Ohhh, that ticking sound to remind you to put on the seatbelt gives me flashbacks. My parents had a 242DL and a 244DL and I got a 244GL after getting my driving license.
what an awesome fucking swap man love it! i’ve been looking into maybe getting a volvo wagon & getting it swapped, i love older volvos and giving it a step up w a v8 sounds like a damn good deal. live in the US now but grew up in amsterdam and your accent makes me smile! awesome videos man thank you, looking forward to another post
You gotta love old Volvo engine swaps. The flexing in the Doors is "normal". I had a 242 turbo, doing 250km/h on the speedo (needle straight down😂) you could see the sky through the upper doorway (probably worse on the 242). I also had to weld the windowframe which cracked from the rest from the door.
@@LucaCarMods It was alot done to the chassie, so it handeled quite well (for a volvo). But yes it was exciting, and thats why we love fast Volvos 😂.. Also had a 940 T5, and a C30 T5 (track focused) 😁 Keep up the good work, really enjoyable content👍👍
Could be more scary, I once drove a Daihatsu Cuore L201 (1998) over our "Afsluitdijk" with windspeed 8+ Beaufort pushing the rear and the car went far beyond the 180kph (max on speedo) and the doors felt like they were about to come off !! Litlle car that weights in at 700kg and little rims /tires.. maybe not the smartest thing to do :)
Gotta say that engine looks really nice in there. It looks almost OEM, except the Lexus and Toyota badges, like the car was always supposed to have that engine in there.
yessssssssss, thank you so much for updating this series, i was planning this swap and looking to see if anyone else had done it. then i found your channel, i watched all the videos. thanks for making more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Epic build and like the way the engines needs time to heat up to really be able to step on it and the fact the drop down gearshift drops into the powerband Nice of you to share💯💥
The POV style is way more engaging, but there's nothing wrong with mixing it up with a chesty, where it's useful. There's nothing simple about filming and the use of camera angles are necessary
What's your opinion on the BC Racing coils on the 240? You've done an install a few years ago, so I'm wondering if you've had experience driving around on them. I've heard the supplied spring rates don't really fit the 240's weight well.
The ones I sell at the moment have 4kg rear springs instead of 6kg springs which normally came in the kit. It's way better with the 4kg/mm rear springs.
Awesome to see a new video from you. Question: I saw that the car has a german plate (I think). Do you think it will be possible to drive it legally there? Since the regulations for engine swaps are extremely harsh...
@@LucaCarMods Ah, okay. It's a shame that the governments have made it so tough. It shouldn't be a problem for good craftsmanship like yours to be legal.
@@username.858 thank god in finland where i live the restrictions were loosened two years ago, emissions is the only restriction you could run into really for 90' or newer cars, for instance you can swap a volvo 740 with a 400hp engine of any displacement so really you could swap anything that you can turn down to 400hp for the dyno, my buddy has a compound turbo 2jz 740 wagon fully street legal, whole interior, no roll cage no nothing special, running on 2.8 bars of boost if needed, never been dynoed but it's definitely in the four figures as you can imagine from the boost
Installing it is pretty straight forward, besides getting it pushed onto the bearing😜. Durability wise the 940 one should last a whole lot longer and keep up with more abuse. Good to see more 240 content from you. POV is the way to go. Suits you very well!
1UZ's sound so good with decent pipes

Good to know haha. 250kmh must be terrifying in a 240!

Soort vlog formaat is super tof man, gewoon laten zien wat je doet, is erg vermakelijk.
Goed om te horen. Bedankt voor de feedback!
Great to see a V8 in a classic Volvo.
Hi Luca, can the B8444s fit into a 940 and what gearbox u recommend to use with little mods needed...
Do you measure things in M&Ms? Like 120 M&Ms stacked on top and then you eat them after?
Hi where'd u get the GLE front grill badge?
What transmission you guys running?
This is what i was looking for

Big traktör :)
gotta love the oilsump being lower then the front axle.....
I had a GLE and it was never even close to performing like this Lexus v8 modified hot rod.
Красавчик 😊🎉
Hi great engine swap ..who made the modified sump or can you buy one off the shelf ..🙂
I'm working on an aluminum rear sump that will fit a Volvo 240, that one will be for sale once it's done.
@@LucaCarMods great how much are you selling it for
SUPER !! CAR !! ..........Bless
dawm your channel so cool futur customer for sure
Love those engines, cool swap
Thanks, they truly sound amazing!
Zat gisteren toevallig MX5 videos terug te kijken, timing on point. Keep it up, leuke content.

Muy genial 🙂
Goed om weer volvo v8 content te zien van je 👍goed bezig kerel
😁outstanding👍!!
Lekker project man!
En wat een fijne werkplaats! Zou ik ook wel willen...😁
Where's the MR2?
A windbreaker on the front doors could help with the wind noise, thx 👍
cool swap! like from Russia
Did the same in my 1966 Taunus 20m, manual gear.
Happy to see you back!!!
it would be wonderful to see lifted 940! 🥳
Engine year model ??
I like the chest mount camera angle!

What's the motor?)
Nice! I have missed some LCM Volvo content!
HES BACK!!???!?!?
one question though what happend to the om606 242?
Great video and phenomenal automobile!
I love V8!!😍
Fantastic swap! And maybe even more fuel efficient than the original engine?
It most likely will be!
Fuel prices never have been higher. Great timing to V8 swap your Volvo. Hahahahah nice!
This engine might actually be more fuel efficient than the ancient b20 that came out of the car.
@@LucaCarMods my 3.7 V8 Audi A8 got better mileage than the 2.5 liter B52 in my V70 XC
Вауууу брооо😮❤
MORE ENGLISH VIDEOS! nice job btw
beautiful car with a beautiful sounding engine. You do extremely nice work. Also nice aeropex, they're really something else eh?
They are great to listen to music/podcasts while wearing hearing protection👌🏻
@@LucaCarMods same reason i got em

Cool 😎 I put this engine in a Miata!

using a power drill for a tap, not me !
What gearbox/trans it got? That clunk when it goes into gear so satisfying, might be just automatic? I've always had manuals I wouldn't know.
It’s the stock a340e lexus trans but the shifter used is a B&M Ratchet shifter.
@@LucaCarMods nice thanks for the reply 👍

Long time no see
Hi can you make me Volvo just like that
Вау, Лексус
I'm really curious about the center support bearing. I've gone through 3 of the rubbers.
I'm curious too! Wouldn't mind switching over to the 940 series center support bearing in my 245.
Installing it is pretty straight forward, besides getting it pushed onto the bearing😜.
Durability wise the 940 one should last a whole lot longer and keep up with more abuse.

And you're proud of this? 😏
Wow
Can you build a sport exhaust to my Volvo S80 V8?
Sure! Just send an email through the contact form on our website 👍
What would a swap like this cost? Including a car and engine. I would be genuinely interested if it is less than €10k.
If you do everything yourself that would be possible yes.
super fijne videos zo ja!
