I’ve lately come to rod building and find your videos great I’ve also watched many videos on rod building by manufacturers and they don’t mention how and if they spline the blanks if you know do they or don’t they spline the rods

Most build on the straightness axis, so they look pretty standing in the rack at Bass Pro...🙃

I know this is off topic but I just got into rod building and I’m looking for a rod blank to throw a swim jig on in the 7’3-7’6 range, I swim a jig a lot in Alabama on braided line around mostly lily pads and water willow and I need a rod with enough tip to where I don’t jerk a 2 pounder outta the water on a hookset but yet enough backbone to get a 5 pounder outta the grass. I was wondering if you had any suggestions as to what blank I might look at?
