"The director of this mv is Cho Giseok. He's a popular surrealist artist. He also directed Grl Gvng and Woke Up. He's good at blending surrealism and cultural realism in his work. He and XGALX design and production team used CGI/2D/3D to create this masterpiece. It's not all aesthetics either. XG mvs are multi-layered and multi-dimensional. They used a lot of MJ references so you could say that this is like a tribute to him - Thriller, moonwalk, "dangerous", the Earth Song. There are also pop culture references like Princess Mononoke, Hunger Games, the way Harvey stopped the bullets like in the Matrix, GOT wildings"
They do have writers, choreographers, sound engineers and videographers however the girls are fully involved in the entire process including costumes making changes where they see fit as well deciding what songs to do, it’s all decisions made between the girls and Simon
If you're talking CL from 2NE1. XG for K-Con LA 2023 performed a cover of I Am The Best. Let's just say people felt bad for the group that came on after them. There are several videos of it on UA-cam. The fancam video has 1.2 million views
Check out their song Winter Without You music video if you haven’t seen it and especially behind the scene video for it too. There is a scene in the music video with them crying for real because they received a real heartwarming surprise, Simon Jakops, the man who personally trained and formed XG (he is in Harvey’s own word like a father to them). He gave them a special surprise during their filming of Winter Without You music video. I’m not gonna spoil for you on what that surprise is. So if you want to know what made them cry, you have to watch Winter Without You M/V Behind The Scene video. 😃
I mean if they don’t write their own, I really don’t see anything is wrong with that. They are an artist yes but they are also performers, as long as they delivered it then that’s what matter. They definitely delivered! Good actor and actresses do not write their own script so they ain’t real actors? Lol
Yeah I love reading the haters about if they write their own music. I’d love to see a list of singers that only release their own stuff. Especially in pop/R&B/ even most hip hop isn’t!
I agree! Missy Elliott, Drake and other great artists in this genre do not write their own stuff but they are admired for their delivery . . . When an artist gains popularity, the haters are in direct proportionality
The girls do not generally write their own music. I know that Maya and Cocona took part in writing for their separate rap song called "Show You Can" which they released as a single track for the show "Street Woman Fighter 2." However, I don't see why the girls not writing their own music would discourage anyone from listening. Yeh, it's cool when an artist can do everything on their own but there is also SO much beauty in collaboration and the girls are all still really young, so they still have a lot of learning to do. Actually, in an interview released just recently they talked about how one day they want to be able to release an album where they do it all on their own (production, visuals, lyrics etc) and I fully believe that they'll reach there one day but I will enjoy the journey until then anyways. Their main producer, who has a hand in all of their music is the CEO of XGALX (their company). His name is Simon, but his producer tag is "Jakops" He is the one behind the conception of XG, he's the one who was the head of their training over the five years they trained, and he picked these seven girls specifically. He is almost always with them and many of their songs he's had produced for YEARS. He's had the vision for XG for a long time and it shows how much dedication he put into building this group. They are the first (and currently) only group under his company, but I believe he intends to produce more groups in the future.
The main reason they aren't Korean-pop (K-pop) is they're not Korean and do not sing in Korean! J-Pop would be closer, since they're all Japanese, born and raised, but still wouldn't be accurate since they sing in English, not Japanese. They came up with X-pop as a play off their name and a way to describe their unique combination of western, Japanese and Korean culture.👊🐺✌️
I liked your reaction, and I would've subscribed, if you hadn't begged me to at the beginning of your video. Tisk tisk. I can't subscribe to desperation.

10:31 “it sound too good makes me wanna slap all of em” 😂😂😂 I’m dead 😂
love it when i see XG's music turning an introvert into an extrovert.
Haha, as soon as the howling chorus started, you slipped into a trance.

Maya and Cocona have writing credits for Show you Can. As stated they have input in every aspect of their art from beginning to end.

lol you really missed the whole "x-pop" thing, didn't you? They've been calling themselves their own genre for a while now.
SMH. "They" voices go together." Are you serious? Sweet heart it is "Their" voices go together. Read a book.
SMH. Sweet heart, learn about cultures and English dialects that aren't your own. Get some culture.
