About Dead End Hip Hop:
No scripts. It's pure unfiltered hip hop conversations and album reviews. No politics. No BS. We Are The People.
When it’s an Elzhi review, it’s Beezy’s review
Yo, they just let my man GO!😳
I really need the eLZhi, Royce, Black Milk album before I leave this planet. No more songs with the three of them, i need a whole project.
Bruh! I've been saying that! That's my dream project!
I still play that motown 25 song and I'm just hoping they do sm album together
Factssss
"No more songs with the three of them." I don't second that statement. I'd be okay with collaborations, because a project of just these three probably won't happen in THIS LIFETIME lol
We may not have as many rappers as other cities but Detroit has some of the best.
💯💯💯
I'm from New York and I completely agree
But What's Wack Is Off Top People Can Only Name 3 Or 4 Instead 10 Michigan In General Not Just Detroit..... Props To Phat Kat, Black Milk, Guilty Simpson, Binary Star(One Be Lo + Senim Silla) Waajeed, Finale, Apollo Brown, Illa J, Obie Trice, Buff 1, 14KT, eLZhi And Of Course The Usual Suspects But Much Props From South Florida.....
As a New Yorker, shoutout to y’all in Detroit for staying true to your sound and not sounding like other coasts.
@@LouieV6 Appreciate it.
Excellent album and review. The Preface is still my favourite album. However, it's DAF. Elzhi is SO underrated
the preface is a dope project and many folks sleeping on that...
I love this album as much as y'all did from top to bottom. Elzhi is definitely a top tier lyricist in the whole universe. Y'all should review Homeboy Sandman - Don't Feed the Monster.
Elzhi needs to be put on everybody's top 5 list👍
Man, THANK YALL FOR THE REVIEW!! THIS HOW YOU REVIEW A ALBUM!! No bias shit
Elzhi and Royce are my 2 favorite MCs from the D. You can add Black Milk to the mix too. I gotta check that Elzhi album out. It'll be a happy Friday for me with Busta Rhymes release. The thing about Elzhi in my opinion is that he doesn't sound like anyone else. He his own thing going on with his pen game. Great review fellas . - BMG New Orleans
Waiting for that Benny, Black Thought, OME reviews soon
OPM?
@@jkmyguy3482 open mike eagle bro
@@OPArchmage That’s what I was thinking, I’ve only seen it as OME
@@jkmyguy3482 it was typo
Westside Gunn and Savage Mode 2 also
JR Swiftz Killed the production and Elzhi continues to be one of the most slept on MCs ever. Check out UllNevaNo x JR Swiftz-technical foul. Dope little ep that JR swiftz produced earlier this year if you are fiendin for more JR Swiftz beats
I appreciate this!
Thank you!
Love Detroit rappers...they really possess the spirit of hip hop
I wanted this whole album to be more like Jason honestly.
WHY ISN'T THE PREFACE ON SPOTIFY, IT USED TO BE
This prompted me to finally get this on vinyl. I hate how albums can be on streaming and just disappear at random.
The beat on Guns and Boats is one of my favorite in a long time..can’t get enough of it
Salute !
Glad y’all are reviewing this album! 🔥🎧🎤
Absolutely love this album still. Might be a personal classic already, like man picked every great beat he could think of and rapped his ass off.
To me Elzhi is the best from the D. I like Jericho Jackson better but this is super fresh
So who do u like better
@@Noirlore IKR this dude makes no sense
@@bernardomattos8341 bro Jericho Jackson is elzhi and krysis who is a producer 😂
@@Squish_Cat But the album is self titled
@@heroddube I know. I think the confusion is that the dude said elzhi is the best from Detroit although he prefers the Jericho Jackson album more this one is super good too. The other 2 think Jericho Jackson is a different artist from elzhi lol
Light One Write One is so good, neckbreaking production throughout the album
I thought this album was great, definitely gonna end up in my top 5 hip hop albums of the year. A big step up from Lead Poison which was already pretty good.
I loved Lead Poisoning
"I plan on getting my buzz back" -Elzhi he did imo
Love what u guys do over at DEHH, the concept of just hanging out as friends is perfect. I would really appreciate it if you guys brought back the videos where you pick a thought provoking topic and talk about it, those ones are my favorite.
Check out their podcast!
@@kotzzz9 oh cool I had no idea, thanks
Shouts out to Detroit! Elzhi Once Again Went off of a amazing project. His rhyming was so dope with Guns & boats, Halloween centric, villain references. Early bird night owl, smoke and mirrors, Jason the best track on here, thugged out zombies.
I listened to Jericho Jackson A LOT. But it's an album i gotta be in the mood for. 7xDown i think I can play at any time. LOVE the production on this. Master Class is one of my favs.
Salute to you , thank you
Word! You stole words from my mouth respect
LOVE this album. Gave me a Lupe feel. Just so many bars. Fav tracks are NightOwl EarlyBird, Smoke and Mirrors, Ferndale, and Potential
A Lupe and Elzhi collaboration would be nasty as fuck!
Im new to Elzhi but him and Lupe would definitely be dope, personally I think adding Alchemist on production would be a dream
@@LouieV6 NEEDS HAPPEN ASAP🔥🔥💯💯❗❗
@@LouieV6 unfortunately lupe would never go for it :(
Smoke and mirrors is an tremendous track
This is an amazing album. And I agree that Elzhi hasn't been as consistent back then as he is now. I hope he keeps doing projects. I met EL when he came to perform in Columbus Ohio last year. Shout out to him and JRSWIFTZ.
True but they act like his last solo full length didn't address why he wasn't dropping music. Dude was in depression and had a serious alcohol problem.
@@clarktownsend8991 yeah he brought that up on Lead Poison.
Incredible album, there’s so much replay value that we’ll all be catching new shit a year from now
Detroit
Reason’s Album, ain’t no one shining a light on it anywhere! New Beginnings review please!
It’s average to me personally
@@melvinslaughter7685 that’s your opinion bro, all the more reason why they should be reviewing, just wanna hear opinions!😂
Man. I wrote this comment on the last review and like 3 people responded saying they were gonna do it. They not getting to it bro 😭
@@busterandrews This is exactly how I felt when they skipped over Retropolitan last year. Every review I'm like how bout Retropolitan, gonna get that retropolitan review? No retropolitan? ok.
@@thehighground_ that's the che noir x apllo brown album fir me crazy thing is every time I asked for it I got at the most likes on the comment in the video or one of the most liked comments u guess if the artists dosent have a name they won't review it sad because they used to feature more underground artists
I still gotta listen to this album!! I love Elzhi, lately I've been way behind on the music I gotta catch up on, so much music coming out these days and I've been busy, still gotta get to this, Westside's project, Benny's, those 3 specifically, but Busta & Ill Bill dropped a new project too that sound dope, skimming through a few tracks of each.. Oh and the Black Thought I still haven't heard, I've been sleeping
It's about time!!! Love DEHH for this one even tho they STAY being late with Elzhi 😅🤣
We need a review for the new Black Thought y'all
Love you guys!! 🤙🏿😁✊🏿
Feefhi- Seven Whips Down,Eight Whips Up
eL, the most underrated lyrical lyricist
eLZhi is just a low key kool brother..one of the great talents of our generation whose legacy will evolve with time..the fact theres platforms like this give testament to that..salute
GOOD!!! Y'all back on that Detroit
Haven't watch it but I wanna see what the crew and Beezy say about foolish
finally something new elzhi killed this album
Myke's always gonna freak out over RTJ, Beezy's always gonna freak out over Elzhi. I love that shit
Shouts out to Beezy because I'm from tha D and he ain't lying! The Belle Isle Zoo did have sh*t in there! I felt Foolish on the intro!
I really hope yall consider reviewing the new clipping album
With an album like that Myke usually reviews it on his own personal channel, so maybe lookout for it there.
Excellent review as usual! Love this album!
Ive been saying if eLZhi can consistently put out music EVERY 2 years!!! He would DEF' be more WELL KNOWN!!!! He been my FAVORITE for the LAST 10-12 years!!!!!
Even they were saying that but he has been putting out an album every 2 years for a while now which I believe is a healthy release schedule
2016- Lead Poison
2018- Jericho Jackson
2020- 7 times down 8 times up
@@novanebula8004 and now Zhigeist for 2022
My Potential - is my favorite!
Elzhi, one of the best yet. Album is just so smooth. Only downside, and very minor at that, is that I truly hope he will make at least one more truly epic sounding hip hop record, in vein of The Preface. Nothing wrong with with last couple records, but beats more put the emphasis on Elzhis lyrics. Elzhi has all the ingridients and connections to put out an alltime classic
Another note for the deadendhiphop fellas. Drop the masks, do it via streaming, or anything. You already made your point clear with the masks, nobody wish to hear reviews in mumbling 👎
@P maybe so, but when I have listened to these late reviews, I’ve had to rewind several times because I can’t hear what they are saying, it is annoying. Not an issue the whole review, still enough to be annoying
You guys got to review manger on mccnichols that’s easily aoty
If Em is watching this... *SIGN THE MAN* and put some promo behind the shit... fr fr
Elzhi is so dope. The god song is fucking amazing
It’s kinda crazy how you guys haven’t reviewed Benny yet? The album is 30 min long. Shoutout to Elzhi though, Detroit what up doe
Lol bro it just came out let em sit with it for a min
*Beezy flipped a coin*
Tails: Elzhi
Heads: ......................Jason Powers 😆
It's coming, bro.
I'd be unenthusiastic about Detroit if I was wearing a Pistons mask too lmao
It’s ok always we got the lio.......oh wait
🤣🤣
Lmfaooo bro your name is hilarious 😂😂😂
I think what holds Elzhi back is that there isn't a distinct personality or flare to him that makes him standout. I think people would think of him more and like him more if there was more of a personality connection. Lyrically tho, he is absolutely one of the best ever.
Review Iron Wigs “Your Birthday’s Cancelled”, a fckin bar fest, Vic Spencer been working this year.
They review what gets them views, sonnyjim is a brummy legend, that album is the dogs bollocks, But they hate on most U.K. rappers, ah well 4 more years of trump 🤣
I can’t wait for you all to do Busta Rhymes new album
Y’all let my homie Beezy GO!😳
This album is amazing, but the Preface still my fave project from Elzhi. Its damn near flawless
Been waiting on this one!
Cracked up on the zoo bit. I think Elzhi is more of an MCs MC like a kool g rap. R.A. the Rugged Man brought him up in the DEHH interview as one of the great lyricists
Entire Slaughterhouse said Elzhi is one of the most underrated emcee. Really says alot.
The flow on the first song reminded me of Wale.
Been waiting on this !, but No Joyner Lucas Evolution review yet?
17:07 Beezy Forgot "S.A.R.A.H" Out Of Focus Shit!
Oh yeah, Elzhi in my top 20.
If y'all haven't listened to this shit yet Y'all better go stream it NOW
NIGGAS review bust rhymes album a fucken classic i teared up hearing this album REAL HIP HOP
DETROITTTT
"Detroit" (I guess...) lol
Finally
Tbh, I only want to hear Beezy's take on this album LOL! No disrespect to the rest of DEHH!
Jason was mad nice, mad nice.
Waiting on a Ransom Directors cut review
Guys Y’all might Wanna Check out Certain one of our Favorite Chicago MC’S. Who just Dropped a Gem of a project Anime Trauma & Divorce! Guess who that person is?!
What are those skipabbles? Cause Jericho Jackson was perfect front to back to Me Feefo buggin.
I don't know if it was me but I just wasn't feeling the production but I need some more spins. Even Elzhi didn't hit with me like he usually do.
Dehh hasn’t done many mainstream albums this year
GOOD!!!!!
Just like seventeen was a continuation of two sixteens, I think Jason is a continuation of egocentric
On Talking on my Sleep from the preface El says “the n**** chasin’ is looking like Jason with his face in a mask”... whether he meant it or not I think El’s mind is continuing his old lines, concepts, and projects
I only wish he had dropped physical copies of this album
Who made the Sunshine and Burden of Proof!
ya slept on the preface album
Anybody know if breezy made this intro, could’ve sworn I heard this on UA-cam elsewhere.
Busta Rhyme Review ? Extinction Level Event 2
JOYNER LUCAS - EVOLUTION REVIEW NEXT PLEAZE !
7 mile homey
Review Open Mike Eagle please
My AOTY. Easily.
If y'all had to pick between Royce and Elzhi, you'd pick Royce, and that's why
It’s easily Elzhi for me
Elzhi better than nas lyrically as of now
Nah, different content, different styles. Nas is Nas man, a unicorn. Sometimes kings can coexist.
@@heroddube man stop I’m 42 I been heard nas since back to the grill bought half time as a single before the Illmatic had all the clue and doowop mixtapes elzhi is cut from that cloth so I am correct I have both of these guys catalogs and I am a real hiphop head since at least 82 Graffiti written all over my hood and different parts of Georgia so I know what I’m talking about
Fes Roc fucken smoked his verse. Jesus man
100th like ayyyy
The PREFACE "D.E.M.O.N.S"
So is the Benny the butcher review coming
yal been slacking with reviews
Can't wait to hear the Busta's album review, can't wait for them to call it a classic while it's straight up trash. Can't wait for the replies
c town is the Candace Owens of Hip hop critique. Talking hysterically loud and more aggressive than everyone fools the sheep audience into thinking his opinion is more sound.
Maybe he is just genuinely excited about the albums.
crazy yall really wearing those masks on camera like you don't take em off as soon as you're done rolling. too much
Why haven't you reviewed westside gunn new album? WTF is this shit
You guys can’t be wearing masks for this
Smh this was disappointing. Elzhi couldn't sound more disinterested in rapping. Never heard of this producer, but the beats were lackluster, and no Kinge, this album doesn't go with his discography, mainly his early work, like Preface, Europass, Leftovers, and Elmatic
Yo take the damn masks off bruh we can’t hear nothing
