- My good friend Norman Bleuler and I brave the 100 Degree heat to dig an 1850s pontiled privy...due to increasing hostilities from the locals we decided to bow out, but not before we dug several nice bottles.

Well thank you. Its sure good to be diggin...my heart goes out to all who cant dig anymore. I wish I could bring everyone along with me on these adventures. I never know if I will have another dig or not...none of us know the day that God may call us home

I carry a pistol and hopefully its enough to make some idiot think twice before he decides to have a go with an old man...that day though was just a couple foolish locals letting their mouth run before they thought it through....we did the right thing in just leaving

Yes, the natives were on the warpath so The Lone Ranger and I decided to bow out gracefully before something evil befell us. Its a shame that such hatred and racism is controlling so many people these days...and its only getting worse by the day. We just pray for them and choose to take the path of peace

@@diggerdaveshovelinshelleyb8057 To be honest Dave....I am barely holding on. It is horrible. The bad thing for me is the nagging injuries. Shoulder pain, Back pain,. It is hammering me this year.
I saw that hole you dug in that hard packed dirt in this one. That had to about kill you. I would have been limping home after that...haha

Hey Jim...thanks brother. Yea I tried my best to talk and make peace with the natives, but they were having no part of it man. They were slinging drugs and didnt want us anywhere around. Us palefaces showed some mercy and chose not to pull our guns (literally). There are plenty of other places to dig and most locals are decent and peaceful. God bless you Jim in your digs

Hahaha...yea, I wondered in anyone would catch that about the U.S.A. HOSP.DEPT bottle. We havent dug one in awhile so overdue to dig a couple nice ones. The last two I dug in Illinois were cobalt blue...

It was a short day due to the heat and high humidity. Norman and I are not spring chickens any longer so we both have to be careful....as Clint Eastwood once said, A man has got to know his limitations"...haha

Yea the heat and humidity always brings out the grumpiness in some people who are not happy. There's no talking or reasoning with such people....but thankfully, there are a lot of really nice people too and plenty of places to dig

When you dig in most cities these days its to be expected. Sad to say there are a lot of racist, bitter people who just hate God and everybody created in His image....I just let it roll off and move on to the next dig spot...haha
