Nice, very nice. You forged them, which is a hefty project; filed them into shape , then inlaid the silver! Time + Dedication = BEAUTY

Great! I also come from the metalworking industry, I'm a CNC machine technician. I still remember that my teacher always said: "Toolmakers are the kings of metal! They master ALL types of metalworking! Turning, milling, planing, grinding, soldering, welding, forging, riveting, eroding, sheet metal bending, peening, casting... ..

@dacor1106 A compass is a tool used to draw precise circles. It has a pencil on one end and a pin/leg on the other, you put the pin on the paper and spin it, the pencil will then trace a perfect circle on the paper.
It is used in everything from mathematics to cartography.

One hell of a attempt for a first time.
I swear it's people like you that are going to make me go broke the fastest.
Some people like paying for overpriced coffee, and some people like paying for high quality craftsmanship that's going to be there when my great grandchild turns 90.
You're building something that has legacy and honorific integrity to it.
Whatever the opposite of rolling over in your grave is everybody that came before you is going to do that.
Should be extremely proud of yourself and there is no amount of words within reason that I could put here to say just how impressed I am with this.
You are a very valuable person.
