Blackjack in California is NOT for the faint of heart. The Commerce Casino (my favorite in Los Angeles) invited me to record a blackjack session... the following video documents what happened to me.

I live in vegas and auto shufflers are the worst I would never play in LA and a fee to pay I will definitely pass.

never play automatic shufflers and force the casinos to go do shoe games. same with 6/5. if enough people stop playing that trash game they'll go back to 3:2
@@alexmacdonald9182 I agree I never play 6-5 and I never play auto shuffle. Casinos already have the advantage that’s just ridiculous. They def don’t want the players to win.

It’s a great illustration on why people are leaving California in droves to get away from the tyrannical govt they’ve willingly put in place. Sure it’s only a dollar a hand on a blackjack game here, but it clearly shows how extra taxation forces people to up and move. If there was a black jack table next door that didn’t have this tax everyone would go there. Now times this scenario by a billion and you have why businesses of all sizes are leaving California. To cover costs they raise the tax even more until it’s impossible to profit. Thanks Casino King for illustrating this simple concept many don’t understand.

Ante isn't for the casino, think of it as a tax. It's law (at least in Oklahoma). Casinos can choose to pay it for the player but most don't. IF they do then it's only on certain nights.
They do it in California because the house isn’t banking the game. The games are player banked. If you notice there’s another player sitting at the table with racks of chips but they’re not receiving cards. The dealer either slides the losing bets to that designated player or uses the chips from the designated player to pay out the winning bets. The only profit the house gets is that ante. I’m in Florida and we have poker rooms that use a similar structure for table games. However in our games the designated player pays the rake, not the players who are actually playing the game.

Little known fact, the casinos who charge a ante per hand have the option to not, they can pay it for you , but most don’t
Blackjack is difficult to beat in general, long term especially at the commerce casino
The level of sorcery-backed voodoo at the commerce casino is uncanny
You walk in there it’s got chili and unsettling vibes like a cemetery

Autoshufflers are standard here in Calgary now, but thankfully we still have 3:2 and we have surrender. Hard 17 stay, it could be worse.

y'all keep allowing this foolishness because you keep playing. We already lost the battle to the 6/5 BJ (i don't mind the auto shuffler as i have had several pb on those; 8-12 wins in a ROW) payouts but to allow this is criminal. California is a lost cause as those that are there are mentally challenged in letting things get like this. But as a Content creator you have options and a great platform. politely decline places like this. This isn't a matter of the faint of heart... this is the Stupid and the not Stupid and paying an ante/rake/commish on Blackjack puts you in the former category.
The way she LOOKS at the cards before placing them down is annoying as hell. Id leave the table

6:29 - Your 25 was supposed to be a push since her 26 bust was higher than yours. So you were shorted $200. At least that’s my understanding from playing at non-Indian casinos in California. That’s why they don’t collect your busted hand’s money immediately.

can someone explain what is going on with the dealer taking $25 chips and putting them by the money drop box? i get there is a dealer and a banker but when she takes the fee and put it in her chip tray she takes out more from the tray?
She's making change from the fee/ante
Why does the dealer show their second card. Doesn't the dealer usually show their first card, and then the second card is face down?

@@jonessinger5966 this isn’t the same as the ante in Oklahoma. The Commerce game is player banked, the house isn’t banking the game so the only profit they receive for running the game is the ante. If you notice, there’s another player sitting at the table with racks of chips and that player either pays the winning bets or collects the losing bets. The house has no interest in who wins or loses, they just want people to play so they can collect the antes.

ante marker. lets the guys upstairs know what the dollar she took is for.
Banker button. Each player has the option to play as the banker and that rotates around the table - but if you do your ante goes up to $3 per hand - at a table with multiple players this is a great deal especially if they are bad players. At a table when he is playing alone there is no one to bank against. In that case you can "buy" action which means you pay the house $5 additional and they will bet $100 dollars against and you will be the banker. The problem with that on top of the 5% fee is that they will play perfect strategy.

Also years ago where I worked there was a game called stook. You could raise your back bet 4 times after your first card, but you lost on a push. Two aces was called a stook, and an automatic win fwiw.
