This story and its plot twist and ending broke my heart back then. Killing the collosae never felt truly satisfying because there's no real victory fanfare after killing it. It felt so empty and in retrospect, I loved it
To be fair, nothing experienced multiple times is ever as good as the first time. I still believe we can appreciate SotC now as much as we ever did when we were first awed by it. We can see the moments that stuck with us and changed us and truly appreciate those moments the same way we treasure a first kiss or the first time we see a baby's face.
SotC is a special game that inbedded itself within the ones who truly saw its beauty. A timeless masterpiece that will never be replicated but is still revered.
Man, I never knew exactly how to express what this game makes me feel, but you described everything wonderfully. Thanks for this! I love seeing people talk about this game.

I do agree that SotC is one of those games that would probably be hard to feel the same way about revisiting it, and I actually you made that point rather beautifully. That said, I kind of want to play it again after watching this. Good work, man.
An interesting critique of one of my favourite games, with words that probably would've never come to my mind. You describe the desolate world so well.
I also do have to mention, that the stillness of this game [and even Ico] was also down to the soundtrack. I remember playing Ico and hearing only echoes indoors or the birds, wind and sea outdoors. A similar effect is in SotC. I also do agree, that playing SotC for the first time is essentially a special time that can't be replicated. Replaying it only after many months does cause me to forget the order or strategies of the colossi, but certainly I remember the story and atmosphere, and can't necessarily feel the same way that I did the first time.
Damn dude this is great! SoC is an amazing game but you're right I feel like it's not something can be captured quite the same taking a look back at it, it's unfortunate.
Awesome video, I'll never forget playing this game when it came out. Easily became one of my top 5 favorites of all time, and the remake on ps4 is absolutely stunning
The fact that people are still finding new ways to discuss and analyze SOTC, one of the most talked about games of all time, still amazes me to this day. Definitely near the top of my list of “wish I could forget and experience again” pieces of entertainment. Just found your channel today, subbed and ready to binge more!
I feel like the things people love about the game is what I don't. The world is open and nails the atmosphere but I find it boring. The gameplay is unique but I find it annoying. Its one of those games that even when I don't like it I can say it's still amazing.
