I realize this is a 4 year old video but I still would like to add a comment. The detail Mr. Burt demonstrates is very good. The construction of the jig is very straight forward and well described. His voice is a bit soft but I believe I understood everything he has to say. However I dearly hope Mr. Jensen's video camera skills have improved over time. The video is extremely jittery. Hand held camera work has to be very exacting to keep the viewer from litterly getting sick. This entire video could have been made with a single setup using a tripod for the camera. It never would need to be touched again. The shots would be rock solid. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂

Thankyou sooooo much for this video. It’s been doing my head in trying to work out the 60 degree cut method. With your help I should be able to get it right, at last. Thank you once again
I just watched this today (3 yrs late) found it very interesting and another project for me to try. Thank you very much. Sub'd and look out for more. Thank you for sharing.
Dear Jim, what a wonderful jig with so many possibilities, I think your idea of increasing the height of the backing strip and putting a guard for the saw blade is really good. Thank you so much for sharing. Regards Chris
lol , you quote ..... i understand this isnt the best way to do this ( please be careful ) , we can glue wood but it dont work with fingers, i tell ya what i got from this ( a look at that pushstick , must make one like that) the jig cut distance from fence , what is it ??
Although I got a lot out of the video, I could barely hear you. So I’m just guessing at a lot of things. In Fact I tried to switch to closed caption and it couldn’t understand either. LOL. I’ll be looking for more of your videos, hoping for better audio.
I have found that there are no two woodworkers who accomplish something the same way. This delightful lady has a video that will show you how to make a sled for cutting similar blocks. ua-cam.com/video/k9rX8SS1xA0/v-deo.html You can skip to 15:30 and go from there. The only difference is Jim is using a 60-degree angle.
Thank you for showing this. I will make one for the vets and me.
Iam enjoying the footage thank you William
Fantastically well illustrated Jim, I feel I can do this and get exactly right first time! 😊
Phenomenal! Thank you for sharing your expertise!

Just found your F A B video. Most interesting, thanks for sharing.
Très joli travail.
J’ai beaucoup appris. Merci pour le partage!

تبارك الرحمن. اختراع ممتاز. نتيجه جميله جدا. سلمت يداك..
That was great. I think that your jig is much better than the ones that have been made in 2023 or 2024.
Simple, practical and effective, well done to you Jim👍I agree that a runner in the table track would give a belt and braces job. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent Jig idea. The arm with the spring is a excellent idea. Can a FeatherBoard be used to do the same thing?
Brilliant. Simple. Straightforward. It makes me want to build this sled. However, the safety violations were cringe.
excellent demonstration, wonderful teacher, thank you, i will subscribe
Thanks for the video, I have watched a lot, yours by far has helped me the most, I'm new at woodworking so I need all the help I can get

It turns out very beautiful! Good luck!
So Jim first off excellent. If you wanted to make a bigger one just move the fence over correct? Once again excellent
Can I use this jig to make a bigger piece to make a larger star
Absolutely, Using Jim's method the width of the material you start with will determine how large your star will be.
Use a runner to slide in the the bottom of your jig to ride in the track of your table saw

Great job
Jim. Is there a place to buy the spring for this jig? Thanks for sharing your ingenuity
It’s from a broken spring clamp
Brilliant, always wondered how they did that!
Excellent demo. I tried to make a 3D barn star but it beat me!
👍👍

Me too
Hi, nice work, so my miter saw should be at a 60°
NICE work sir
what did you spray on the mdf for the glue
Glue Accelerator
So you will need a separate jig with the kerf cut at different widths for each size you intend to cut?

How do I make one
Wish I could hear what you are saying in the video
Nice work sir please keep it up
Yikes, cross-cutting by hand with no miter gauge or other support? 😬
روعه
There is something wrong with the audio.😭
Bit difficult to hear your voice.. Brilliant vid. Subbed
😊
Such a palava, overthinking the problem.
You cut it on a hand saw
Great information thanks 😊
👋👌👍
il prend trop de risque
Can't hear him.
Speak up! I couldn't hear a word you said
