A good start. For tropical/Italian theater kit (I'm assuming thats what you were shooting for) all straps and ammo pouches are khaki canvas. The water bottle is felt brown, leather strap with aluminium cap. The bread bag is canvas and a buff colour. I find oil paints work the best for flesh tones. Preshading the uniform seems to work really well and helps define highlights as you build up colour.
For a first attempt you've done the figure justice.....all kudos to you for having a go and sharing this on YT. Figure painting is definitely difficult initially but, with practice, you get into a rhythm and it becomes easier. CW Modelling does amazing figures 'his way' so he's someone to check out if you haven't done so already. Look forward to the next one.
A superb result for a first attempt. Figure painting is a dark art I have yet to master. One tip I always remember getting from a professional figure painter is to have the eyes painted as though the figure is looking to the right or left as it gives a more subtle look. Looking forward to seeing your next effort
Along with painting canopies, figures are the thing that give me the most grief. I did see somewhere else that eyes and pupils come first then cut around with flesh copies. Enjoying your tutorials, you keep things 'real` and commentary is great.👍
First thing that i can advice you it to prime all figure in blacka , and after from 12 o clock give it a mist with white color , so u can see where the shadows and highlits are . After its a good base for further work :)
😊 thank you very much! It's far less scary than it looks! Check out a tutorial online for beginners, as that's what I did, if you feel like giving it a go!
This being your first attempt at figure painting then I can say with more practice you are going to turn out to be a true professional at figure painting , looking forward to your next video 👍
Yeah that looks good. :) Kinda biased though, a paratrooper/airborne ranger myself - but my beret is maroon like your dudes.. ;) However, i get really interested when any kind of paratrooper is in the lime light.. Read alot about the Fjs. Interesting stuff. The model looks great.
I am struggling with the skin tones; highlights and shadows, blending them for a more realistic appearance. I'm on my first ever figure also but I'm not giving up. Yours looks good for a first attempt.
You doing nice , paint more and more and u will get the good results . I painting more than 40 figures in month more work more practice :) If you have some questions feel free to ask :) U doing well .
I hope you enjoyed guys! If you have any tips feel free to post them down here!
It's so nice to see a video featuring a first timer. It helps set my own expectations instead of watching a pro.

Good work I like the result. Figures are really hard to do right.
Thanks, glad you like it! 😄
Did you post this on r/modelmakers? I swear I saw a figure that looks extremely similar. Anyways, a cracking job as always!
I did! It was about a week ago I believe. Thanks mate!
Tomorrow I will make film with my new painted figure. If you want, you can wach it. In the future you can use my techniques on your own figures.
I look forward to it my friend!

Looks great! Don’t undersell yourself!
Thank you very much my man 😊
The pants are baggy because you are painting German paratroopers, which had the baggy pants and long covering coat.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I’ve done that with tamya tops
Alpine makes the best figures in my opinion.
wtf is up with the green paint brush lol? That things seen better days.
Que malo que eres...
Thanks Jose
Cambia de pincel..
