20% more phys from quality and all of that is then multiplied by attack speed/aps. It is also hard to come by inc dmg % sources on a full crit build tree wise so you kind of need proj speed+bow dmg on quiver prefix, meaning you cant get multi flat sources there. Breach ring + ingenuity would help some, but would still suffer from the lack of multiplicative scaling that phys prefixes would give to simply having added flat phys / you also probably want flat cold either on quiver or ring for HoI/freezing sake. the howa is still probably bis--- but alone with deaths harp would be underwhelming. It might be a good starting place though if working your way up-- encourage you to check out pob and test it cheers!
indeed. Some ppl claming a non-crit based bow is in any way shape or form competitive must be joking. Meanwhile they get +5 on their bow and have to solve a gigantic mana issue lol
It's funny, a lot of people had figured it out already but now the discord junkies who can't do some basic maths are jumping on deck since they have PoB to lean on 😂
It's actually a lot less complicated than he made it seem. Crit multi on weapons is a more multiplier to the rest of your crit multi, or in other words, it is multiplicative rather than additive with other sources of crit multi, which makes it very strong.
its crazy how many people still put phys runes on EVERYTHING just because they wanna see 600+ phys dps. making divs off phys runed up quarterstaffs is just nuts rn.
to fix the determinism in crafting but keep the rng they should add 2 omens one allows you to lock a prefix while orbing one allows you to lock a suffix while orbing.
So after watching this I looked through my stash to see what bows I saved, and I have A bow with "Fires additional arrow, 1.6 extra crit chance, extra phys damage, 10% extra attack speed, and 4.5% life leach" and it's not corrupted, and I can add sockets. Is this good? Lol
nice. I was going back and forth with someone about this earlier. had no idea the bonus on weapon is essentially local now. I guess they should put base crit bonus at the top of the weapon then, with the other local/base stats.
i caught on to this pretty early and has been able to stack 800% crit damage relatively cheap on my deadeye build t4 arbiter is a joke with that amount of damage
i just found out today that there actually is an enchant you can get through vaaling rings that can give increased critical damage bonus as well. too bad its like impossible to get reliably but i did hit it today on a ring it was an 18% bonus which is pretty wild as it also gets boosted with ingenuity
i noticed that when i was playing the second week , if you see the mod on the weapon it says "to" same as crit chance which meant it goes to the base value honestly i thought its known thing but i guess i was wrong , gg bow though keep up the good work

Nothing to do with people not knowing. I think people knows, the issue is those bows cost 50 Div to buy .... So the majority of people prefer to play a "non crit build" as it's way more cheaper and accessible and strong enough to clear maps & boss (also non affected by modifier like "reduce crit chance" on waystones )
17:47 i have the same ring but slightly lower number of modifiers i didn't know it is price like that . I priced it 1 div and bo ones buying . Now im keeping it
Even as someone who didn’t believe in crit in the beginning, transitioning to full critical requires hitting such discreet values, not to mention adorned and crit magic jewels being insanely expensive. Personally would rather see a gradual and tangible increase in damage with the current meta-build. But this news is insane thank you Belton
not necessarily. something like 25% crit chance is very doable and impactful to overall damage. many builds overdo it with additive increases to damage for elements/weapons/projectile etc and simply moving some of that into a decent crit chance will have an overall larger impact on dps.
May I ask why you are calling the top tiers tier 1? I know this was how it was done in POE 1, but they changed this on POE 2. Why not call it what it is?
umm...isn't plus 5% adding 5% of the YOUR chance to crit. Meaning that +5% chance to crit brings you to 5.25% chance to crit? Or is it +5% More, meaning it adds a flat 5% bringing you to 10%?
Is local. Its a Flat 5% chance added to the bow's Base critical chance, bringing you to 10% Base crit. You then multiply the new 10% base with all of the "%increased crit chance" you have on the tree.
gosh my brain hurts, it felt like I was listening to a Dune Mentat talking to me in quantum language ughh so fkin interesting but I got soooo very little of it all except he seems to be on something I need to definitely understand :P But im only lvl 78 trying to clear my T8 maps I think, fml :P Tk u for the info !
Dear Belton, please hit the +2 arrows and I will be your first costumer for a mirror service. Sadly the +2 arrows is not really replacable (at least for a vast majority of bow builds). +5 skills is also a gigantic bait since scaling with attack skills is still not anywhere close to spells and increases mana cost to such hillarious heights that it creates more issues than it solves. Finally, IAS is the odd man out here in favour of +2 arrows.
you wrong. You don't need so many arrows. It is because you hit boss only with 1 arrow - even if you fire 6. So what you are looking for is max single target damage.
@@steven3825 boss is melted by cast on shock, crit or freeze. So... Nope. I'm taking full CRIT DMG and chance over anything else. I'm putting lightning orb, rods and start blasting with lightning Arrow. But from my experience huge dmg comes with shock or crit. Not with rods only.

Honestly crit is ultra shit compared to the level stacking basic attack build. But i understand that this is just advertisement for the unpopular rolls you got
Crit damage is more damage but your looking at extreme overkill for most content attack speed has far less overkill issues as it spreads the damage out more and makes mapping much smoother
awesome. now these bows are even more expensive. this has been known in the smaller community since relase. my crit bow LA deadeye is hiting 340k. the reason this hasnt hit main stream yet is because people like bowbowbow isnt famous. and fubgun is.
Man, crafting is to much for me, this system seems to have a high learning curve and not viable for a full build to min max. At least in my perspective as someone who doesnt understand crafting
I feel like a good general wording rule to follow with maybe few exceptions is if you see "increased" on the mod, it is scaling. If you see "+ (insert number) to (insert stat)" it is added to the base value (flat damage is slightly different but similar wording with 'adds # blank damage').
The POB analysis is not entirely correct, because you assume you have 100% crit chance, with more realistic crit chance, (lets assume 50%) the crit multi on a weapon is 50% less effective meaning its much more comparable to attack speed modifier.
If you go with ambush support e.g it doubles your base crit. With 5m dmg on a clear skil (multiply it for each arrow you have) anything including map bosses just rolls over and dies. Meaning crit beyond 50% is less valuable. But in essence you are correct.
Its easy enough to throw an Eye of Winter at the boss for +10% base crit, effectively doubling your total critical chance. If you're lazy, put it into a Trigger setup, though youll drain your mana fast. Ambush for clearing, Eye of winter for bossing. East 80%+ Critical chance
You should make a course on poe2 crafting for income. Charge like $50 one time, or $20/month if you plan on continuously updating it. It helps people new to the series like me to see your current crafts and theories, and it would help us even more to have a little hand holding for transitioning between amateur who just finished t15 quests to veteran making 100 div mirror items. The reason I say charge for it is it allows you to go into even finer details without overcrowding the game's crafting community, and also rewards you for the effort you put into it. Some will say you sold out and unsubscribe, but they will be the minority and screw them anyway if you make a product that is worth what you charge for it. I, for one, am not interested in RMT, but I don't mind paying real money for a slight leg up knowledge wise.
likely the case for most/many lightning based skills because of lightning rod. it is similar for spark. cold has the highest base crit of any damage type, so monks/stave users would naturally migrate there first (and lightning rod, which makes non-crits lucky would not be a factor)
Correction/edit with the calculation:
100 damage bonus being increased by 500% increased damage bonus would be 100x6= 600% total damage bonus which = 7x multiplier
163 damage bonus being increased by 500% increased damage bonus would be 163x6=978% total damage bonus which = 10.78x multiplier
Having the 39% crit damage bonus suffix on the bow + the 24% crit damage bonus in the 2 runes, therefore, would increase an attack hit of 100 to 1078 vs 700 without having that suffix/2 runes--- a total dps increase of 54% more damage (assuming 500% increased crit bonus and 100% crit chance)
No.
If you go crit you have 300+ crit bonus. 300 versus 339 is negligible.

+100% Crit Damage or 2x Multiplier | 0% Increased Critical Damage Bonus or a 1x Multiplier | Results in 1.0 * 1x = 1x Multiplier of Base Damage on Crit
This calculation says that you do the exact same damage on crit that you would be doing on a non-crit.
My brain reverted to poe 1 multi when explaining in the video on the fly, updated correct numbers in the pinned comment. ty!
Dayum. Got me hyped about all this. Thanks Belton!
What are your thoughts on HOWA for flat and then going all in on crit damage with something like Death's Harp, which can give 85% + 12% + 12% = 109%
Also, how criminally undervalued Powertreads? Powertreads that give up to +14% critical damage bonus per power charge, so +64% critical damage bonus with no other investment in maximum power charges since they give +1, or if you grab the +4 power charges on the tree and +1 helmet enchant you can achieve 9 power charges which gives +126% critical damage bonus.
Honorable mention to crown of thorns (pain attunement = 30% MORE critical damage bonus while on low life), since low life is kind of awkward to achieve in POE2 so far (Infernalist only, basically).
ggg confirmed on forums that powertreads are bugged/written wrong
they give increased crit bonus, not base crit bonus
hopefully they fix the wording soon..
deaths harp is far too low base dmg to compete with a naatural bow(by design)
howa helps with flat dmg, but doesnt scale that well because its not scaled by the bow itself outside attack speed
phys is the base flat dmg on bows, you then have flat phys prefix which is multiplied by increased phys % prefix and hybrid phys.% prefix and that is then multiplied by 20% more phys from quality and all of that is then multiplied by attack speed/aps.
It might be a good starting place though if working your way up-- encourage you to check out pob and test it
cheers!
Yes crit scaling is huge and that's why everyone going crit attack builds WITHOUT a weapon focused on that base crit damage, is probably trolling.
indeed. Some ppl claming a non-crit based bow is in any way shape or form competitive must be joking. Meanwhile they get +5 on their bow and have to solve a gigantic mana issue lol
It's funny, a lot of people had figured it out already but now the discord junkies who can't do some basic maths are jumping on deck since they have PoB to lean on 😂
Is it possible to find real ilvls per affix for a certain weapon?
CoE's seems to be incorrect on some mods.
The Nerd is Strong in this 1!!! I got so lost just a couple of his words into explaining.
Its cuz this game requires a Brian unlike d4 . U might wanna try that one
It's actually a lot less complicated than he made it seem. Crit multi on weapons is a more multiplier to the rest of your crit multi, or in other words, it is multiplicative rather than additive with other sources of crit multi, which makes it very strong.
@hdgdhnxbdx1619 and the day you can follow his teachings and make a mirror craft ill take your advice lol
NEW LOATH THUNDER INCOMIN......... LETS GO Belton
its crazy how many people still put phys runes on EVERYTHING just because they wanna see 600+ phys dps. making divs off phys runed up quarterstaffs is just nuts rn.
to fix the determinism in crafting but keep the rng they should add 2 omens one allows you to lock a prefix while orbing one allows you to lock a suffix while orbing.
I guess they should put base crit bonus at the top of the weapon then, with the other local/base stats.
i caught on to this pretty early and has been able to stack 800% crit damage relatively cheap on my deadeye build
t4 arbiter is a joke with that amount of damage
Damn... didn't think was news
i just found out today that there actually is an enchant you can get through vaaling rings that can give increased critical damage bonus as well.
too bad its like impossible to get reliably but i did hit it today on a ring it was an 18% bonus which is pretty wild as it also gets boosted with ingenuity
i noticed that when i was playing the second week , if you see the mod on the weapon it says "to" same as crit chance which meant it goes to the base value honestly i thought its known thing but i guess i was wrong , gg bow though keep up the good work
my man's the king of yap
Crit crit crit! Saying it since weeks, also did a 4m PoB with non optimized gear. Completely blows any non-crit build out of the water and it is not even close.
Meanwhile 0 crit gemlings with 20m dps
@@dsb_training That is a very conservative calculation with LA on a single arrow on one of the best clear skills in the game, feel free to multiply by 5 (arrows).
Single target (vs your gemling 20m dps) is in the hundreds of millions, but that is obviously not needed now. Weird comparison.
All that while maintaining 60% evasion with Acrobatics, 3500es before Grim Feast and 2400 life. As tanky as it gets for a Ranger.
The moment Spark Archmage Mana stacking is nerfed (which will obviously happen) this is far any beyond the strongest build left.
@@l.a.w.5738you say non optimized gear but I’ve sunk probably 70-80 div into my build and I am far from these stats lol
@@zefuinejuce Optimized = full mirror gear. Non-optimized, 10-20% below that, still several hundreds worth of div....70d is like a decent starter build at this stage of the EA. No offense man.
Non taken. We have different definitions of non-optimized. I’ll get back to farming now and hopefully update my definition very soon!
Please do a video on what you are saying about identifying ilvl logic
What I don’t get is how or why are omens so scarce. I’ve been running rituals minimum lvl 80 with 8/8 atlas on rituals and the craft ones seem non existing. Am I missing something? Do I need to always run lvl81 or 82 maps?
wait how much for the bow

not sure if u should have said 6x2=12 and than 6x2.63=15,78 ...
Hey PoE2, Noob here! I love your videos. I'm trying to craft myself, but I'm not very good at it so far. ^^
Hello I’m seeking help with crafting. I just paid 16d for an amulet and don’t want to ruine it because I don’t know what I’m doing. What is the best way for me to reroll my +1 to spell skills to try and hit +3?
@BeltonPoE
Hi, what is the best ring for ignite titan with hotg?
TLDR;
Hey, I accidentally rolled unpopular mods on a bow and in the next 30 mins i'm gonna explain to you why it is so OP to have both crits related mods and sell you mirror service
What I thought as well ye
Nothing to do with people not knowing. I think people knows, the issue is those bows cost 50 Div to buy .... So the majority of people prefer to play a "non crit build" as it's way more cheaper and accessible and strong enough to clear maps & boss (also non affected by modifier like "reduce crit chance" on waystones )
Only people not doing crit were probably warriors running no crit for 100% hit chance
This is how it looks like to have a PhD in PoE! Great thesis sir! Well done!
wait till they change how Deadeyes called shots work. imagine 2 snipers marks with 100% mark effect.
Is crit magic jewels sapphire or green o.o im trying to keep up with adorned market but been failing
I play crit and adorned isn’t needed. Just that the crit chance n crit damage in the bow is very important.
not necessarily. something like 25% crit chance is very doable and impactful to overall damage. many builds overdo it with additive increases to damage for elements/weapons/projectile etc and simply moving some of that into a decent crit chance will have an overall larger impact on dps.
cheap crit builds were already better
how would this interact with Maligaro's Virtuosity Fine Bracers?
There is a Chinese dude who’s been making videos about this. Everyone on his comments said he was stupid lol
Crit good yup yup
May I ask why you are calling the top tiers tier 1? I know this was how it was done in POE 1, but they changed this on POE 2. Why not call it what it is?
Can’t wait for the Vaal 🤣
Does this work for wands as well?
umm...isn't plus 5% adding 5% of the YOUR chance to crit.
I'm playing crit ice shot, been looking for a bow like that. To bad I have a job and will never have a mirror lol😂
wait for the crafting bench haha
no link to your shop anywhere
gosh my brain hurts, it felt like I was listening to a Dune Mentat talking to me in quantum language ughh so fkin interesting but I got soooo very little of it all except he seems to be on something I need to definitely understand :P
But im only lvl 78 trying to clear my T8 maps I think, fml :P Tk u for the info !
I saw some people talking about dropping the hydrid accuracy modifier to try Elemental Damage Attacks 100%, any thoughts on that?
probably pure phys is more universal and adds bleed/poison/chaos into equation, but yeah 100+ ele is the way on most of skills
@@vayha79 thats not always correct. Most people are bossing with Lightning Rod. Having the extra arrows is huge for boss DPS as they can all shotgun.
Crit team from day 1 🔥
Where is the PoB ?
Like literally since day one
Really useful info, but also the longest explanation I've ever seen of "hey you know how there's +X to maximum life and X% increased maximum life? Crit damage bonus works the same way". 😅
im new to arpg, does this guy actually play the game? not even in a rude way. like genuinely does he play the game or just trade and craft? lol
Honestly crit is ultra shit compared to the level stacking basic attack build. But i understand that this is just advertisement for the unpopular rolls you got
It's insane how you act like this is new tech or something lol, even in poe1 crit/attack speed were ALWAYS the most potent multipliers lol
another banger vid on crafting from POE 1 and 2 GOATed mirror gear crafter
Crit damage is more damage but your looking at extreme overkill for most content attack speed has far less overkill issues as it spreads the damage out more and makes mapping much smoother
awesome. now these bows are even more expensive. this has been known in the smaller community since relase. my crit bow LA deadeye is hiting 340k. the reason this hasnt hit main stream yet is because people like bowbowbow isnt famous. and fubgun is.
340K?!? What's your build look like? Or are you multiplying the damage for multiple arrows?
hi @belton, u shud always do a quick video, thanks!

@@BeltonPoE hahah
East 80%+ Critical chance
ppl knew it at first week of the game
I, for one, am not interested in RMT, but I don't mind paying real money for a slight leg up knowledge wise.
lol
Poe2 craft is gambling af
I wish i could have someone look at my build im level 83 and my bow is only doing 25k im new to this game and i really like but what im doing wrong
I hope to one day get this mirror bow its a goal of mine at 100 div currently but working towards buying it off you when you craft it! :)
Bro your almost half way their!
Doesn't a mirror item cost a mirror plus the div service fee?
Nice bow
everyone who uses warstaves knew this since like 3-4 weeks ago hmmm bow users are catching up
likely the case for most/many lightning based skills because of lightning rod. it is similar for spark.
cold has the highest base crit of any damage type, so monks/stave users would naturally migrate there first (and lightning rod, which makes non-crits lucky would not be a factor)
