Really excellent presentation of this classic. I like your video angles and sticking with getting the audience through a simple version that works. Then, I playing the song in real time. A very effective way to teach
Thanks JP for the refresher course. I remember how I loved playing that when it first hit the charts. It's still a classic. Love to re-learn the oldies. Thanks again.
Thanks Gabriel! I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment... I'm about to have a live site up with tons of more songs just like this one. Stay tuned!!
Honestly. Great tutorial. I wish you could teach it to all of the people (even big bands like the Foo Fighters), who don't appreciate the nuances of how to play it). That said: Joe Cocker shouldn't really receive much credit for it. He made it popular but he didn't write it in the first place. It was written by Dave Mason and originally recorded and performed by the band Traffic. This arrangement was performed by the keyboardist Artie Butler. I like Traffic's but Artie Butler's piano version really moves me. It's like one of those minimalist paintings that shows only the most important parts. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feelin%27_Alright%3F
