There is a theory that the "Guest from the Future" is actually about post-WW3 Earth.
1. In the scenes of the future, you can pay attention to the desolation of the usually busy streets and parks of Moscow. The time university itself, for some reason, is underground building. Nuclear defence bunker?
2. You can recall the moment with the death of the Werther robot caretaker at the hands of space pirates. He withstood several blaster hits and demonstrated hand-to-hand combat skills. There is reason to believe that Werther is a former combat robot.
3. The final scene of the film, in which students ask Alice what the future holds for them. She doesn't tell the truth. Only beautiful tales.

It was the main and final theme of the mini series "guest from the future", produced by the Gorki film Studios in 1984. Prekrasnoe Daleko (the original russian theme) means "something beautiful far away". In the original russian version the songs sounds more haunting, because the refrain is like a prayer to beg this beautiful far away "not to be cruel to me, not to be cruel to me, not to be cruel." Why should a beautiful far away future be cruel? There is a far more deeper and darker meaning in these stanzas. And like another guy wrote here before: in the final szene of the film, before Alisa (or Alice in english) returned to the future, she fortold the lives and destinations of her classmates. But she dident told the truth, only beautiful tales. If you watch this szene and look into her eyes, you will see the sadness there...

@@vha1207 dont be cruel to me. I know, the world looks unsecure and sometimes grim today. Right, It's a long way to the world of our Alisa, but we have to keep going folks! There is no such wonderous and glorious future, unless we make it. Still plenty of time to do things right again. So lets not disappoint our guest from the future!
This Soviet song was released in 1985. Its lyrics appear as if the mighty Soviet Union herself begs the future to be kind to her. But little did the country know that the future would be cruel to her and she'd get dissolved six years later, in December 1991. I cry every time I listen to this song. 😭😭🚩🚩

There's a theory that "Prekrasnoe daleko" is not actually about the future, but about the past. The translation of the word “daleko” is not "future" but "something very distant"
You're wrong! Just read carefully and understand the meaning of the text. This song is about FUTURE!
Well the OG song did have a line saying "Today, what did you do for tomorrow?". So it really is about future in that respect.

Так оно уже наступило. И это чудо, ибо то, что творилось в девяностые наводило на мысль, что никакого будущего у России не будет, а лишь никий аналог Сомали с раздробленными постоянно воюющими республиками внутри страны и тотальная нищета, только в более холодном климате.
И вот, меньше чем за 20 лет Россия не только не развалилась, а развивается в таких огромных масштабах, о которых даже мечтать нельзя было. И вспоминая, как в СССР представляли будущее, то если убрать всю коммунистическую символику и лозунги, то именно так будущее и выглядело, как выглядит Россия сегодня - достаток, развитие, удобства и комфорт для жизни, просторы и возможности. Кстати, если нам ОПЯТЬ не будут мешать наши западные "партнёры" , то подобные концепты и проекты будут только развиваться и всё чаще воплощать в реальность -

Красиво, мне понравилось, но нету чего-то родного, близкого сердцу. Что-что, но русские и советские песни, на родном языке звучат всегда лучше, чем перепетые на других языках. Не хочу никого цепануть этими словами, но я такого мнения. Всё равно спасибо.
Несомненно. Но англоязычным детям (и не только им) эта песня будет понятнее. Ведь она для них и писалась/переводилась. Пускай прочувствуют всю мощь советских поэтов и композиторов! ))
